Barn Charm

This barn was found along the highway just the other day while I was actually looking for bald eagles.  I didn't find any bald eagles on this run, but I was glad to see a few barns.  This oldie is just basically a shell now, and doesn't it kind of look like it's awaiting demolition?

Speaking of bald eagles, my husband was just telling me that he saw one flying overhead today (it's Monday as I write this) carrying a squirrel.  I'd love to know where the nest is!

  2. Such huge openings! It's definitely looking worn and weary, but it's still got some beauty to it--a wonderful find! :>)

  4. I've also started photographing the old barns....I'm afraid in the very near future, they will all be torn down, leaving us with just the shiny new metal barns.

  8. Does look like the barn is ready for demolition. I remember a few years ago, there was a huge eagle's nest located next to one of our major roads in the area. The state blocked off certain areas near that nest and signs were posted to protect that area. Huge fines if anyone was caught in that area. As you can see....we don't see them often around here. Hope you find the nest and can get some great pictures.
    Have a blessed day.

  9. The basic frame of the barn looks very sturdy. Someone could have a very nice barn with a little TLC

  11. i like the barn and it doesn't look sad to me, it looks like a grand old lady of a barn, and the animals can still take shelter under that old roof. i wish our Eagles would come get our squirrels, and leave the birds alone.

  17. Definitely looks like the owner has lost interest in keeping that barn but it does make for a good picture.

  30. How great that barn must have looked it's day.....The framing still looks straight and solid. Too bad someone couldn't bring it back to its former glory, but I know that's an expensive proposition.
