A happy June 1st to you! I was so happy to capture
my first Baltimore Oriole yesterday evening. I shot
this out of my window, so it's not as clear as I'd like,
but I was thrilled to get a shot. He's a beautiful bird and
I've been looking for him all spring!
I'm puppy-sitting my son's pup, Marley, today.
Marley and I are going outside in a few minutes to
plant (or I should say replant) a few pots.
The petunias have not been doing well so far. Some
years I have good luck with them and other years they
won't last very long. This time, I'm replacing the
dying petunias with a different flower.
We had a few clouds and a tiny bit of rain the
other day, but we need so much more. It's
very dry right now. We have much cooler
temps today and that is nice!
This is a busy day and has been a busy week, so
I'm going to turn off this computer and
get back to work. I'm hoping to catch up on what
everyone has been doing very soon.
Have a wonderful day and weekend!
Until next time...
we had that same front come thru - a couple of days and small thunderstorms yielding only bits of rain, but what a great break in temps! enjoy while it lasts! hi, marley!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a wonderful close up of the Oriole!!! So pretty and colorful...I have never seen one. We never have good luck with Petunias. We are under a tornado watch till nine tonight.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome that you were able to get the picture of the Oriole!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya about the weather and plants!
Sheesh.. I'm off to replant the garden .. again. It froze for the third time, or is it the fourth time?
Anyway...
Have a great weekend!
Smiles :)

It is so satisfying when you get a picture of something you have been waiting for and your shot of the Oriole is lovely, even though it was taken through the window.!!Great shot of the clouds too, looks really stormy, even though you did not get much rain.
ReplyDeleteI have not forgotten about the award, waiting for daughter to help me because it won't work for me don't know what I am doing wrong.!! Have a good weekend.
Carolyn.
marley is beautiful so is that little bird.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you been looking for this bird...so attractive! Marley could visit me any day! I love puppy dogs! We've been lucky with rain lately, but we still need more. Have a nice weekend Cheryl. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful shot of the Oriel. What a brilliant orange. Marley is a sweet looking pup and it looks like he's quite at home there. Enjoy the weekend. Pamela
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shot of the Baltimore Oriole, Cheryl. I have never seen one in person. I think they like orange halves or grape jelly which I have never put out before.
ReplyDeleteYour garden helper looks pretty content right where he is. What a cutie!
Our weather has cooled down too and I am loving it.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Great shot of the beautiful Baltimore Oriole, and of Marley too. Tired Marley.
ReplyDeleteHave a Great weekend Cheryl
Marley looks bushed. He must have worked hard on those flowers.

ReplyDeleteThis is a bird I've only seen a couple of times in my life! How colorful and what an amazing photo! I love cloud photos, too! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds are awesome! We have cooler temps today, but no rain.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Carolyn
That oriole was just breathe taking - your photos was great. And your grand dog Marley is so cute. sandie
ReplyDeleteYou got a beautiful shot of the oriel! I see them once in awhile at my feeder, but it is too far away to get a picture from my window.
ReplyDeleteA month ago we were in a drought but we have had so much rain in the last few weeks that we have caught up. The weather has been cooler and I am glad of that while I have been cleaning the garage.
Have a fun weekend with Marley!
Beautiful capture-- I'm hoping for rain, but all we have gotten so far is a couple of spits here and there.
ReplyDeleteCute pictures!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of rain: 5 inches for us last night! Heavy thunderstorms, tornado watches (and a touchdown just a few miles from us). WHEW!
Gorgeous birdie!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been, to say the least, interesting.
ReplyDeleteWhen my petunias don't do well, I find that they are root bound and often right from the nursery. So I dump them out of their pot, rip into the bottom and untangle those circling roots, repot them in a larger pot with extra soil and a good dose of fertilizer. Is that what's happened to yours?
Hope that you got a lot accomplished! I'm fixing to shut my computer down, too, but it's because of the weather. Still, I might get something accomplished.
Oh my gracious, what a beeeeeeautiful pic of a baltimore oriole!
ReplyDeleteAnd the doggie is just too cute for words. Even if he is big. He's still so cute!
Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees...

Lovely pictures again; you could do a nature book. I loved the cloud one. Actually, I liked them all. The bird shot is great. Don't work too hard; take some breaks and shoot some more pictures.

Oh lucky you. I have never seen a Baltimore Oriole in the feathers. Wonderful shot of a beautiful bird.
ReplyDeleteWe are super dry also. I just kicked up piles dust mowing the weeds that don't seem to mind no rain. My grass has its winter colors on, beige.
