~Coco~
It's Friday! I've decided that each Friday, at least for a while, I'm going to post a photo from the past depicting something that was meaningful to me in years gone by. This week my photo shows Coco, a favorite kitty of mine who lived with us around 30 years ago. There is not a lot to say about Coco except that she was an exceptionally good kitty and we loved her a lot. I don't remember how old she was when she left us, but she had lived many years.
This is my daughter many years ago with an armful. I think her favorite kitty in those days was whichever one would let her hold them. I do know that Coco was special to her, too. That is her bed in the first photo with a Holly Hobbie quilt that Coco is resting on. Any one remember Holly Hobbie?
Sissy is home today from an overnight stay at the Animal Hospital. I took her in yesterday to get spayed. Poor baby had her tummy shaved and is looking pretty chilly without all the fur to help keep her warm. It will be interesting trying to keep her calm for a few days.
Until next time...
WHat a FABULOUS idea to post something from the past...thanks for sharing some of your past with us. Coco looks like a beautiful kitty...and your daughter reminds me of me when I was that age. I always loved my kitties, and always had one or two! Hope Sissy isn't too mad at you for the surgery! Stay warm - will check in with you after our trip!
ReplyDeleteCoca was a beautiful cat with a mysterious look.
ReplyDeleteGlad Sissy is recovering. Too bad humans can't recover from a hysterectomy with the ease pets do.
Oh, Cheryl, I LOVE the photo of your daughter with her armful of kitty!! Precious! You will be enjoying these Friday memory days... so will I! ;) blessings ~ tana
ReplyDeleteMorning Cheryl, wow!!! thirty years, wonderful to have a pet that l;ong.....Love your Idea....looking forward to Fridays, Francine.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea too Cheryl! An armful there is sweet! Coco too.
ReplyDeletePrecious idea!
ReplyDeleteAnd precious 'Coco'! Our first family cat (I'd had many, when growing up) was a calico too. A stray, which adopted us. :-) The sweetest dear kitty cat in all the world.
Love your pic of your little girl too.
And all the best to your "recently-shaved-and-fixed" kitty. -grin- and to you, for keeping her quiet, letting those stitches or whatever, heal. :-))))
And remember, you have been advised to rest yourself, my Dear!!!! To fully get over the "IT" bug. :-)
"Auntie"
i looked at and read about your sweet memories and then looked over to your side bar and saw this.
ReplyDeleteit is the sweet, simple things in life which are the real ones after all. ~Laura Ingalls Wilder and that quote says it all...
I do remember Holly Hobby. Such a sweet character. Wonderful photos of favourite cats. :)
ReplyDeleteCoco was so well named because I thought I was coming in here to find a chocolate cake recipe. No kidding. My old eyes!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I do remember Holly Hobby. My daughter had some things with that brand as I recall...vaguely. I think she had a Holly Hobby dress, in fact. And I know that she gave me a Holly Hobby potholder one year for Christmas.
Hope that your little furbaby does very well adjusting and has a good recovery time.
So you have always loved cats!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like our fur babies - cats or dogs. I hope your little one is okay and does well.
Awww, Coco was darling. This post is a awesome idea! Poor Sissy, she's probably wondering what happened to her. She'll be ok. Just take a few days.
ReplyDeletesweet fluff coco. and your daughter is adorable with those kittens.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet, we once had a cat that looked exactly like Coco, her name was Melissa, and she too was a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteLoved the photo of your daughter with her kitties, it reminds me of how my sisters and I played with kittens, they were our babies and we would dress them in doll clothes.~smile~
Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sue

Holly Hobbie - haven't heard that in years! :)
Sweet photos packed with memories!
ReplyDeleteI've had many cats and each has it's own special place in my heart. A lovely idea to pay tribute to your memories Cheryl. xo
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Holly Hobbie! I embroidered two Holly Hobbie pictures years ago - will have to post about them sometime.
ReplyDeleteAnd kitties have always been close to my heart.
Love these pics!
We were never cat people until one won our hearts, we have 2 now and lost a third over a year ago. Coco looks like she gave a lifetime of love.
ReplyDeleteNeat photos. I have a favorite kitty (shh don't tell the others) who passed in 2004. She was as ornery as can be, but so very loved.
