Just one of those days

It was one of those days.  I looked online for tutorials
for my particular camera Tuesday night.  Found a
couple and bookmarked them for perusing later.
I am trying to learn more about shooting
close-ups.
So, yesterday, I looked in my bookmarks and
I couldn't find them anywhere.  I looked in
history and couldn't find what I needed there.

So I decided to go on to something else.
Stormy was the subject of some of my
close-up practice shooting since she was
in the middle of things anyway.  Well, she
put her little paw on the keyboard and I lost
what I was typing.  It was a nice little post
for today.  I didn't get it retrieved.  She got put
down on the floor.

I then decided that maybe this wasn't a good
time for blogging so I decided to look at the
news.

I don't want to talk about politics...at least
not today...I don't want to offend anyone.
But, is it just me or has M.axine pretty
well summed it up?

I turned off the computer, put in another
load of clothes, put away the ones that
were dry and got a book off the shelf.
After a few chapters, it was
time to fix something for supper.
I made potato soup and pondered what
happened to my bookmarks, thought about
politics, and decided that I'm really glad I'm not
married to a politician, but a computer geek
would sure come in handy some days.

Speaking of computer problems, I'm still
not able to comment on a few blogs.  I see
other people commenting there that I know,
but there isn't a comment box on my screen.
Anyone else still having problems with this?

Until next time...

  1. Cheryl, I am still trying to figure out the comment issue. What browser do you use? I know they have had issues with IE. I use Firefox.

Sometimes when you loose a website, you can check your history and find it again quickly.

Sounds like you had one of those routine days that I love.

Good luck with the new camera. That closeup looks great to me.

  5. I am still having problems commenting on Blogger blogs. Frozen screen. Saw you on Katie's blog and commented on your comment~it worked! I would love for CH to be a computer geek so he could make my Wordpress blog bedazzling and it would be great if he were a Cardiologist too because I am skeered to go to the Cardiologist. It makes my head implode to think about politics! Your close up snap of Stormy is sweet. Her little paw thought you needed some help ;)

  6. Don't you just love days like that? I think we all have them from time to time. I do agree with Maxine..the politics these days is so stressful..I just recently changed to fire fox. Have a great day.

  7. A computer geek in the house would certainly make for less stress. I can't comment on the comment issue as I haven't had it happen. I do use IE as a browser.
The subject of your photo close-ups is a cutie and I'd say Maxine is onto something :).

  8. I seem to be commenting on most of the blogs now. I think they must be working on the problem. Who knows if they will get it fixed though.

I don't like it when I have ONE OF THOSE DAYS!!

  9. Don't you hate these kinds of days? Your close up of your kitty is good!

  10. Yes, there are many blogs that have been switched to the new interface where I can't post. Maybe today I can, but tomorrow I won't be able. I've got an ongoing disclaimer going in my sidebar.

It's hard not to discuss politics in Blogdom, but I do understand that people want an escape from that so I don't do it either despite being a "political" person and one who discussed politics often in "real life." The cartoon did make me laugh.

  11. who discusses...it's an ongoing thing ;>

  12. Oh, Maxine is so right. Already I am sick of all the hype. So far I haven't had any issues with my blog. I use Chrome which is a google product, so maybe it is more compatible.

  13. i read blurbs posted on a google help forum and the common thread seemed to be use of Internet Explorer. so i switched to Google Chrome a few days ago and am able to comment and load blogs that i hadn't been able to before...

  14. I can't help you with your commenting problem. But I can laugh at you with Maxine's cartoon! Hope you find your bookmarks and that today is better! Enjoy!

  15. HI Cheryl, I had one of those 'computer problem' days recently... I kept trying --and things just got worse. I finally gave up... Just one of those days that we all have!!!!

Do you use Internet Explorer? I've heard from several people that IE is the problem. Change to Chrome or Firefox and see what happens.

So true what Maxine says.. I'm not sure I like any of them.. I know I don't like the one in office now! Nobody good wants to run for President since they get crucified by the media and others... I would never ever do it... Our poor country--don't know what will happen.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  16. Maxine is SO right.
Sounds like a 'Monday' kind of day.... I have had weeks of 'Mondays' :)
Soup sounds good right now...maybe I should make some for dinner.
I've not had any trouble with comments...knock on wood.
    Love that sweet kitty!

  17. Sounds like the kind of days I have all too often. I use Firefox and haven't had any problems commenting.

  18. I too have had problems leaving comments on certain blogs. It was suggested that I use Chrome..which I had already done... then someone suggested I use Mozilla Firefox and that seemed to wrok for right now. I suspect this is an on going screwed up mess for a few of us. My husband is a computer geek but doesn't have a perfect answer for all of this.

Good luck. It is more than agravating isn't it?

  19. I am in need of a computer geek myself...my computer's fan is so loud...last night it overheated and just quit and i had not even been on it half an hour...maybe 15 minutes. Thought I would try getting into the fan today and cleaning it...lets just say I did not get far till i chickened out.

I vote for my Bubbie for president...if you don't know who Bubbie is go to my Pics & Pieces blog and click on the label Bubbie. haha

  20. The potato soup sounds real good to me, we love soup! I haven't heard of this computer problem, interesting. This is a very sweet picture of your kitty!

  22. Cheryl
I, too, am still having trouble leaving comments on a few blogs.
Yep, I watched the debate tonight.
    Enough said!!

  23. Love your post (but sorry for your computer issues. And the comment issues.) LOVE the pic of Stormy, and I'm sure she didn't mean to delete your post.... She was just trying to help.

  24. Maxine said it all.
As for comments, if the box is embedded, it will block comments for me. Those with "full page" work the best. Frustrating.

  25. Your kitty picture is sweet.
I comletely agree with no president for four years!
    I love potato soup...yummy!
    I'm not having those issues.
    Have a great weekend Cheryl!

  26. You need to put that recipe on your blog.

Did you ever find your bookmark? I need to practice with my camera too.

And I LOVED that joke - PERFECT!

    love, sandie

  27. I have to say that being married to a computer geek is very handy. At least 1/4 of the phone calls with my parents include "Can I ask E a question about my computer?" and I will look at him, point to my monitor, and say "Why is my computer doing (or saying) that?"

And I'd agree with Maxine right now, too.

  28. All my comment issues have gone away. I didn't realize there was one now. If I see a solution, you betcha I'll let you know!

I had my chihuahua on my lap this morning and his little paw hit the keyboard.... I was like "nooooooooooooooo!" Like your kitty, he got put down.

I want a macro lens for my camera, but am not sure I can justify the cost.

I think Maxine might be onto something. I don't believe we will survive 4 more years of Obozo, but our other options leave me cold too. Sigh

It is supposed to be pretty here! We only got a dusting of that white stuff last night.

  29. Sweet kittie! I'm trying to figure out close-ups also, and having very little luck at it. Hope you are having a great week-end!
