Good Fences

I spotted this old picket fence while driving down a street looking for a flea market.  The flea market turned out to be closed but it wasn't a completely wasted trip.  I spotted something very rare that I've never seen before (nor has anyone else that we've asked) on my way home.  I will show you what I saw in Saturday's post.   Sorry, I can't help myself...I love to tease!

This property appears to be abandoned, judging from the look of the house you can barely see in the first photo.  What really caught my eye was that wonderful old tree.  Can't you just picture kids climbing and sitting on that big limb back in the day?

Linking with Theresa's Good Fences at The Run*A*Round Ranch Report.

Happy Thursday to you!
xo Cheryl

  6. You are killing us !! You know how we are, we want to know. LOL. Love the fence and the tree. Cheryl, it reminds me of a tree , I used to lift my baby bother onto the limb and have him hug the tree, then I would climb beside him and we would watch traffic. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  7. Great fence...don't you always think, when you see an abandoned house, what happened to the family? I always want to know why no one loves the house anymore.

  8. Hi Cheryl, I am doing some catching up this morning. It is going to be hot again today. I love the pictures and kids always love to climb in trees if there is a good way to do it. Summer fun is what you make it. Water fights, ball games, carnivals, outside movies in the small towns, were some of the things we did during the summer. I am anxious to see Saturday's post. We only have two days to wait. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from your NW Missouri Friend.

  10. Simply beautiful. All of it... the tree, the fence the greenery!

I adore fences that are unique. Around here, vinyl fences are popular..... one after the other... cookie cutter looking.
Fences should have personality. They should be interesting to look at :)

    Looking forward to your news!

  20. Oh my gosh this is a great find. I loved the fence of course. However, the tree is the best. I would have loved to have climbed this tree when I was young. It brought back immediately a memory of a couple of trees that I used to climb on the high school property.
I have missed reading your blog and will pop back over and read some of the past one.
    Blessings to you!

  21. That is a beautiful fence! but I bet it was a pain to build. Imagine having to keep track of which post goes where. I guess it was a good exercise in focusing and staying on task!

That's the kind of tree kids dreams are made of.
