Happy New Year!!
This is the scene that I woke up to yesterday morning. It looked like a winter wonderland. Very pretty. Very cold. Just the right amount to me...2-4 inches. What does it look like in your part of the country?
I spotted these two pretties waiting for their turn at the feeder.
A White-breasted Nuthatch also waiting for a place to eat. If you notice the white spots, that is snow still coming down at the time.
Mr. Chickadee has already feasted several times. They fly in and grab a quick bite and fly off again in no time.
This scripture that always comes to mind when I'm watching the beautiful birds and is very comforting in these uncertain times.
What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
Matthew 10:29-31
I wish for you a wonderful 2013 filled with peace, joy, health and happiness!! Thank you to each of you for your wonderful friendship during the past year.
Until next time...

Cheryl these are beautiful pictures. Love the one of the Cardinals. I always think of that scripture when I see the tiny birds out foraging in the snow. Sometimes one will fly into a window and lay lifeless on the ground and it breaks my heart but I remember this verse too. God bless you in this new year. Pamela
ReplyDeletethank you, dear cheryl. these are beauties. love the clean snow.
ReplyDeletefoggy, misty, 40s but dropping to freezing again tonight. damp and cold. brrr... :)

Your photos are just beautiful. The red bird against the snow is especially pretty.
It's cold, cloudy and gray, an inside day!

What beautiful photos! Happy New Year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of winter is all the birds! We have had steady rain but it hasn't slowed down our feathered friends at all. We even had to refill the feeders this afternoon to keep everyone happy. Can't wait for Great Backyard Bird Count in February! Stevie @ ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com
ReplyDeleteCheryl - I love the red cardinal in the white snow - how pretty is that? A nice way to start the new year. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteGod's blessings for you and yours this new year. I love that second shot- awesome!
ReplyDeleteHaven't been around in awhile but going to try and do better with keeping up with the bloggers I like to read. Your pictures, as always, are absolutely beautiful. So far we have had NO snow which suits me just fine, although we really need the moisture. Happy 2013, Bev.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both out in the snow snapping pics of birds coming to our feeders - is it a sickness? LOVE your pics.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo's! I need to get a feeder. I always try to photograph cardinals, but they are too fast for me. We had snow, but just a skiff. It's mostly melted. It's 14 degrees out this morning. Brrrrrrrr!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! We got about half of the snow that came your way. And yes it's cold. Brr.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your photos especially the cardinal. Wow.

ReplyDeleteWe did get snow. About 3 inches worth. I'm not much on winter and will be very happy when Spring is here. Nothing like wishing my life away!
ReplyDeleteYou had a very pretty New Year day! The bird pictures are really beautiful. I especially like the Cardinal. We don't have them here but we do have beautiful blue Stellars Jays. I haven't seen many birds lately probably because there are several cats hanging around. I just today put a small feeder on my front deck hoping the birds will feel safer thare.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. No snow for us here! Sorry not to have visited in awhile; such a busy time of year. Hopefully, I'm back on track now!Happy New Year!
