Fencing and Other Stuff

Now there's a title that will surely make all the blog readers come running!  haha!  I'm going to have to stop this late night blog writing.  My silly self seems to kick in when I'm a little punch-drunk.  No, I didn't spike the punch.  I haven't had that kind of punch since I went to a wedding and they've now been divorced 13 years.  So it's been a while.  I'm talking about being silly because I'm tired.  Do you ever get the giggles over the silliest stuff when you are tired?  I do.

Okay, moving on...

I've always loved the look of split rail fencing.  This section was seen last month in Branson at an 1880's theme park called Silver Dollar City.

We're getting some serious rain as I write this.  It was a beautiful day Wednesday, but the rain has now begun and it will be cooling down again.

We had around 7 inches of rain last week and so far we've had a dry basement.  Another big rain will really test the foundation work that we had done.

Happy Thursday to you!

  3. That is a lot of rain and I hope your basement doesn't leak from all the ground water saturation. For some reason I've missed your last few posts so just got caught up. I'm sorry for the passing of your dear aunt and uncle. It's good that you had a little vacation to Branson and I like the split cedar rail fences in your pictures. Take care. Hugs. Pam

  4. My daughter received rain yesterday and yet north of her, I didn't get a drop. Oh, Missouri, you are a fickle weather.

  8. Split Rail is always cool to look at. Neat that the TeePee was there too. - Our rain hasn't arrived yet but it's coming. I hope it's not as much as you've had though. - Sometimes I get silly when I'm tired but most of the any more I'm more "cranky" then "silly" when I'm tired.

  10. Oh my gosh! This last picture is gorgeous!!!! The clouds, the light...so beautiful. Also that pyramid behind the fence is pretty too. Is that texture real, or is it painted on?

  14. Love the split rail fence. Nice shots of it.
The rain has been south of us all this time. We got some over the weekend but not much.
It looks like your getting more today. I hope you won't be needing a paddle.

  15. Love split rail. It doesn't hold much in or keep much out but is really pretty.
So far we haven't gotten much rain. The rest of the state has done better.

  16. I love split rail fences also. There are many of them in and around the Smokies...

We got 3 inches of rain this week ---but a big storm missed us today... It's too darn warm here --so I'm ready for a cool-down. We have the house opened and the fans on... Gads!

    Hope your basement stays dry.
    Hugs,
    Betsy
