Maybe they're just a bit slow. I think they are so beautiful. I have faux ones on my living room window sill. :-) We don't have red buds here at all. Pamela
Redbud trees are so beautiful...I love to see the rows of redbuds that we have growing in the fields. Ours are now completely leafed out! Hope you have yourself a wonderful day....it's cold here!!! hugs
Hi Cheryl, Our weather has been so weird this Spring. We had snow yesterday and it was warmer last night then it had been all day. The snow has melted, but it was muddy. I don't think some of my trees are going to bloom, so I will just enjoy yours. It is 29 degrees this morning, but we have sunshine. Your redbuds are so pretty. Have a great day. Hugs and Prayers from your NW Missouri Friend.
my little tree took a bad hit from the drought the year before and i lost a lot of older growth. thankfully, it has started new shoots so maybe in future years... i only had a handful of blossoms on one lonely branch this spring. (horse manure should be helping...) :)
I have heard that trees that bloom are awesome, every other year!! It is true of my two dogwoods, they are gorgeous on their "good" year, the following year I am always so disappointed!!
So funny they call them red buds, shouldn't they be purple buds?!
REDBUD trees are lovely. Enjoy what blooms there are.
ReplyDeleteOurs have already bloomed. They are such pretty trees. Hope that yours come out better.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura

ReplyDeleteBut what are coming out, are lovely... :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd your photo has that "bouka" effect or whatever it's called. When up close is clear, and background is fuzzy. and visa-versa. :-) I love it!
ReplyDeleteYou'd think I would remember the name of it, wouldn't you?!? Yishhhhh...
But they are blooming, so pretty.....nothing here yet....ccccold still, Francine.
ReplyDeleteHope they did not freeze last night! Our temps got to 33 overnight, with wind chill in the 20's. This spring has just been unreal! Twyla
ReplyDeletei love redbuds in bloom, in Savannah the whole city would bloom at the same time. we don't have them here.

The past few weeks have really brought out the Redbuds and Dogwoods here. They are so pretty. The mountains seem to glow with new growth.
ReplyDeleteOur redbuds aren't either Cheryl. I think the drought was extremely hard on them. We lost one redbud completely. It was snowing here this morning!

ReplyDeleteIt seems everything is a bit late this year.
ReplyDeleteBut these are lovely! Enjoy what is there.
ReplyDeleteThey just need a little more warmth. Keep your eye on them, they'll surprise you yet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Redbud, Cheryl. Ours is trying to bloom now also.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
A great bud shot! I have never looked really closely at Redbud buds!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, we still don't have too many buds popping out yet :(
ReplyDeleteI hope they are just taking their time. Ours are done for the year, but they were pretty while they lasted.
