There is so much to do this time of year and when the weather is warm and nice, it's just impossible to stay inside. If I'm not doing something outside, then I want to hop in the car and head down a country road and take in the beauty of spring unfolding all around me in the greening of the grass and the flowering trees.
New calves are seen on country drives. This little guy needs his mama to teach him the proper way to dine.
New bird nests are being made in trees that will be sporting new leaves soon.
At home, the yard work continues. We were quite busy cutting down evergreen trees that didn't survive the summer drought. Well, to be honest some of us were much busier than others. I'll let you wonder who the slacker was. It might have been someone who would rather bake cookies for the hungry workers and make iced tea and take photos.
The next item on our to-do list is mowing the grass. You can see how Truman thinks he's hiding from, in the grass that is growing fast now, the birds he is busily watching. Cats have the life don't they? Eat, sleep and play. Oh, wait! That pretty much describes me some days! Ha ha.
How was your weekend? This is a busy time of year and I may be (or not) away from the computer more. When the really hot weather arrives, which will here before we know it, there will be more time for inside work and computer time.
Have a wonderful Monday!
Until next time...
Oh...how I love the country life. These photos just make me want to move (back) out of town. I'm a city girl right now, but sure hope it won't be for long.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all there is to enjoy outdoors.
Take a lot of pictures so you can share them as time permits.
have a blessed day.

First off, love your banner... and the pictures, always so great. Same thing here... less time for blogging now that the gardening has started.
ReplyDeletethe photo of Truman is awesome.. so beautiful hiding in the grass. glad your grass is green and you can get outside. your cats life pretty much describes mine.
ReplyDeleteI have mowed once, and need to again. But when? It's supposed to rain ALL week.
ReplyDeleteCheryl
ReplyDeleteIt's so gorgeous there with the lilac blooms, your green grass, and warm weather.
Maybe I need to move back to Missouri!
I'm glad you're getting to enjoy it all, even if I'm still stuck in the snow.
Your pictures are so beautiful - I love Truman... sandie
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I love seeing your signs of spring in your area. The green grass and blooming magnolia look gorgeous to my eyes. Enjoy the outdoors!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the blogging Cheryl and now that the better weather is here I just can't make myself stay at the computer. Even with the rain today I have to get out of here. Lovely rural shots, we took a ride to Springfield Saturday and there were so many teeny calves on the ground.. :) Enjoy your week, I think it's going to be a little rain-filled but we will take it!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, wasn't this weekend beautiful? I don't really my the rain today, considering I have to get my taxes done. Your pictures are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDeanna

ReplyDeleteIsn't spring just wonderful, Cheryl? I think it has put new life in all of us... I know that I LOVE it!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat group of pictures --and Truman is doing what I love to do---sit in the grass!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
You are right about it being a busy time. We spent most of the weekend doing yard work and now the inside is looking a bit neglected.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing how spring looks in your neck of the woods. That tree is gorgeous, the calf is precious and Truman ... so cute.
oh we had a beautiful "outside" weekend as well. spring never seems to last long enough!!
ReplyDeleteTruman has a cushy life laying in the grass. When I was younger I did that. Love the birds nest you captured a shot of.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great start of the week to me. Have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures of spring. Not here yet but it is trying.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love when cats think they are invisible!
Looks like spring has arrived at your place- nice shots and Truman is a handsome fella!
ReplyDeleteSpring has arrived. Love the shots that express it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSpring has definitely arrived in your area. Too bad about your trees, hope you don't lose anymore. Love your spring photos, still waiting here!!
ReplyDeleteI've had a couple of calves that preferred to nurse from the back. Not surprisingly, they often ran around with poop on their heads.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see my lilac and forsythia trees in bloom again. I just love this time of year when the calves are born, it's one sign of spring :)
ReplyDeleteYour magnolia tree is gorgeous! Our neighbors have a beautiful big one that I enjoy seeing every spring. We did quite a bit of yard work this past weekend, but still have a long ways to go. My arms are full of scratches from the rose bushes. (I had to get in there and try to pull weeds that had grown up underneath. Sigh, it's a never ending battle.)
ReplyDeleteI love your kitty's green eyes in the green grass! Spring is really full bloom there!
ReplyDeleteWe are getting snow again so spring is playing "hide and Seek" here! I don't mind, as I know it will be warm again by the weekend and most will be melted and will help with the drought here. I do feel sorry for the nestig birds, however. Thye must be so confused!
Beautiful photos. So wonderful to get outside again. Hugs,Laura
ReplyDeleteTruman is so pretty in the tall grass. Do you have the expression: "Let's get out of this tall grass"? John uses it all the time. I've not been as busy as you have, but still have tried to do some cleaning up every day. I have to pace myself with this stupid foot, but I'll get there.
