Friday Randoms

It's Friday!  The favorite day of the week for many.  It is the last day of the work week and a nice weekend is ahead.

What is your favorite day of the week?  I wonder if anyone ever chooses Monday for their favorite.  :)

Mine?  Every day I wake up and can get up and eat my breakfast and still hear the birds sing and see the beauty of nature out my window is a beautiful day and a favorite day.  Truly.

We've had much needed rain this week after some very hot and humid days.  We got around 2 inches or so at our house, but several counties including ours have a flood warning out for area creeks and streams.  Minor flooding is also predicted from the Missouri River.

I'm hoping that since this will be a cooler weekend, BG and I can get a project or two crossed off our list.  One of those involves BG getting up into the attic.  He's been putting this job off, but hot weather is here and I we want another air vent installed.  Once the wintry weather is over, you think you have all kinds of time to get things done before the temps get too high, but that time is filled with gardening and outside work and before you know it, those other things get pushed back and the heat has arrived.  Tell me we're not the only ones to have this happen to!

The Mallards were seen in Branson last month.  They were in front of the Hilton along the sidewalk as we strolled back to our car from the Landing.  Wish we were there this weekend instead of BG having to crawl up into the attic to work!

If you've been following me awhile, you know how I love nature and all of God's creatures.  I am blessed to have so many cute little critters to watch and photograph in my own backyard and Back 6.  This little guy was a bit too hopeful while chasing his girlfriend.  You never know what you'll notice until you've loaded the photos onto your computer.  I think I need better material more photos, so I'm off to see what I can find this afternoon.

Happy Friday to you!

  5. HA HA HA---I never have noticed a squirrel like that.... How funny!!!! Aren't photographs just awesome??????

We had some much-needed rain here too yesterday and the night before. We needed it---and still need more. But--I'll take what we can get.. Think we only got about 3/4ths an inch.

When I worked fulltime, my day off was FRIDAY (I worked Sun-Thurs)... SO--I loved Friday for a different reason than most do!!!!!

Good Luck with your attic job. My folks had a huge attic fan in our attic --and it helped tremendously,

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. Your squirrel picture is hilarious, he is wearing a tiny pastie! He has really caught the love bug. The butterfly on the flowers is just gorgeous, and so is the hole in the sky with light pouring out! I totally agree with you on favorite day of the week, any day that I can get up and have my husband and my health. Have a wonderful weekend, and try to get out of the attic to see God's beauty once in awhile!

  10. Hi Cheryl~

    I love the little squirrel - he's in love . . . ;0)

I love Fridays too - but with summer here, sometimes, week-ends can be like running a marathon! I would have to say that Thursday is actually my favorite day, it's the day that I have my husband all to myself! Friday and Saturday he golfs, (in between softball games for my granddaughter), and on Sunday we have church. So Thursday is our day!

I love all of your pictures, and pray that you will not be flooded, or in the path of some huge storm! Have a wonderful week-end sweet friend!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  18. Oh Cheryl, you made me laugh this morning. That edited squirrel picture is hilarious.
Good luck to BG in the attic. I recently forced myself to do a thorough cleaning of mine. Luckily it was completed before it was totally unbearable up there.

  19. The best part of our big move last winter was getting that attic all cleaned out and it being done before it got so hot up there. We threw away, donated and gave away sooo much stuff....sure feels good to not have that chore on our minds. Good luck on your project. :)

  20. Pouring down rain here this morning! We will take it, going to bust that drought. Tell BG while he is up in the attic to put some screen on the new air vent and any others. We had to do that AFTER we got rid of the bats in the attic! Love your Fox Squirrel, privacy butterfly and all! Cracks me up!!!!

  21. Rain --- we could use some here. We had a little early in the week, just enough to water my little kitchen garden but not enough to make the creek sing its prettiest song, the rushing after a hard rain.

Loved your little squirrel. A few of them enjoy sharing the chicken feed with the baby girls. Crows usually show up as well.

My favorite day of the week? Well, I retired from teaching back in 2006, and when you're retired, every day is Saturday unless it's Sunday!

  22. Like you Cheryl, I am so thankful for each day that I able to awake and enjoy God's beautiful nature, I am so blessed that as I work outside I am serenaded by so many birds.
Your thoughts about hoping to get projects completed with the warming of weather has been mine too, my list seems to be always growing. Good luck with your projects, may the temps.be cool enough for completion.
I did a double take with the squirrel photo, your photos are always so beautiful!
    Enjoyed this so much.
    Blessings,
    Sue

Clever way to G rate the squirrel...haha!

I too feel so blessed to have each day that the Lord blesses me with!!

Hope that you are able to cross a few things off of your "to-do" list, and have a happy and blessed week.

  25. LOL at the cover-up. With all the years we had Mama Squirrel that had her babies in our tree, twice a year, I never got to see the dad!

I guess with me, right now, any day is a good day...prefer to stay home on weekends and do stuff through the week when everyone else is at work. However, next year when Lo goes to school all year long, I will probably become a big fan of weekends again!
