I've been on a blogging break.  It was totally unplanned and I
really didn't intend to be away so long.

I did some heavy cleaning about a week or so ago and I moved/lifted too
many heavy things and it caused my back to flare up again plus
I've had some sinus/vertigo issues.

So nothing exciting like a vacation or trip kept me away, just lack of time and energy for the computer.

This is a beautiful Spring and we've had rainy days and wonderful sunny days this past week.
The redbuds in our yard are blooming their little hearts out this year.  They are one of my
favorite flowering trees.

The lilacs are also blooming now.  I can't remember when they've been this early.

The Goldfinch still hasn't changed into his yellow summer wardrobe yet.

Speaking of wardrobes, I did get my spring/summer things out of
storage.  It is nice to wear something that isn't heavy for warmth.

I'll get around to all the blogs I read soon and see what you have been
up to.  Hope you are enjoying beautiful spring weather wherever you are!

Until next time...

  1. These pics are so pretty! Love Lilacs! Are you on Flickr?

  2. What beautiful photos to roll us into spring. I really like that goldfinch trying to change his 'clothes' right in front of the camera.

  3. welcome back, we missed you. i have back problems and also the sinus vertigo thing, so i can relate. hope all is well now. the pics are glourius and shout spring is here. we had 4 inches of rain yesterday and everything is reaching for the sky and green and beautiful.

  4. I think the spring causes all of us back problems. We work to hard after a winter break.

  5. You know as I was going to sleep last night and going through my mental list - I was thinking and wondering what happened to you. I am glad it was just a break and you are okay!

I love your pictures of the flower and the beautiful bird.

    Love, sandie

  6. Oh girl...I sure hope you are feeling better! Sounds like you were hit with it hard...back problems and sinus issues. Both are not good!
Your pictures of the Spring buds are so very pretty..I love seeing the newness of life during the Spring...
Take care and I do hope all is well now.

  7. Take your time... Sounds as if you've been dealing with a lot. I've been icing my back daily and it seems to help.

What beautiful blossoms and your lilacs are blooming already! Wow. They're beautiful, too.

    Great photography, my dear!!

  10. Good to hear from you Cheryl! I understand about the blogging break. Glad you are feeling better. Oooo the back can be so touchy and painful and take awhile to get back to normal. Beautiful Spring shots from your bit of MissouREE country! Take care!

  11. i'm hoping this means you're feeling much better, again! GORGEOUS photos from your yard! :) our red bud barely pushed out a few blooms before leafing this year. but at least it's still alive!

  12. Welcome back! Your spring bloom are beautiful. We had summer here last week but it's back to spring (almost winter) this week, sadly. It was in the mid to high 70's and now it's 32! Brrrr. Our snow is gone though. I noticed the goldfinches here are about the same colour as yours - no new feathers yet! They are so pretty aren't they? Have a great week. Pamela

  13. So glad to hear from you and see your beautiful photos.
Take care of yourself and don't overdue.

  14. Glad you're back Cheryl! Wish you had been on vacation instead of under the weather. I know personally that back problems aren't easy to deal with, hope it's getting better. You've got some beautiful blooms in your yard! Looking forward to the little finch getting even prettier. :)

  15. There's nothing nicer than beautiful spring flowers and colorful little tweeter at the bird feeder to make a day Happier.
    Your photos are gorgeous, Cheryl.

  16. I have been taking pictures of the redbuds, too. But your are better, you got great macros!!! I know how it goes with the computer breaks getting longer than and health just happens. I hope you don't have a sinus infection. I have had the vertigo really bad, it is no fun. sometimes Dramamine works.

  17. So sorry to hear that you have had back troubles... A lot of that going around, as they say. -sigh-

Beautiful photos! You are really well into spring, with the blooms to prove it. :-)

Hope you are still being nice to your back, even though feeling better. Our backs really *demand* special treatment, I believe. Or they "get back at" us. -grin-

    Gentle hugs...

  18. I've been worried about you.... Glad you're back!
Your pics are gorgeous. I couldn't begin to pick a favorite. All of our flowers and shrubs are blooming early too.
And it's supposed to be in the upper 30's tonight....brrr.

  19. Welcome back, Cheryl!
I just got back from a whirlwind trip to visit family, so I haven't been posting either.
I'm sorry about your back-I deal with the same problem. I hate the limitations it's put on my life now
    I hope you'll heal quickly.
How blessed you are to have spring already! I'm still waiting on it.

  20. Glad you are on the mend..I have missed your posts! Lovely lilacs..we really can't grow them here in the South so I am just a bit jealous.

  21. Beautiful, beautiful images.

  22. You certainly came back with a pocket full of gorgeous pictures....Love the finch....he's so cute....Glad you are better....
