Enter with caution...

Warning!  I am about to break a few rules here.  Yes, I know it is a no-no to talk about politics and religion.  But, this is my blog and I have decided to be honest about how I feel.  You may decide that you don't want any part of it and that's okay, too.   I won't write a book, but I just have to say a few things so the steam will stop rising from the top of my head and the anger and disappointment will begin to dissipate

As someone else wrote (can't remember who, but this is pretty much verbatim), "it is almost impossible to believe that the voters actually passed up someone with the successes and abilities of the conservative candidate for the demonstrated failures of the liberal candidate."   And to that I'll add that it's hard to believe people wanted a man who spent nearly 4 years blaming his predecessor instead of manning up and taking responsibility for his own failures and lack of experience.

It is hard for me to fathom how so many people apparently approve of :

47 million people on food stamps
7.9% unemployment
16 trillion in debt
more people on disability than ever before
socialized medicine
a weaker military
open borders in Mexico
apologizing for America's greatness
more ultra liberal Supreme Court judges
tighter gun control
and so much more, but I'll stop here.

I am very fearful for our beloved country.  America's greatness may very well be a thing of the past.  Many have said they were praying for the outcome of the election.  Our prayers weren't answered in the way we wanted.  In spite of my disappointment, I do know one thing. And that is God is still in control.  When our hopes and dreams for a better, brighter future have been knocked for a loop, remember that.  Focus on the One who created this planet we live on and whatever comes our way, we'll be okay.

Edited to add:  I am only expressing my views.  You are entitled to yours, of course.  I know many who voted for the other guy and I still love them anyway!  Even if I don't agree with someone's politics or religion, I fully respect their rights as I hope they respect mine.  We are commanded to love our neighbor as ourselves, and I hope I do that.  But, I don't always agree with them just as they probably don't always agree with me!
Until next time...

  1. Yes it is your blog and you can say what you want :)! I agree with ALL YOU SAID!! I am so disappointed, but I know that God is in control. He was NOT surprised by the results of the election. Americans have forsaken Biblical principles. I dare say even Christians have made excuses for supporting Obama. I will not vote for any candidate who supports abortion or gay marriage. And if you don't like it, you can take it up with our Lord. Christians have GOT to dust off the Bible, read what it says and then live it and VOTE it. Prayers going up for our country! Thank you for speaking TRUTH. I respect everyone's opinion. I truly do. And I agree with you 100%.

  2. Your blog and your right to say whatever you'd like here. It so happens that I completely and totally agree. Where I went wrong was to look to this election as the answer to the huge problem we have in this country. An election can't be the answer, only God is. So my attention is turned to praying for Revival. You are far more charitable than I am just now with regard to those who didn't do their homework. I feel very angry with them and I feel sorry for the rest of us who are now on this road because of them.

  3. Well said. I am Canadian but I believe that America and Canada are on the wrong path and that we as Christians really need to pray for us all to get back on the right track - that straight and narrow road. Blessings, Pamela

  4. I am still too disappointed to even write...and bitter. If Bush had did some of the things that have happened in the past 4 years he would have been crucified...they always brought up that he did the arms/Mexican thing...what they didn't/don't tell was that he actually put tracking devices in the ones they used and actually tried to learn something, and soon as the cartel discovered them, they stopped.

I actually was hoping for the best when this guy took office...when I listened to his acceptance speech. Instead of transparency there has been more stuff hidden in the past 4 years than we will ever guess. They all blame the Republicans for no budget and he had control of everything the first two years.

Then the last two, they would not even think about dealing...

Instead we get Obama Care...and I dread to see where that leads. I fully expect to start having to pay taxes on the part of the insurance that is paid for us. Not to mention who will still be our PPO...

Not one of the liberals will remind him of what all he said vs what he has done.

I could go on and on...they talk about the conservatives not welcoming minorities...none seem to remember that Eisenhower, a Republican was the first to have Blacks in his cabinet...and look at George Bush and Condaleeza Rice and Colin Powell..do not tell me that we are biased. A friend of ours even had a woman argue that Abraham Lincoln was a democrat! These are the people who vote.

Well, I have written a book...will just say that liberals are supposed to be so liberal and kind...I can remember being young...teen-ager young...and being cursed just cause I liked a Republican..and not that i was running down the democrat. Can you imagine cursing at a young and then innocent girl...or boy either for that matter.

  5. Cheryl, I couldn't agree more with everything you said. So I won't add anything more. Just know I agree with you.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more! I went to be Tuesday night just shaking my head and believing that I am now in the minority in this country. Great post!

  7. Hear! Hear! One brave woman to comment! 47 million on food stamps, and some satisifed to be there - that's what is so sad about our country today. A whole generation... and I'm not even going to mention the millions who did not even excersise their privilege to vote!

  8. Well said. I am as baffled as you and so unsure as to what the next four years will bring, but I have great comfort in knowing that God does. My hope is in Him.

  9. I second everything you said!! I am so sick at heart and worried for our country, that I have stopped watching the news, or internet or listening to my late night radio. I need a break from everything, kinda like grieving after a funeral. That being said, I am glad you voiced your opinion. BJ over at Sweet Nothings did too, and she got a couple of nasty remarks about not wanting to read what she posted. It's HER blog!!

    Thanks!

  10. Cheryl...
    Amen, and amen.

I couldn't have said it better.

We talked a lot about this, since the outcome of the election.

We will continue to pray for our great nation, pray for our leaders to make wise choices, and prepare ourselves, both physically and spiritually.

And, last.. but not least... spread a little sunshine...'cause I feel like it's going to be four more years of cloudy and gloomy skies....

  11. Now you understand my post yesterday. I was tongue tied.
An example of the gross stupidity that happened Tuesday is:

The US Representative for the 2nd congressional district in Illinois
won re-election by a 70% margin despite a lengthy stay at Mayo Clinic for depression and bipolar disorder. He is now in the midst of plea discussions with the feds probing his alleged misuse of campaign funds.
PLEA DISCUSSIONS! 70%! 6 MONTHS OFF THE JOB! A ROLEX FOR THE GAL PAL. NOT THE WIFE.
Cheryl, you opened the floodgates and anyone who doesn't like it can KMA. Mr Obama appears to be a good family man and a good husband and a decent human being, but he is NOT qualified to run this country.
We are in trouble and only God can help us now.
Somebody stop me. I am usually not this vocal. My tolerance cup is full!

  12. Of course I agree with you...strongly! I don't even know what else to say other than my heart is very troubled.

  13. Oh WE so agree with you.
We ran into a friend yesterday who had worked the polls in Jeff City. That particular district usually had 100 voters. She said over 800 showed up, most of them had brand new voter cards. Most had to have the ballot read to them. Some even commented it was their first time to vote, one hadn't voted in 20 years. They were brought in Vans. So sad.
the only good thing is he can't get re elected next time.
    Lord help us.

  16. You are my first comment this week. I have been EXTREMELY upset with the outcome. I haven't been able to talk about it--and spent an entire night crying... I still have no answers, and am still shocked by the outcome. I am SO disappointed by our country's choice.

The saddest thing to me is that MOST people like Obama as a person --and have no clue what else is going on in the country --when it comes to his leadership. There is so much APATHY here. It's just SAD.

I hate to admit it but our country is changing.. We are changing to a secular, godless country --which I truly want no part of.

I do have faith --but I'll admit that I am not sure what God can do to help us (since we all have free-will to make decisions and choices). I will continue to pray for our country --but I think we're in for a very very rough four years --which could lead to conservatives never getting control again.

Sorry this sounds 'down'.. This is the way I feel now---and am not sure what will help me to just pick myself up and move on... Right now--I'm on STOP...

Thanks for your post. I need to hear from others who feel like I do. Sometimes I feel like I'm the ONLY one.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  17. I am so very, very sad for our country. The scale seems to have tipped. And, I'm not sure it is ever coming back. We have to keep our faith in God and trust He has our backs. blessings and hugs ~ tanna

  18. I, too, can't believe we let a good man get away and, instead, voted for the man that is leading our great country down the road to socialism.
I am stunned...stunned that folks have SEEN WITH THEIR OWN EYES what kind of man he is and STILL elected him for 4 more years.
    God, please help us.

  19. This is my first comment, after the Horror, which the Election was. And I fear for my Beloved Country. Fear.

We are Rome. Remember 'bread and circuses'? Translate to "Total Nanny State" and "Embrace Illegal Aliens." And what happened to Rome?

I could go on and on and on. But will stop here. Thank you for posting this. It is lovely to find other Conservative bloggers.

  20. Perhaps I should re-think my initial blogging decision. Perhaps I should go back.... Begin again... But this time, be more open, as to my views.

I have done so, years ago, and it was not a success. Most ladies in Pretty Blog Land, really want a happy place to visit. Without controversy.

Maybe there is a way, for both. A way for blogging-pretty, and occasionally blogging-from-the-heart? Perhaps? Perhaps? Perhaps?

  21. CH and I so agree with you. I actually felt physically ill that evening when I wrapped my head around who had won. We truly thought it was a no brainer decision. So sad. I haven't been able to even talk about it. Good post Cheryl.

  22. Hi Cheryl, I completely agree with you. I've been so sad since Tuesday night. My entire family is in complete shock, along with many other people. I haven't posted until today because I've just been so depressed, worried and already trying to figure out what to do.
I do believe a lot of people are under estimating what will happen to this country. I can't figure out what people are not seeing!!! We were already planning to move out of state, but now it's even more complicated to figure out where to go etc...

  23. I am here via my good friend Vee (A Haven for Vee). She has decided to give her blog a rest due to the outlandishness of the recent election. I hope she rethinks her position because we need her here in blogland like we need people like you. You just said everything I have been saying for weeks and I feel like I was beating my head agaist a brick wall. Enjoyed the rant er I mean post...

  24. Yes, I agree! What amazes me is to see the map of the US and ALL THAT RED!!
It is a scary time for our country, and we just have to remember that God is in control, and it isn't ours to understand why things happen as they do.
BRAVE post, Cheryl! Good for you!

  25. I agree. I appreciate your positive outlook. Some people are being so hateful and that makes me sad. Even though we don't agree with the outcome, it is important to have faith in God, and have love for our fellow man.

  27. Amen to this one; it was a great post. I feel just like you in every way. I do know that this land is a promised land and that the Lord will not forsake America. I do believe that times will be tough; but the tough get going and we will triumphant over evil in the long run.
I have been grieving over this; but we will be OK.
Hugs and blessings for this one!

  28. Amen, amen, amen. So well said. I had a very uneasy feeling all day election day. Thank you for being brave enough to put into writing what so many also feel. I fear for this nation and agree what we need to do most is pray.

  29. I hear you Cheryl! I cried.
And I blame the people who decided to stay home and not vote. Tuesday night could have had a different outcome.
