Last week I mentioned a possible little getaway. This past Saturday, we woke up to this nice sunrise (pretend you don't see the utility lines, okay?) and packed our bag for the weekend. We hopped into the car and away we went!
If you can see the number on the green highway sign or recognize the area, you will know where we were headed. Branson again! Yes, we love Branson. We were only there a short time, we didn't do a lot. We went to the Landing and had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. The drive itself was nice and we admired the scenery and the changes in color of the trees.
This beautiful golf resort is in Branson. Do you play golf? Hubby and I don't, but sometimes wish we did when we see these beautiful golf courses.
I didn't take many photos this trip. It was short and sweet. Just a little getaway and I didn't want to spend our few hours behind a camera. I always see something new each time we go to Branson, usually a little shop that I haven't been in. So I make a mental note to remember for future, longer visits. The weather was great and we enjoyed our little trip. I'm curious, do you like weekend trips or do you have to have more time?
Until next time...
I love two day trips and day trips during the week. It's quieter. But if one of us were still working, weekend trips would be fantastic Cheryl! Short trips are my favorites, little spur of the moment getaways are treasures and a special meal is always the cherry on the sundae :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you and your Hubby are enjoying your getaways this wonderful Fall season. CH and I are taking one too!
Geesssh I forgot! Those really are some very pretty pictures. The first one looks like I just opened our porch door and clicked a shot, power lines and all!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! That sunrise shot is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI prefer quick trips- as I've "aged", I've become more of a homebody. Hubby & I were away for 3 nights last week, and I was more than ready to get back home!
Oh, I love it when you go to Branson! We do play golf (though there has been no time for that this summer!) and that course does look beautiful! I like weekend trips. They are easy to pack for and break the routine. Just wish we would do it more. LOL! Glad you and your husband had this fun getaway!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThat picture is awesome and I never saw the lines till you mentioned them. The colors and streaks were just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you didn't get me my shoes on this trip to Branson either. That is OK. Guess I will just have to go myself.
Now you know those electric lines mean $$$ to you all and us! LOL
ReplyDeleteWe are taking a little R & R friday, taking the camper to Oklahoma for a blacksmith conference there. Then Monday we will go to Arkansas for a few days. We are just going to wing it. Maybe Mountain Home??
Enjoy this beautiful fall!
Beautiful sunrise! We love road trips, even if it's just for the day. Looking forward to more photos from your weekend away!
ReplyDeleteBranson is a nice place! We used to go quite often, but I haven't been in several years, now... it sure is beautiful over there! =)
ReplyDeletePS That's all I have is weekend trips, love 'em, so I have to take what I can get... =)
ReplyDeletewhat power lines?? haha
ReplyDeletei prefer shorter trips. i love day trips or one night stay overs as i prefer to sleep in my own bed.
2 hours is the max i like to drive before staying over at least one night.
there is so much to do in new jersey, just for the day, we are lucky that we can take days trips and see lots of beautiful scenery and still sleep at home!!
my friend and 3 of her friends are leaving for Branson tomorrow, they will be there a week, tell Lola hello for me. HA HA on that one, just joking.
ReplyDeleteenjoy. that first shot is beautiful, all those planes zipping through the glorious colors.
Branson looks beautiful - I have never been thee but would love too. That first photo - looks like two wings of a bird that is coming out of that water - nice - (at least to me), Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeletesandie♥
um, silly question, where is branson??
ReplyDeleteI did recognize that you were on your way to Branson! I'm feeling proud of myself.
ReplyDeleteGetting away is always good no matter how long. We find that we are now tied down because of a dog so we plan day trips still. I find this mildly frustrating.
We don't golf, but we like to drive golf balls. Ha! My sister took up golfing three years ago when she married her husband an avid golfer. She says that she's having a lot of fun.
Now, Cheryl, I'd never be slow on purpose. I just am slow and in the way. Tempers have been a bit frayed as we struggle to get these chores done. I felt it best to stay out of the way completely. It was a "You do your thing, darlin', and I'll do mine" sort of decision.
I love weekend trips! As long as I've lived in Arkansas, I've never been to Branson..but everyone else I know has! My momma loves it there! I plan on taking her there for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh Cheryl, the scenery is amazing! Thanks for posting and glad you got to spend a little time away!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely for you! We seem to be so busy lately and with hubby gone so much with his Army obligations that he really wants to remain home when he is home! I'm not complaining at all. I do want to get away for a few days soon to Lancaster, PA, but we'll have to wait. Love the pictures. Very nice! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHey, your first picture is the same as the one on MY blog today! Really!!! Great minds think alike! I love the last picture, too, too bad it is limited to only golfers!! I don't travel well, so we only take day trips now.
ReplyDeleteWe are headed out too but we can't decide where to go! I would love to go to Branson! ;D
ReplyDeleteWe don't get away much. Did I mention it before? LoL, supposed some of that is our own faults. I love your photos, especially that first one with the plane 'things' - gosh I can't remember what they're called ;) Anyway, beautiful!! I'll travel vicariously through your pics! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sunrise to start the day with!
ReplyDeleteI love day trips, and sometimes we just go for a ride up the canyon. It's always fun to get away for a bit and see something new. I've not been to Branson, but I've heard that it's fun. Maybe one of these days.
Power lines ... what power lines? I surely didn't notice them as I was too busy gawking at that beautiful sunrise.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the golf course is also pretty. Despite the fact that we have a golf course in our neighborhood, we aren't golfers either. It does look like a pretty sport.
So nice that you got back to Branson. We are big fans of long weekend getaways. In fact, we have one planned and I can't wait til it's time to go.
Hey, you were in my neck of the woods again :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures and thoughts. We are going to have Thanksgiving at our daughter home in Pecurliar Missouri. We might get a chance to go to Branson. Your trips there have increased my desire to go there.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and keep on enjoying your journey.
Wow Cheryl.. That is awesome. A weekend away sounds like so much fun. You all love going back to the same places like we do... We have certain places which we love to go back to---over and over....
ReplyDeleteGreat set of photos...
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteI love sunrise/sunset pictures!! Yours is just beautiful, even with the wires, it's just gorgeous!
Two day trips are the best kind! I have always wanted to go to Branson . . . one day (sigh)!
My husband is a golfer, he would love that golf course. I like to golf, but I'm really slow, and others don't like slow golfers, so I usually just watch... :0)
So glad you had a good time!
Hugs,
Barb
Cheryl, your shots are beautiful, especially the sunset!
ReplyDeleteNow that we are older we enjoy short 2 or 3 day trips. I just want to be at home in my own bed.
hugs,
Pam
