What is going on?

Just a brief post today.  This was the weather coming our way in central MO last night.  Can  you guess that I didn't sleep very well?  And today's weather has even been worse with reported tornadoes in many areas of the state, including around the KC area, Sedalia, and the Jefferson City and Lake areas.  We had the sirens going off in our town this afternoon, too.  Fortunately nothing severe took place here.   We did have heavy rain for a time.   I hope that our friends in other parts affected by these storms are safe.  It's been a busy day watching the weather both online and on the tv and going to the basement twice.  Better safe than sorry as they say.

Yesterday, tornadoes killed folks in Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma.   And possibly one in Texas.  It has been a dangerous spring thus far.  Joplin, MO has been on the national news with the devastating tornado there.  Please be in prayer for those in the Joplin area and others affected by tornadoes.   I hope our blogging friends in the tornado alley will let us know they are safe!

Until next time...

  1. It is just breaking my heart...wish I could do something! I saw a video the other day, it was kind of dark and people were yelling for Jesus to help them..just ripped my heart. Praying it will stop!

  2. It is so heartbreaking to watch this on the news. My heart goes out to all of the people who are affected by these awful tornadoes. I am keeping them in my prayers. I can certainly understand why it would be hard for you to sleep.

  3. Glad you are okay, Cheryl... This weather is just so scary.... God Be with ALL of us.

  4. We were in the tornado areas at work, for 2 hours today! There was one cell after another. Sedalia got hit hard today and I hear St martins had some cars flipped over. Sure hope this weather calms down.
I'm heading to Joplin Friday afterwork with some clothes and things. A couple of good friends lost everything.
I'm praying for everybody who has been effected by these monster storms! It's been an awful spring!
Hope you were safe this afternoon, we had hail where I live in Moniteau County.

  5. Stay safe - thinking of you!

  6. I'm ready for all of this to settle down too! I spent this afternoon in "circling worry" and placed our mattress in the middle of the house - just in case I needed to cover up with it. So ready to start digging that storm cellar! Do you have a cellar or basement where you live? Glad you're okay! -Tammy

  7. To you and all my friends in America, may God keep you safe.
I have seen the storms on the news, you are all in my prayers.

  8. The weather this spring has really been frightening! Sure hope it calms down soon. Prayers for all those affected....and for your safety!

  9. This season has made us all realize how fragile we are. I do hope you survived yesterdays mess with no damage.
I have felt like that metal bunny at the fair that everyone keeps shooting at. So far they have missed but I hurt for those who were not missed.
    Please stay safe.
