Beautiful Spring Day!

Did you have a nice Easter?  We did, although it was a wet one here.  We had a change of plans and met our son for dinner late Saturday afternoon and it turned out to be a good idea as the weather was so nice and the rain moved in Easter Sunday.

I puttered around the house yesterday and decided some changes were in order.  First of all, I took out the extra leaf in our oak table and now it's just a round table.  Just a wee bit of a change sometimes makes a big difference.

Last night was spent on the computer searching for photos to put on a memory stick so I can get some enlargements made.  I've searched for just the right pictures in the shops to put on the wall to sort of frame the tv but haven't found what I like.  So, I've decided to frame some of my own photos.  We'll see how that turns out!

Spring...a new season and a new beginning.  It always seems to me that spring heralds new beginnings more so than turning the calendar over to a new year.  Maybe it's because the new year comes while we're in the midst of winter.

Part of me is feeling the urge to clean the cobwebs and dust from the corners and perk up the house, but the other part is wanting to hop in the car and see more of spring down some country roads.

Which would you choose on a pretty sunshiney afternoon?

A no-brainer, you say?

Me, too.

I'll see you when I get back!

  1. You are like me Cheryl...I would take the drive in the country over cob webs any day...and speaking of webs, these you have captured are one of may favorite things. On my way to church on Easter, we had a drizzle and a misty fog in the morning and the road was just lined with these mini, moisture-beaded webs all along the road in the tall grasses! If I would have had my camera, I would have traipsed through them and snapped a few shots! Ha!

  2. Hello, pretty shot of the Sparrow. I would be out driving the country roads, the cleaning can wait for a rainy day! Have a happy day and week ahead!

  3. Oh yes, that is a no brainer. The work will be there on a rainy day,but nature needs your attention on a nice spring day.

  4. I have said all along that your work is suitable for framing. So glad you are going that route.
After retirement, the only thing we can't put off for a better time are doctor appointments. All the rest is fair game. Tour those roads.

  5. WELL---we've been working in the yard all day long --so I guess that's about the same as housework inside... YES---I'd choose to head out to see some Spring Beauty ---but the yard is calling our names this time of year.

Hope you did get out some --to see the beauty this time of year. We took a walk early this morning on the golf course.. SO GORGEOUS out there when the sun comes up.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  6. Hi Cheryl~

Oh my goodness, your blossoms are beautiful, and so is the little bird! I can hardly wait until Spring comes to Idaho! We have had winter storm warnings all day, not in our little town, but in towns and large cities all around us. It's cold here and very dreary.

I think it's such a good idea for you to print your own photography, I have seen many of them and they are beautiful! Please include a few of your amazing sunsets, they are some of my favorites.

My husband and I are planning our annual anniversary trip - I'm really getting antsy to get out of the house, and a week on the road with our trusty trailer is just what I need!

Have fun on your trip, can't wait to see the pictures!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  9. Your posts are always a fun read. I hope you had a beautiful ride and enjoyed the day. We just finished a snow storm and I hope our temperatures will go up in the next few days. I need the sun right now; I'm cold. I think your photos will make great pictures to frame and hang. That is a great photo of the lovely bird and the spider webs.
Spring is indeed a time of renewal and starting anew. I need to spring clean too as soon as it warms up a bit.
Sending love and hugs your way!

  11. Oh yes! I am sure that your own artwork would be the perfect way to go. Driving over country roads sounds good except I like stopping for a picnic or something and we are definitely not in picnic weather nor are there any blooming flowers. Guess I'll wait for my drive for another month or so. In the meantime, cobwebby corners await.

  13. Great picture of the white crowned sparrow. You made the right choice. I am getting antsy for a country drive. We just need to pick a new direction.....done the Arkansas thing too many times.

  15. Hope you enjoyed your spring jaunt out and about. I'd rather be doing that than cleaning cobwebs too. Framing some of your own photographs sounds like a marvelous idea.

  18. Cheryl your flower, bird and sky are always so beautiful! I'm sure they will look very pretty enlarged and framed. I love going out for a drive to "no where" and just enjoying the scenery. We've had snow flurries every day this week so I've stayed in and avoided the slippery roads. I'm getting cabin fever! I cleaned quite a bit for Easter and now feel like I can take a housecleaning break for a week. Pretty soon there will be lots of yard work to do.

  19. it doesn't matter what the weather is, housework is always number 2 behind anything I can find to do to keep from doing housework. love that little bird... did you know you can upload your photos to places like Walgreen and Walmart and Shutterfly and get enlargements, right from your computer, no memory stick needed.. the only things on my wall except over my computer, in our house are my framed photos and have been since 2002 when I got my first digital.

  20. Printing out and framing your own photos is a wonderful idea, Cheryl. I made a little gallery in our bedroom with various 5 x 7 copies of some of my garden photos that I had printed up at Walgreens for pennies. Definitely do it! I love the pic with the webs, I can't bear to imagine what wove them! lol!

    Happy Spring!
