Spring Brings Rain, Pretty Trees and Busy Days

Hello Blog Friends!  I'm still here.  This week has been a busy one and I've not been able to blog or visit as I'd like to.  I hope to visit soon.  BG and I are heading out to get our taxes done soon, so I thought I'd check in until time to go.

I have been enjoying seeing the beautiful flowering trees this spring when I've been out and about.  Redbud trees are my favorite, but these pretty trees in pink and white are a close second.  Not sure what they are so maybe someone can tell me.

We've had quite a bit of much needed rain this week.  Today is nice and sunny and it looks like we'll have a warm, dry weekend ahead.

I had another shot in my eye this week.  It hurt a little more the first day than last time, but the second day was better than it was last time so that was a plus.  One more to go.  At least I hope that is all for awhile.  I do think it may be a bit better.  He said the fluid was gone.

My daughter insisted on going with me to the eye clinic to drive me home.  I was happy to have her with me, but she wanted to go into the room and watch the procedure which might have not been a good idea because afterward she said that she was never having that done!  Well, you do what you have to do, right?

Afterward all was done at the clinic, we treated ourselves to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse.  My meal was the Roadkill, which is chopped steak with mushrooms, onions and cheese.  Yum!

My life is really just not all that newsworthy right now.  I'm busy with spring cleaning and the occasional road trip...to the grocery store or a doctor's office.  Such fun!

I'm so ready for a trip to Branson.  BG and I are talking about it and after having dinner over the weekend with 3 other couples who were talking about traveling, we realized it has been about 6 months since we've been there.  That's too long!  Someone mentioned how wonderful the Moses production at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson was and I'm really wanting to see it.

I'll be by to visit as soon as I can.  I know everyone is busy this time of year, too.  Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Happy Friday to you!

  1. Your redbud shots are beyond stunning!!! You really should frame them and hang them up or put them on a table. Then you will always have spring with you! I think the other trees may be ornamental cherry. And your robin picture is a real stunner! Gosh, I am so sorry about your eye. I know several people who are having that done. Yes, it is so easy to throw together a blog, but takes so much time to comment to everyone.

  6. Nothing happening my way. I grant you a pass. 👑 Ha! Your daughter sounds like my daughter. She'd be saying the same thing. Of course, it can go both ways. Oh I do hope that you and Mr. Farmer's Daughter (that sounds confused) have the chance to get away to Branson. Spring must be beautiful there. I was just looking over the cookbook from Branson the other day...it has some good ones for Easter.

  7. You sure have some lovely blooms your way, Cheryl. We are hoping to finally get into a warmer weather pattern next week after a snowfall on April 1 and several days of pouring rain this week. I would not have watched the procedure myself. Hope all goes well. And yes a road trip sounds like a great idea!

  8. The trees are so lovely. We have some like these in our neighborhood but not in our yard. I am glad that you are through with 2nd eye injection. It doesn't sound good at all but you do what you have to do. I can imagine that your sweet daughter was a bit freaked out. The good looked so yummy; I want a date night now to the Texas Roadhouse.
I always love your Branson trips and will look forward to a post on it. I really want to go there someday. Blessings and hugs~

  13. Not sure what those flowering trees are, but they sure are gorgeous. I will glad for you to be done with the injections, too. That does not sound like fun, but yes, we do what we have to do.

  14. We have similar trees all over the neighborhood and I have no clue as to their names. What is awesome is that they look like regular 'ol trees until spring! I'm terrible.

I am behind on blogging so let me know what is going on with your eye. A needle...ugh. I used to be brave at the dentist and at the doctor getting stitches for this and that...now I can't even look at blood getting drawn. We were a little adventurous and wild when we were young, right?

Something always going on here but not always interesting. My daughter Emily has to go to the ER last week with a kidney stone. She's okay, but not sure if it passed. It was painful. Anyway, who cares if I write about it? ;-D

Spring weather is around the corner. I hope to get back into the swing of writing, perhaps shorter posts but making contact with you lovely ladies once or twice a week.

  16. Oh what gorgeous photos of those trees! Like you, redbuds are my favorites...or is it the pink dogwood?? So hard to decide! You Texas Roadhouse lunch does look pretty amazing...the Road Kill, huh?....OK :) It's good to hear that you are coming to the end of those eye injections....sure hope they solve the problem! My hubby and I would love to go to Branson! Have a great week!

  17. yours blooms are beautiful! we don't have a Texas Roadhouse here, I miss their bread.
my grandma had eye injections and one was really painful for her. I wish I could have been with her. hope your eye will be all better and three will be enough.

  18. Those trees have surely got to be dogwood. They're the state flower of Virginia, where I lived for a time. Glad you got the eye thing done, but sorry it hurt. I hate going to doctors and dentists. Yuck.

Nothings been going on here either. I have a few things to post about that are left over from a few weeks ago, but other than that silly post I wrote yesterday, I haven't had the energy to do much other than sneeze lol Thank God, this cold is leaving me!

Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful Easter, my friend :)
