Small Missouri Barn

This barn is rather small as you can tell by looking at the door.  I've always thought it an interesting little barn and can't help but wonder why it was built so small and what it's use was/is.

The editing, Frost, was done in PicMonkey, a new editing site I read about on a blog.  I tried it out and I think I'll like PicMonkey as well as Picnik, especially when they add the collage-making feature.  Right now, all the editing features are free.  I'm sorry to see Picnik go, but there seem to be several good editing sites to choose from.  iPiccy is another one that I think I might like.  I don't do Photoshop, but occasionally use PhotoScape.  Anyway, I thought this photo of the little barn sitting in the middle of a pasture needed something extra so I went to PicMonkey for a little frosting.

  1. This barn looks huge, maybe because of the way it's been photographed. Great shot! :)

  3. I agree - if you hadn't pointed out the small door, the perspective of the shot makes the barn look really big! I love the shot! I haven't used PicMonkey, but I do use PhotoScape...will have to check it out.

  4. Just perfect! Love the barn AND the editing! I have Photoshop (because I may have huffed and puffed until someone said "why don't you just buy it?"....ahem, I digress) but I don't use it much. Quite a learning curve and I've not put much time into it. I'll have to try PicMonkey! Thanks for the tip.

  7. Thanks for the tips on photo editing sites. I love the barn too. I wonder what the wood structure of the roof looks like from the inside? I also wonder why they decided on that particular design?

  10. What a sweet barn! You do have to wonder what it was used for?Perhaps there was a larger barn on the property at one time and this was an extra?

  11. Sweet little barn. I just found a new little barn along my travels. It's small, too, but I was happy that barns are still being built. Yes, I like the new picture editing sites and am glad that all those who were sad at losing one found others.

  13. I think the height made up for the width of this barn...it looks very tall! I love the edit and pic monkey is a fun program.

  14. Cute little barn!!!

Thank you for all your info, on places to do-stuff-with-our-photos. I've never had any, so I am without a clue. I only use the abilities which my iMac gives me, in my iMac Photo Application. (Like lighten, crop, make clearer, etc.)

But what I really love, is when a blogger can make the edges of her photo... softer. Or something. I'd have to get some (free) program, to do that.

But! Many Pc programs don't work on a Mac. I could check into, the ones you suggested, to see if they are compatible with a Mac though.

For those who like Picnik, there's also another editing site called Aviary. I know nothing about it, but it's supposed to be similar.
