Another update and another very HOT day...

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day
listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds
float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.   ~John  Lubbock

Hello everyone!  Hubby is still doing great following his heart attack two weeks ago.  He's battling a head cold, but other than that he feels fine.   He will go in for a sleep study for the apnea this week and goes back to the doctor next Tuesday.

We've haven't gotten very far from home in this heat.  Will it ever cool down?  I think the heat is affecting my brain, I forgot my chiropractor appointment last week!  It's probably a waste of time as I've not been doing the exercises he gave me to do lately....bad girl!

Hubby has been holding down the recliner and watching a lot of TV since he's off work.  I watch some of the HGTV shows with him and some FOX news.  I can only take the news in small doses because I just get so AGGRAVATED at what I hear.  Politicians!!  Sorry, I'd better not go there.  Speaking of TV:

Some doctor on TV this morning said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started.
So I looked around my house and saw things I'd started and hadn't finished.  Then I finished off a bottle of Vodka, a bodle of Baileys, a botle of wum, a pock of Prungles, 1/2 chesecke an a bocs a choclezt.  Yu haf no idr how bludy fablus I feeeel now.  Plaese sned dhis orn to dem yu fel ar in ned ov innr peese.

Ha!  I really love a good laugh and even though I'm not a "drinker", I had to laugh at that one!  Life is full of problems, heartaches, worries and cloudy days...take a moment to find someone to laugh with or something to laugh at when you can.

Until next time...

  4. Good new about your Hubby Cheryl! And do I ever have to fight the crankies with this heat. I need it to break so I can get outside and do my heart walks! I can barely stand getting out there and watering my container plants!

  5. Glad to hear your husband is doing so well.

I am like you I can only take the news in small doses. We both get so upset that we have limited watching those fools. Politician has become a dirty word in our house.

  7. That was a cute one. So glad to know that your hubby is doing well despite the danged head cold like he needed that with all that's going on. One day at a time and pretty soon things will be much better and the good thing is you'll be feeling better too. So wish I could bottle up some of this wonderful Maine weather we've been having because I think the rest of the country needs a break.

  8. So glad your hubby is doing so much better though a head cold seems to be cruel and unusual treatment.
I am not a drinker either but laughed at that piece.
Take care and stay cool. We are looking at the worst week so far this year. Boy did the Chamber of Commerce lie to me about average summer temps when I thought of moving here.

  12. Drunking before noon is always a good thing!

    Just kidding.

Glad hubby is on the mend. Mine has been dealing with delayed pressure hives since May 24th. Good news is today is the first day that he hasn't had some hives so far!

If I finish everything I've started, well lets just say that would take a VERY long time!

    Keep cool! Crazy Mizzouree heat!

  13. It is great to hear that your hubby is doing so well! I can only take the news in small doses these days too. I wish we could fire every single one of those bozos, starting with the Obozo at the top!

The heat wears me down to almost nothing. Hopefully it will break next week.

    Take care. Stay cool!

  16. I love the photo and the quote. I wish it was possible to lie down in the grass and rest. This summer it has been just too hot and miserable to do much of anything except stay indoors in the a/c. That fountain looks like a nice cool place for a dip.

  17. Hi, just had to check out The Farmer's Daughter since this is the name of the country music dance hall where John and I met in San Antonio. A fun place for older single people to meet and dance. Like your blog and hope your husband does well with his recovery.

  18. That fountain in your first photo looks so refreshing. It does seem like this heat is here to stay. I've been staying in much more than I'd like, but the heat does me in.
I'm so glad to hear that your dear hubby is doing well. For a smoother recovery, I recommend minimal exposure to the political news. It's enough to raise anyone's blood pressure right now.
I got a kick out of your joke.
Take care and have a good weekend.

  19. So glad your husband is on the mend! The heat has been a killer this year along with that, no rain in our corner of Louisiana.

Your photo was so inviting and the quote so appropriate for this time of year.
    Stay cool..Carolyn
