A Cat Tale

My daughter loves cats as much as I do, which is a good thing.  She has several that have come to live at her house this year.

This tale is about Uncle CT.

We had been calling him Crooked Tail, because his tail had been broken when young or maybe he was born with it that way.

He was also born with a few other deformities.  His claws come out at the top of his toes instead of the end like normal ones.  His front right leg above his foot appears to have been broken and it bends there when he walks and he does walk with a limp.

Uncle CT is a feral cat that will allow you to pet him on occasion.

When another cat, along with her 5 kittens, showed up at Kim's house, Uncle CT took on the roll of guardian or "uncle" to the brood.  Here he is with one of the little ones on the deck where they sometimes sleep in the chairs.

What is funny to us is that he has gotten the mama cat's call down pat.  Kim feeds him and all the others and keeps the water bowl full.  When the food is put out and the kittens aren't in sight, he will call out just like the mama until the kittens come to eat, too.

The little one pictured above is called Lil Stormy, and you probably can guess why.  The kittens are pretty wild even though they will come up on the deck to sleep in the chairs now and then.

It is so sweet to see Uncle CT keeping an eye on all the kittens and even with his deformities he seems to be happy and content while taking his babysitting duties seriously.

Happy Thursday to you!
xo Cheryl

  2. What a sweet story. Seems like CT was born with these things, rather than being injured. Your daughter is so sweet! And I am so glad about your eye, YEAH!

  3. Hi!

I love cats as well, and what sweet photos of these wonderful pets! I think Uncle CT is amazing! I have had a few special needs animals in my life, and they were my favorite pets. Just like humans with special needs, they have such sweet personalities that makes you love them even more!

    Hugs,

  4. Cheryl, That makes me happy and sad. So sad about the cat's deformities, but so darn sweet about his loving the kittens. I would have to love on him. I think true pets have personalities. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  6. Aw, what a sweet story. I don't have cats right now. When I got a divorce, the judge said we had to split the pets. Two dogs, two cats. He would never have been able to take care of the dogs, I knew that. So he got the cats. I missed them so much. And after my pupsters are gone, I might just get another cat. Love that the male cat calls the kitties!

  7. I am happy they have found l.o.v.e ;-) so cute.

We have a neighbor who hates cats. We try our hardest to protect any feral cats from that neighbor.

  14. It's been so long since I've visited with you! And being a cat lover myself, I especially enjoyed this post. CT is a doll. I hope in his past he was not abused by any human. Deformities give us all character and makes us all unique as CT. Gotta love him. AND Little Stormy too.

  15. Hi Cheryl, I too have been missing from bogland this summer as summer is always so busy for us, I am finishing up my canning season this weekend, as much as I enjoy canning and preserving food, I am in need of a break, so I am done until the apples and grapes are ready! I so enjoyed meeting Uncle CT and the little one!
Your flowers in your last post are beautiful, the high heat and humidity is taking a toll on some of my plants! Thank yo for visiting and for taking the time to leave me such a sweet comment, enjoy your weekend!
    Blessings,
    Sue

  16. Oh my sweet friend, this is an endearing Cat's tale. I loved this story of CT. I find Heavenly Father's creations so amazing. This is an example of just that. Uncle CT and his love for this little brood is awesome. Your daughter is sweet to care for them all. I loved the photos. Lil Stormy does remind me of yours.
Blessings and hugs and loving thoughts too!
