Good Fences

Our beautiful spring weather has turned chilly
and cloudy the last couple of days.  Maybe the cattle
across the highway from my house
are bawling because they are missing the warm
sunshine too!  Whatever the reason, they sure are
noisy this morning.

~water pencil~

I've been playing around in PhotoScape lately.  This shot of
the cattle that are directly across the highway from my
house was done in water pencil.

~original photo~

This plain and simple woven wire fence is what
I see when I look out my front door or windows.  I used
the zoom to bring the cattle a little closer.

I'm happy to be joining for the first time
for Good Fences.

Be sure to visit Theresa to see many different
fences and gates around the world.

Happy first day of May to you!

Until next time...
xoxo  Cheryl

  4. I saw someone else post about good fences.

I like going out for a walk with a specific item to look for.

Those cows look awfully close with your zoom lens!

  7. So this is right across the street from you...are you ever woken up by mooing? Again, I LOVE this edit!!! I tried it last night and it was not near as pretty as yours, it did not look good at all. But I am thinking you need to have just the right kind of picture. I love looking at your new edits!!!

    1. Yes, there is a small farm right across the highway. We live just at the edge of the city limits. I enjoy the sounds of the cattle mooing, it reminds me of days gone by when I grew up on a farm. It does get annoying sometimes when the calves are weaned from their mama and it is non-stop bawling!

And, thanks! I'm glad you like the water pencil editing. I've been having fun on these cloudy, chilly days playing around with it!

  8. hello Cheryl, I really enjoy looking at your photoscape edited photos. Is this app. Something I can get with my IPad Air. I just got my new iPad a few weeks ago and Iam still learning. Could you share what apps. You like with your IPad I editing and doing collages. I use PicMonkey on my computer and love it but is there anything like this you can get on IPads. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. Hugs Judy

    1. I don't have an iPad, Judy, so I'm not familiar with all you can do with it.

On my computers I have Photoscape, PicMonkey, iPiccy, piZap, Ribbet, BeFunky, Gimp and others for editing. Also Picasa which I have the Royale membership you pay a fee for to get more editing features. Honestly, most of my photos I use are not edited other than cropping and putting a frame around. Once in a while I'll tweak the color if it's too washed out, etc. I've been having fun playing the last few days with the water pencil in Photoscape. Of all the editing sites, my favorites are Photoscape, PicMonkey and Picasa. I used Picasa for the header I have now. Other headers and most of my collages were made with PicMonkey. Hope this helps a bit. Have fun!

  9. It's chilly here in north Alabama today, also. But this 50 something year old, old woman doesn't mind. Love me some cows, edited or not.

  14. That's a great photo of the cows! The editing had me wondering at the first photo. I thought it was a different sort of fence. :) It's a great rural scene. Cows are pastured across the road from our house in the summer and I often hear them bawling. Pam

  15. Oh phooey. I forgot to say rabbit rabbit again upon waking up. I'm never going to get any good luck.
You were definitely being watched. I've found cows to be as curious as cats.

  18. Great scenery from your windows! I have a lot of pastures around but the cows only show up occasionally as they are rotated to different places on the huge farm. I like your editing, too. Photoscape is my favorite way to edit.

  23. In my dream world, I have cows. And sheep. For milk and wool, because I could never bear to eat somebody I've fed.
I want to hug those cows in your photo. :)

  25. Great fence photos, Cheryl. Good Luck with your PhotoScapes.. Looks like fun. George has a Photos and Drawings blog --when he takes a photo and turns it into a drawing or painting. NEAT.

  33. Wow, I love those different pictures. Is it a computer web site that helps you do this with pictures?
I do love barns as you know but maybe I will pay more attention to fences.
    Blessings to you!
