Sometimes...

Sometimes there are no words...
to adequately describe how you feel.  I try to keep my posts happy and light, for the most part.  But sadness can be part of life and sadness is what I feel today for members of our community and also in our circle of friends.

Two in our small community chose to end their lives recently.
One because they had a terminal illness, and the most recent tragedy involved a beautiful young woman who had everything to live for.  No one has a clue why she would do this to herself or her loved ones.  It is such a shock.  So sad.

A young man passed away due to heart problems and the latest heart attack and stroke was too much for him to survive.

Yesterday, my husband got a call from an army buddy to tell him that another of his army buddies was just given a month to live.  That news hit BG pretty hard.  He is a good man and he and his wife had just built a new house and also recently welcomed their first grandchild.

Sometimes there are no words...
to adequately express feelings or sorrow or to tell those who are hurting how much you care.

I want to tell each of you how much I care about you.  You are each a unique and special person and important to someone...and important to me

Until next time...
xoxo  Cheryl

  2. I am in awe of your words here this morning. You stated it all so perfectly. Sad and never completely understood, so very difficult to deal with death, heartache, and caring.

I appreciate what you said, and, I care about YOU too.

  11. Such news ripples way out, doesn't it?! A friend of John's confessed a plan to end it all and we have been praying for protection of his mind since. I am praying for all who carry such sorrows and burdens. What is it that they say? Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. We need to keep our faith strong in trying times. Will be praying for your husband's buddy. Many a person is alive today who was given such a prognosis. Look at Valerie Harper!

  12. Such a poignant and heartfelt post, Cheryl. Sadly we often do not know or understand the depths of despair that others may be feeling that compels them to end their lives and leave such sadness for those left behind. Death by illness, sickness or accident is difficult enough, but by one's own hand is more so. I also treasure all my friends, including those met through blogging, whether online or in person. Thank you for caring.

  15. Morning Cheryl.....I'm so sorry for the losses of each of these people that you have known. You know...we all try so hard to keep the "Positive" flowing on our blogs, but we are all human and there are times when sadness becomes a part of our day, week, or month.... I am indeed, closer to some of my blogging friends than what I am to friends that I have known for a very long time. I care when any of you are sad or hurting! I think we all should be able to lift one another UP when we experience times like this. I thank you for sharing this because I can now be in prayer for you and your community..... Hugs girl....

  17. Oh Cheryl, my heart goes out to you as you feel the sorrow of so many losses. After reading your post and comments, I am glad that you chose to share this with us today. I have found the blogging community to be a compassionate bunch. While it may seem like our posts should be happy and pretty all the time, that just isn't real life. Life can be hard and, at times, hard to understand.
Sending gentle hugs your way today.

  19. I always pain for the families of those who commit suicide. It really is a selfish act to leave you loved ones with such confusion and pain.
All we can do is pray for these poor souls.

I too have gravitated to a a small circle of blogging pals that I truly care for and would be sad to not find them here. You take care and try to cheer up. Cuddle with a kitty.

  22. Cheryl...you are so right...sometimes there are just no words. I'm so sorry to hear about all of these sad reports. The great thing is, God needs not to hear one word to understand and comfort us. Sending you a hug today, friend :)

  23. Hi Cheryl~

So sorry to hear of all this sadness, I will never understand the decision some make to take their own lives. We have had more than our share of young people, still in high school, commit suicide, at least 4 or 5 in the last few years. It sure has a devastating effect on those loved ones, and school mates left behind. So sad, if only they could have reached out to someone. . .

Right now I am struggling with feelings that I have about a brother, who is dying of cancer. He is not close to our family, and does not want to be, it is all but killing my mother - please keep her in your prayers.

You are a special friend to me - so wish we could meet one day! Know that you are thought of often, and that you hold a special place in my heart!

    Gentle Hugs,
    Barb

  24. Aw Cheryl, I am so very sorry that so much sorrow has entered your life. These things do seem to come in bunches when we are the weakest and least prepared. Sending prayers and hugs to you, BG and the families of those who are hurting.

  25. Cheryl, I'm so sorry for your loss and sadness. My dearest friend recently dealt with her sister's death and her brother committing suicide. I often don't have the words to console her. Sometimes all we can do is listen, hold a hand, and pray. I will be praying for you and your family.

  26. Cheryl, sounds like the breath has been knocked out of you this week. I am sorry.
It's so hard to lose someone that we love and especially in a senseless manner.
Similar incidents have happened in our little community, and it shakes everyone.

You are in my thoughts, and prayers for those that are heart-broken and dealing with such trials.

    Sending you hugs...
    Kerin

  28. If you have visited my blog this month then you know that we too have suffered a real loss and it can really take your breath away. Sadness is a real part of life I know but oh how we wish we could ease this for those we care about. Just know that you are not alone and I along with many others send healing thoughts out to all who suffer today.

  29. There are so many loving, and kind comments I hope that you find some solace in the blogging friendships here. It seems like the small communities up in the Interior have all been hit hard lately, there has been a string of drownings..so many young people.

  30. I am sorry for your loss...even if not family we really feel it anyway. And the sad, bad thing...this is going to happen more and more often as we age. It can be a bit depressing to even contemplate sometimes.

  31. In our blogging community we all care very much for one another and our sad moments are included. I found that out when I lost my daughter. I am so sorry to hear of those that choose to take their own lives. It shows that we really don't know what is going on in any one persons head. Of course we like to share only the good..but life is not always "up" and it's okay to share when you are down. That is why we are all here in the first place. To share...and you do it wonderfully. As you can see..you are very much loved and we all care how you are feeling. Like you I want to always put out the happy..but that' just not the way life is.
We are here for you in good times and sad.
    Love
    Mona
