From my window....

We've been seeing 3 deer almost every evening in our pasture.  I just know they are waiting for the garden to grow a little more.

Look at the velvet!  That will be rubbed off the antlers in the fall and the antlers will come off later in the winter months.  New antlers are grown in the spring.

These shots were taken in the late evening, so I enhanced the color a bit in order to see the deer better.  These shots were taken out the window.   Do you have deer in your neighborhood?

Until next time...

  3. Lovely out-your-window pictures.

Do I have a deer in my neighborhood? Doubt it. And hope not, actually. Every time I see a pic of a deer, I think of TICKS. Which I fear, with a passion.

  5. Oh, yes. We have a family: mom and 2 "teenagers" The mom is crippled, and it pains me to see her limping. But she's been that way for several years.

  6. Those antlers are amazing! I would love to see that out in my yard, but no. I do see deer running across the road sometimes. You wouldn't think to see deer in the desert but they are there.

  7. What beautiful animals to see from our window! I don't see any where I live now. When I was growing up I lived in the country and I saw deer all the time. They're so pretty and graceful!

  9. Beautiful shots Cheryl! Love the velvet antlers. Yep we have us some deer. We have a very young doe, looks young to us, that has twins. She has been having a time keeping them together. I had never seen a deer stamp its front legs and call to a baby before last week. Maybe she was giving us what for!

  16. Beautiful photos! But thankfully we don't have any deer in our neighborhood. Nearby, yes, but they haven't bothered us yet...eating our flowers is what I mean! Enjoy your day.

  19. Beautiful photos....while photographing the "Church in the Wildwood", a deer stepped out in the tall prairie grass. I got so excited that the photo was out of focus....but, I saved it anyway!

  21. Great shots. I can see the felt on his antlers. We haven't seen many lately. We used to see up to 20 at a time.

  22. Don't you just love seeing the felt on those antlers? I am for sure thinking that they can smell that garden coming on!!! I enjoyed seeing these pictures. Have a great day

  23. Beautiful photos of this buck! We have lots of deer in our area and the whole province too. I had 2 run across the highway in front of me the other evening. They roam around our rural community all the time. As for you roof? I might go with a grey/black. Such a hard choice with red brick. Some brick house here have the same colour red for their shingles too. A difficult choice. All the best.

  24. The first thing I noticed was the velvet...and we live in a small town...go a block and there is the railroad and then a cornfield. I have seen deer down there, and several years ago, one got in a neighbor's fence and got scared and killed itself trying to get out. I do not know why it didn't jump it....
