It's raining, it's pouring...

It is still dark as I write this.  I'm afraid to look outside when it is light.  You see, it has been raining all night long.  I just know everything will look waterlogged.

My hubby just left on his third call to restore power somewhere out there in the county since the heavy rains began last night.  I decided I might as well get up and await the morning light.

This potted Knockout rose won't need watering today.

I can't wait to see pretty blue skies with white fluffy clouds,
instead of gray, rain-laden clouds.

If it isn't raining too hard, I will see this pretty boy
at the feeder today.  He, and his friends, will be
a pretty spot of color in the dreary, wet day.
Now that makes me feel more cheerful already.
I think I'll go see about fixing breakfast.

Here's hoping your Monday is a good one,
rain or shine.

Until next time...

  1. It's raining here too. More severe storms are predicted for later in day. Luckily no wind so far. LOVE the bird. Brightens the landscape. And the lake and flowers are nice too. Hope your day is good. I'm sipping my chai and reading blogs. take care.

  3. "Rainy days and Mondays......" Oh boy!

Wishing sunshine to be breaking through, soon. As soon as everything gets enough ran fall, I suppose... though. Being wise and all that.

  5. It's raining, it's pouring the old man is snoring! Maybe you should have pulled the covers over your head?

We had 1 1/2 inches Sunday morning and I see another inches in there this morning and it's still coming down.

Tell your husband thanks for getting up in the middle of a stormy night and restoring power.

Here's hoping the sunshine returns soon!

  11. It's still raining Cheryl! I need some sunlight! We did get sun around four yesterday. We have a new pond in the front yard that we didn't plan on :) Thank goodness for your Hubby and the other guys, without them we would all be without electricity! The pond looks beautiful and so do your roses.

  18. the old man is snoring.... and he did! He slept through everything last night. We have certainly had our fair share, over the last few days, haven't we. The sun has tried to pop through a little today, so that is good.

Tell your hubby thank you for all that he does when the power goes out because of relentless mother nature!

  19. Such beautiful images...ultimately rain always makes things look better, unless it floods. Your husband works for the electric company? Very cool, I guess you never need to hire an electrician!
