Monday's Musings and a Barn

Thanks to all who suggested names for our
newest kitten...the foundling.  We haven't
decided on a permanent name as yet.
We have been calling her Peanut since her
arrival.

Did having a holiday in the middle of the
week throw anyone else besides me off
the last several days?  Things have been a bit
off-kilter for me, I can't seem to keep track
of the days or time.  Maybe the heat
is getting to me.  How that happened when
I'm staying inside as much as possible with the
a/c running full blast, I don't know!  :)

Some clouds moved in and teased us with the possibility of
rain.  We got only a few drops.  It has cooled off from
105 degrees to the low 90's.  I'm happy for those who
did get the rain, it is very much needed right now.

My barn for this week's Barn Charm is standing in a
corn field and was taken late in the day last week.

For viewing some fantastic barns around
the country, be sure to visit Tricia's Barn Charm.

 Until next time...

  12. I like Peanut. Our two kittens have multiple names. Peaches and BamBam is what we named them, but most of the time they are called Sister and Brother, and of course Sweetums. :)

  23. I was definitely off kilter last week. Thankfully I went back to work yesterday and think I'm back on schedule now.
My chihuahua (Peanut) and I think Peanut is a great name :).
I do hope you get rain. We've been in a dry, hot spell too, but in the middle of the night we had a thunderstorm roll through.
    Keep cool.

  25. I like the name Peanut!

We got about an inch of rain... was so relieved! The temperatures are supposed to climb today, but not even close to the 110 of last week.

Nice barn. Such classic, straight lines!

  26. Especially loving your pic of the pink roses......

Me'thinks that having to stay inside in A/V, can be sort of depressing and *discombobulating.*

Yes, we are glad we have the weather relief. But also yes, we miss open windows and a natural breeze. -sigh-

    :-)

  27. The off kilter feeling is probably worry about the heat & lack of rain... it's unsettling, to say the least, isn't it.

Peanut will probably stick & it's a cute name.

The barn is great, but I'm loving the sunset shot! WoW!!!

    Thank you for joining =)

  28. Hi Cheryl, Yes---this summer has taken alot of energy out of all of us I'm afraid... We are so hot --and DRY here... Cold front keeps coming (they say????) but hasn't gotten here yet.

Have a great day. We are STILL waiting on RAIN. It went all around us last night.. Grrrrrr.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  31. Peanut sounds purr-fect.
Love your red roses, heavenly skies.. sadly without rain and a charming barn.
I hope the corn gets water soon.

  32. We have gotten rain and wow what a difference it has made. Green is returning along with mid to high
80's. Happy day and hope it hits you soon.
I can see by the corn in that barn shot that crops are suffering.

  33. As usual I loved your pictures and the barn one is a great one. We had a quick rain storm that helped with some huge wild fires here in Utah. It last for a day and now we are back into the 100's. It's a worry with all the drought conditions. We are certainly praying for more rain.
Thans for your thoughts today and blessings to you!

  36. Hi Cheryl!

It doesn't take much to get me confused these days! When a holiday is in the middle of the week, it just messes everything up... ;0)

I love the barn, so majestic looking!

  40. Love the bright colors of your flowers. I ventured out yesterday too. I wear glasses and hate that they steam up the minute you go from air conditioning into the heat. Dang! can't see a thing.

I was really confused this week. Terry's Birthday was Monday and I thought it was giong to be on Tuesday. That has never happened before! oops!

  41. yes, I felt off-kilter last week and feeling summer is flying by...
