Good morning!  We have another day of sunshine in store and the forecast is for many hot days ahead.   How was your weekend?  Before I get to the main topic in today's post, I want to welcome my newest followers.  Also, I wanted to answer a question about the flower in last Thursday's post.  The white flower is a zinnia which has lost many of it's petals.  I love zinnias.  They are a hardy flower and very easy to grow.

Now, on to the good stuff!!

I was nominated for 3 awards last week!!

For the first two, I want to say a big Thank You to Cranky Puppy Farm for nominating me for One Lovely Blog Award and the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.  Cranky Puppy is a fellow Missourian who hopes to move to their 40 acre farm some day.  She has a great blog along with wonderful photos.  Be sure to drop by for a visit!

Next, I want to thank Dianna at These Days of Mine for choosing me as one of the nominees for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.  Isn't that a great name for an award?  Among the blogging world is a wonderful group of women who have so much in common and who are blogging sisters/friends.  I am so glad to be part of this sisterhood!  Be sure to visit Dianna's lovely blog if you don't already know her.

Now, in order to accept these awards I must choose 15 other bloggers for the first two and 5 bloggers for the third to pass along these awards to.  You probably see my dilemma, so I'm going to take the easy way out and invite anyone who would like to have any or all of these awards to choose them and let me know if you do.  There are many who choose not to participate in awards now and part of that reason is to avoid hurt feelings.  I don't wish to leave anyone out because all of the blogs I read are deserving of awards, so I hope those who nominated me will allow me to give my awards to whoever would like to have them!

Lastly, I am to tell 7 things about myself that you don't already know, so here in no particular order are my 7 things:

1 -  I miss having a piano in the house.  We sold my square grand  because we didn't have enough room for it in this house.  I have a electronic keyboard, but its not the same.  I'm really not that great a pianist, but I still love to play.  It's relaxing.

2 - I used to love to dance, well I still do, but Mr Twinkle Toes doesn't so I dance to music in my kitchen all by myself.

3 - I love music, but can't carry a tune.  I wish I could sing like Barbra Streisand.

4 -This makes me a bad wife, I guess, but I hate making my hubby's lunch every day!  In all fairness, he probably hates eating them.

5 - I love magazines and have many including a stack at least 4 foot high.  I've always intended to go through them and clip what I want to keep.  Maybe someday.

6 - I've always been told that I look much younger than I am, which aggravated me to be treated like I was still a kid when I wasn't.  But now, I like it, even though I'm not exactly treated like I'm a kid any longer.  Ha!

7 - I'm having sleep issues, not getting enough sleep, so I know that it will only be a matter of time that I can cross out # 6!

Until next time...

  3. Congratulations on all your awards. How great for you.

LOL.... I used to collect magazines too. It got to be such an eyesore that I ended up getting rid of all but a few.

I wonder if your magnesium, zinc and maybe potassium is low. When my magnesium is low, I don't sleep well. I didn't have mine tested at the doctors but just started taking a liquid magnesium chloride. Most magnesiums will give the runs but the chloride doesn't do that to me.

  4. Congrats on the awards!
    You deserve them :)

So nice to learn a bit more about you too.

Sorry that you've not been sleeping well... hopefully you'll figure out why, and get the sleep you need.

I too hate making my husbands lunch... so, I try to start the night before, packing all the non-perishables..like granola bars, trail mix etc.

    Have a good one!

  8. Congratulations on the awards.

I loved knowing those new things about you! I sold our piano because it was so big and I do miss it!

I can't dance and neither can the superhero, but we have been talking bout lessons for years.

I can relate on the sleep problems. I will admit that, on doctor's advice, I take something every nite of my life. Sleep is too precious to miss! I hope you start sleeping better soon!

  10. Congratulations on the well deserved awards! I enjoyed learning a bit more about you. Had know idea you could play the piano. I wouldn't enjoy making those lunches either, so there are probably a lot of "bad wives" out there!

Have a great day and try to stay cool.

  14. Congrats on your awards! I love zinnias also, they are easy to grow and provide a ton of flowers to enjoy! I play the piano also and love a PIANO! I have been tempted many times to sell our piano and get something smaller as a keyboard but I'm like you and would miss the piano. Enjoy your day!

  24. You're so welcome, Cheryl! I always love reading about your adventures on your blog. I used to have your #5, but I took a whole day to myself and just went through the stack. I was exhausted when I got done! And poor J. almost had to get a forklift to take out the recycle bin. :-)

  25. Having gone through periods of time when sleep was elusive, I'll wish you a speedy shortcut through it all. You're right, nothing makes a person more haggard than lack of sleep. I know so well.

I don't think you can call your hubby that nickname if he won't dance. =D

    Congrats on your awards!

Oh I hate making John's lunch, too, so I rarely do it. He can handle breakfast and lunch. I'm only on for supper. LOL!

  26. I've had the issues with sleep - awful awful not beable to sleep -- what's helping me is ear plugs..
I get that way to about making lunch but knowing it always taste better when someone else make it for you - a least that's been my experience.. and that's my sweetheart's comment too!
