This old red barn is on the same property as the old house I showed in a few posts ago titled "Again" that was a rerun of a post I did last year about the strange happenings in our house. This photo was taken in September of last year. I thought it interesting that the owners have painted the old barn, but are letting that once fabulous old house run down. Do you see the tower in the background behind the red barn? They are an increasingly familiar sight in the country these days....sigh! I think this old red barn is charming even with a tower behind it. I love old barns and especially red ones!!
I'm linking to Tricia's Bluff Area Daily, she hosts Barn Charm every Tuesday. Be sure to check out the many interesting barns there!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Also. I'd like to mention a giveaway taking place at Camp and Cottage Living. Kimberly is celebrating 100 followers with a very nice giveaway. Be sure to visit, if you haven't been there before now.
Until next time...
Hi Cheryl~
ReplyDeleteI love old barns, and yes, I think it's strange that they would take such good care of the barn and not the house!
Those towers are everywhere here too . . . sigh . . . I guess it's just a sign of the times. Thanks for sending us to Barn Charm - beautiful pictures of old barns, I loved it!
Hugs,
Barb
That is a very charming barn. It is a shame about the house. It has such potential. Here in Orlando we have cell towers everywhere. They are getting creative with their disguises.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling great this week! :)
I love this shot, Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteThere something about red barns that feels comforting to me.. like homemade soup on a cold winters day.. um um good!
hugs and smiles,
Pam :D
this is a sweet little barn....maybe the house is next?!
ReplyDeleteI love old barns! That's a great one. In our very first house we had a room that we called the sun room because it had these huge windows and about 10 of them. Anyway, there were two cabinets and a closet in this room that were made from an old barn. We loved them! When we purchased the house, they were still the color of the old wood, rather plain looking. So hubby painted them a beautiful barn red. I loved them! And miss them. Going to check out the other blog now. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love old barns, too, and have always wanted to have the talent to create a coffee table book of the ones in my area. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThis old barn with its rich deep red is wonderful. What are the towers for? (Sorry that the house is now falling into disrepair. This economy stinks!)
I also love old red barns. I find this very interesting that the owners would paint the barn and let the house go. Maybe they plan on painting it next!!! Guess they are making a little cash from the cell phone tower. Can't really blame land owners. Don't like the way it looks though!
ReplyDeleteI always love a red barn and this is no exception. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteit is a beautiful barn, in spite of the modern day tower.
ReplyDeleteis the tower for cell coverage? someone commented that above. we don't see them here - at least i haven't - but we sure could use some more! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely little barn! Now to see if i can find the old house!
ReplyDeleteYou know I have to agree - I think red is the perfect color for barns.
ReplyDeleteVivid red.
Funny how those towers are every where nowadays.
I hope you have a great day!
I like that shot Cheryl. The tower actually works in the photo IMO. And the tree on the right is good in the shot too. Love the color!
ReplyDeleteTime to hit the outside CH is sucking up leaves!
I think that tower behind the barn kind of adds to the picture!
ReplyDeletethe contrast between the red barn, the green grass and that blue sky is beautiful!
ReplyDeletethanks for joining in on Barn Charm =)
That's a great picture and a mystery for sure. I like things that make me wonder. It's perfect for this time of year. I just started painting a red barn and pumpkins yesterday.. Perfect timing.
ReplyDeleteI love old barns. Well, if the old house is haunted, maybe they don't want to live there anymore. But the barn would still be useable. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCheryl
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting my give away!
I love old barns too. We don't have that many here were I live, so I appreciate them all the more.
What is the tower-I've never seen one like that.
i love the deep dark red with the green grass. this is a charmer for sure!!
ReplyDeleteExcellentPicture
ReplyDeleteI love your blog!!! I grew up on a farm in Ohio and have always been loved red barn pics. You have a great eye for taking pics and I'm your newest follower so I won't miss any. Off to look around now...
ReplyDeleteHi There Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteI just love this barn. It has such an unusual shape to it. I would love to see what's inside!!
Have a wonderful evening!
I love this barn - it's a real charmer!
ReplyDeleteI love this barn - it's a real charmer!
ReplyDeletePretty! I'm partial to red barns - our old barn is red (and in need of a paint job on the roof!). Lovely photo, as always! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteI agree that red barns are pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cheery, and put a smile on my face, every time.
Have a wonderful day!
I love old barns. I've noticed many in this area have been renovated recently, but more are falling into heaps of rubble. That makes me so sad.
ReplyDeleteThat is a grand barn in your picture!
I too love old barns and this pictures is awesome. I hope to have a painting of a barn in my home one of these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and I will pop over and look at the link.
Blessings to you!
How beautiful! Such a sweet little barn.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little barn. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteIs that a cell phone tower? It looks different from the ones in my area. They are cropping up all over our landscape as well. As we begin to bury all sorts of wire lines, removing telephone poles in the process (and opening the landscape again), now these ugly things are taking their place.
What's worse, there are one or two towers around here that are 'disguised' to look like trees. Don't ask (and no, to the trained eye they do not look like trees). lol
