Random 5 Friday

~February sunset~

My randoms for this week:

1.  We're setting our clocks forward this weekend.  Why can't they just leave it one way or the other?

2.  I'm really excited about finding out where a Bald Eagle's nest is, thanks goes to BG for showing me.  It's a bit of a distance from the road, but I'm hoping to get a photo soon.

3.  I envy people who can make up their minds what they want quickly.  I'm still pondering what color to paint a wall shelf.  Sheesh, you'd think I was going to paint something really important!

4.  It's supposed to be near 60 degrees today.  Yesterday was nice enough that I had to roll my window down a bit in the car for some cool air after the inside had heated up from sitting in the sun.

5.  I want to get some photos enlarged and put in frames.  Care to share where you get your photos enlarged?  I've had a few done at Wal.Mart, but I'd like to try somewhere else.

Until next time...

  1. A stunning photo! I'm with you with the time change - we in the UK put ours forward at the end of March, but why? What's wrong with GMT all year through? Made sense in a rural economy, but not any more!
A great Random 5 and I hope you have a great weekend :)

  2. Photo's like the one you just shared reminds me of what we have in this earth of ours. What a beautiful home we all share.
I have an issue with the time changes too. The time is the time no matter what you call it. Hmmm..does that make sense? Walmart is where I had my pictures done and they did a terrible job. They were all crooked. :) Ah well.
Being a Libra I tend to fence ride all the time. You are NOT alone!

  3. That sunset is gorgeous. Places are few and far between that do photos.

  4. I use the on-line service Shutterfly and have been very happy with them. I look forward to more light in the evenings with the time change.

  6. Oh I cannot wait to see the Bald Eagle. Warm days yeah.
Just leave the clocks alone is all I want to tell whoever does that:) Hug B

  7. The only good part of the time change is that we'll see more sunlight. Yay.

The other day, I thought I was seeing things. About a 1/4 of a mile from the house, I (thought I)saw an eagle flying low in a circle and landing on the ground. But I had to drive on and couldn't see that far. Then in our paper, there was a picture of two that were in that area.

  8. Sixty degree weather sounds perfect for finding the Bald Eagle nest . . . I hope there is a Eagle sighting to go with it!

  9. Beautiful shot! I'm with you -- leave the clock alone -- one way or the other! Exciting about the eagle. 60 here, too. I'm going to enjoy the sun being out! Happy Friday!

  11. What a beautiful sunset! I wish I knew a good place to get photo enlargements. You'll have to let us know if you find a good one. And it takes me forever to decide on a paint color! lol Good luck! Hugs!

  16. Your pictures are always so beautiful, Cheryl. I have only had my photos enlarged once and I just used the local drugstore...Rite Aid. I'm no expert and can not advise. I just know that it was quick and cheap.

  17. WOW,that February sunset would be so beautiful framed. I too would like to see the time change stay one way. So glad your temps. have gotten warmer, we are cold today but tomorrow is going to be in the 60's.

  18. I am tired of the clock-changing too. I think it used to have something to do with with the days when more kids worked on their parents' farms after school, but I am not sure. I wish we would do away with it.

  19. Hubby gets all of our photos done online at Zazzle. We have had GREAT luck with that....

I'm excited for you in finding the eagle's nest. Hope you do get photos.

Our weather right now is great also... Bring on Spring --I say.. BUT--I think colder weather is coming back toward the end of next week... Gads!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  22. Love your picture Cheryl. I wish we didn't have to monkey with the time...but it's okay, as long as Spring is on it's way.:):) Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

  24. A car seat so hot you had to roll your window down, sounds heavenly!
I think taking forever to make decisions must have something to do with age. I seem to have to ponder everything now! You're not alone...

  25. Our warm up is just a tease but I'll take it.
This is the one time change I LOVE. I finally get to go to bed at a decent time. Now like a 9 year old instead of a 7 year old.

  29. I am so with you about the time change. I wonder what they think it (the change) accomplishes. Maybe they just like to think about all us numskulls going through our houses resetting clocks.

  30. Shutterfly.....they do a really good job!!! And it's online....just load up your photos to their sight and make a canvas or poster picture! They also make photo books and they have sales all the time...and email you bargains....like 101 prints for FREE! I love them!

  31. I have always questioned the wisdom of the whole clock-changing thing...but I am looking forward to longer evenings beginning this week.

We have used Walgreens to make copies, enlargements, and gifts. I have also used Sam's Club and Walmart. I love that I can do all the work at home, then go and pick up at my convenience.

    Gorgeous sunset picture!!

  32. For everyday, journaling or swappig photos I go to SAMS Club. For important photos, hanging on the wall or gifts, I go to a professional developers place, where wedding photographers or professional photographers go. There is a difference and I found that the prices are only slightly higher. It is more than worth it.

  33. hi cheryl, i pint my pictures at home, up to 8 x 10 and love the results. i have a cannon printer.

i got 2 amazing fames at pier 1 imports. it's 9 actual frames, that are connected together, all different sizes and it hangs from 2 hooks. it makes a wonderful collage and i love the look.

i actually just picked up another one, same place that i love even more. i am going to fill it with different, favorite sunset images!!

it was 60 degrees here at the shore today and we had an action packed day. i am not looking forward to loosing an hour ;)

  36. I totally agree that we should keep our clocks one way or the other! It's like jetlag both in the spring and in the fall, for about 2 weeks. Grrr.

I've had great success having photos enlarged and good quality at Posters XXL. One bedroom in our house is lined with framed posters of Yorkshire.

  37. O, shoot...I keep trying to remember to do this Random 5 Friday and keep forgetting 'til it's all over and done with.
    Your photo is beautiful...

  38. Hehehe! So funny, Cheryl...agreed about the time change...argh! I am the exact same way about making up my mind about ANYTHING! I'd love to have tea/coffee with you! You make me smile! xoxo Jen

  39. I love your random 5 today. The picture is spectacular. I will look forward to your Eagle pictures.
I to think we should just have one time. One hour doesn't seem that important.
I can hardly wait for 60 degree weather.
    Blessings for you!
