Enjoying A Nice Fall Day

"I'm so glad that I live in a world where there are Octobers."
~L. M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

I'm loving this beautiful fall thus far, but the rain today makes me want to nap.  We were needing some rain, so I'm happy to see it.  To all the bloggers who may be affected by the hurricane...please stay safe!

I have to say that it's been hard to get back into the swing of blogging after a long break.  Nothing too exciting going on around here to tell about.  And not having a blog list in my sidebar isn't helping.  I'm going to have to get a new one started since it doesn't look like the old one is going to reappear.

Meanwhile....

A few fall touches have appeared around the house, courtesy of my daughter.  I'm enjoying the cozy feel that autumn brings to the inside of the house with a little fall decor added here and there.

Yesterday was spent at the Big Town.  While there, I found my car heading toward Upscale/Resale, so I forced myself to go inside since I was in the neighborhood.  Ha.  I only bought 1 book for 50 cents and a bundle of Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazines for a dollar bill.  Even though I don't need another magazine, I couldn't pass these up.

Now, I'm going to get to work on that new blog list for my sidebar, and hoping I can get BG to go out to supper with me.  Maybe he will if he sees I don't have anything started when he gets home from work!  Wish me luck....:)

  3. Your house looks so pretty! Especially the buffet. What are the beautiful flowers in your header? Mums? Love the color! I took a year off, so I know about getting back into swing of things. Don't worry about exciting, most blogs are not. Just your daily happiness and some pictures are fine! It's really kind of like snooping into people's lives.

  4. ...if our house caught on fire and I had time to grab only 2 things...my laptop (a lot of fam pics on it) and my stack of Home Companions. I actually cried when she stopped production of them...the best little magazine ever published.
Hope you get to go out to eat....

  6. Your fall touches look so pretty. I re-did my blog list too as it didn't seem to be planning to return any time soon. Now we will hope they stay where they belong.
I do hope you were successful in getting BG on board with the supper idea.

  17. Anne of Green Gables....how my daughter and I loved that series. She has since bought the entire set.

I want mums! I love that one you are showing. Somehow all of my mums have disappeared. Now would be a good time to get some selections.

Beautiful fall decorations in your home...so far, I just have the new dining room tablecloth.

Good luck with the eating out thing......

  18. Sweet touches of autumn around your home. Very cozy and welcoming. It is certainly true that when a blogger has been away for a while that getting back into it is a challenge. I think that you're doing well! Deborah at The Beautiful Matters had her blog list reappear. Wouldn't it be great if yours did, too? Course it's a good way to tidy up...to lose the list. Might as well think positively. Yes, it was Laurel's birthday. I usually don't think of wiffle ball games. =D

  25. I liked the fall colors inside your house, Cheryl. I can understand how it takes awhile to get back to posting. Once upon a time, we posted daily, now I aim for 3X a week. I do enjoy reading blogs of other folks, but sometimes there's a time crunch. Hope you enjoyed your getaway. Maybe it was to Branson?
