Spring blossoms

Our weather has been a topic of conversation everywhere I go this
spring.  No one that I know has been happy with the very chilly days for this time of year, not to mention the cloudy and rainy days.  I didn't
get to see the Full Pink Moon the other night due to the overcast skies.

But, I did see some pretty pink blossoms when I went in search of pretty flowering trees and shrubs on one of those rare beautiful days.   Two of my favorites are the Redbud Tree and the Flowering Almond shrub.

I've lost some redbud trees due to the drought last year and a butterfly bush, also a couple of perennials will have to be replanted.  Do you
have anything that that needs to be replanted?

We were out of town over the weekend and I've not had a chance to visit everyone.  I hope to get caught up soon!

Until next time...

  3. Pretty Spring shots Cheryl. We lost about 4 Oaks, 3 Burning Bushes, 2 Redbuds, some Barberry and lots of little things we were used to seeing pop up in Spring. Some Oaks are still questionable. My Peonies though are doing great. Hopefully it will warm up and I will have some blooms. I actually heard Sharon Ray on 17 mention SNOW last night!! Good Grief!!!!

  4. Hum, maybe that is what killed my butterfly bush. I thought maybe the voles got it. That one broke my heart.
Love all your pretty blossoms. We are past that now and are just bathed in lovely shades of green.

  9. Hi Cheryl, Great blooms in your area... We lost a few roses due to the weird March and April weather this year... We'll replace them.

Our Redbuds and Pink Dogwood are okay--but didn't bloom as good this year as in past years...

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We had between 4-6 inches of rain --and it truly rained all weekend long...

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  12. I have plenty of Redbud pictures, but none close, because they can be so sparse. But yours is excellent!!! Not to the big pink blooms, we have TONS of them and I was told they were ornamental cherry, HOW do I tell the difference? I am going to compare your leaves with mine. I have never heard of this almond tree...

  13. The blossoms are beautiful! I can hardly wait to see some HERE in Ontario.

  14. In comparing them, yours have bigger petals and mine look more dense and tight, like carnations. So mine are cherry, not almond.

  15. Love those flowers.
I lost most of my shrubs in the drought even tho I watered them. The good part is now I can plant something that blooms.

  16. Aren't those blooms delicate and beautiful! We need to plant some more azaleas but it's too late now...we have to plant in the winter in Florida! Hugs!

  17. Beautiful photos. We lost many trees in our woods and a flowering crab in the yard. It is a year for rethinking and redoing the yard. Our biggest loss was a beautiful burr oak down in the field. Gosh I hated losing that tree!

  18. Lovely to see these gorgeous blooms. All we have thus far are forsythia and daffodils...we are quite behind this year because of the cool temps.
