Hello November!
My older brother, Bill, would have been 74 on this day.
I still miss him. It's still hard to not be able to pick up the
phone and talk to him. Likewise my younger brother
whose birthday was also on a first. January 1st. They will
always be in our hearts and on our minds.
When I was young, I used to envy both of them for
having birthdays on the first of the month. It just seemed to
me back then to be much cooler than having a birthday on
the 14th of the month. ha! The things kids think!
Did you have some cute Trick or Treater's last night?
My daughter borrowed a Stetson that had belonged to my
dad, which I had kept, to wear for Halloween.
She dressed up as a cowgirl for the party at the center.
My son sent me photos of his girlfriend's 2 children. They
were so cute, wish I could show them. Little Cooper wanted to
be a slice of pizza and he was!
I'm off next to make a run down the road to CoMo to Menards
to get some things for BG. He had taken yesterday and today
off to work at the other house. I have a list of things to
get that we've run out of such as electrical boxes, wire,
and I need to get more paint.
First, I just had to do this post to get the last one down the
page. Those bloody spots were beginning to make me queasy. lol!
I wanted to do that post to see if someone could help me figure
out what might have happened, but now it's time to get past it!
Happy November to you!
xo Cheryl
Hi Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteSending you love and support as you remember your brother and sister today. My late sister had her birthday in heaven on the 30th. Halloween was a much bigger deal for us with a birthday to celebrate. She's been gone just over ten years but I can still hear her voice.
We had a lot of cute kids, actually entire families knock on the door yesterday. It's so great to see another generation of kids in our neighborhood.
Have a good week, my friend!
Jane
Thank you, Jane. I know how much you must miss your sister. Glad you had lots of cute TTer's!
DeleteIt would be hard getting past something like that! Your sky picture is beautiful!! So sad to lose both of your brothers, were they your only brothers? I am so sorry. Your last picture looks like the long and winding road.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. Yes, they were my only brothers. I didn't have any sisters although I sure wanted one when I was young. :)
DeleteGorgeous sun shot. i hope you do things that recall & remember your brother. It is the best thing I do to recall my loved ones who have moved on to the heavenly lands. make their fave meal, tell fave memories or stories. so fun!!! ( ;
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beth. My hubby loved my brothers, too, and we often talk about things they used to say and do. Both of them had a good sense of humor and were fun to be around. I can see both brothers in my son...certain expressions and the humor.
Deletegood luck removing the spots.. ha ha on the slice of pizza.
ReplyDeleteSandra, I wish I could show his photo and how he looked as a slice of pizza! Too cute.
DeleteHappy November! Still hot here. Running the air conditioning and wearing shorts.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
It's still hot here, too, Brenda. My a/c came on today and I wore my flipflops to town today. I am seeing people in boots and I'm thinking it's way too hot for those!
DeleteIt must be an intense sorrow to say goodbye to siblings. I know that John's sisters have said goodbye to so many and I really worried about them when John passed. They are Believers so that makes a huge difference, of course.
ReplyDeleteFunny about wanting to push that other post down. I have felt that way about a number of mine, too.
Yay for progress at the new place. It is a good sign to be running out of material to work with.
Yes, knowing that you will see them again makes a huge difference, but it's hard to not be able to talk to them while we're still on this planet. :) We are making progress on the place! Yay!
DeleteIt's hard I know, to lose one sibling, let alone two. My heart goes out to you, Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteBTW, is COMO short for a town. When I lived in Blue Eye we use to go to Arkansas to shop and this sounds familiar somehow.
Good to see you, Kimberly! I will get you back on my sidebar, I'm still missing a few others I'm sure. CoMo is short for Columbia, MO. I live near there and that's where I do most of my shopping.
DeleteI know how you feel having lost my only younger brother/only sibling three years ago. It changes your life forever because NO ONE gets family stuff like siblings do--or share the same jokes--or even the same sorrows.
ReplyDeleteHope that your trip to town was a good one. xo Diana
You are so right, Diana. Only a sibling really understands certain things. I so wish I could talk to my brothers, I have a gazillion questions I would ask them.
DeleteMy trip to town took a lot longer than I planned. It was dark before I got home. The people in the electric dept. was glad to see me leave! lol!
It is so hard to lose siblings or even friends who are like siblings. It is nice though to remember and to enjoy the warm memories. They never really leave us.
ReplyDeleteSadly,I live too far in the country to have trick or treaters. I miss that.
The memories will always be with us and that is good! I miss seeing the TTer's too. We live at the edge of the city limits and they just don't come out this way.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteSending a HUG! I understand how the day makes you feel. I lost my grandpa, he was my best friend growing up. On his anniversary of the day he died, I always can feel it.
Carla
Thank you, Carla. It's sweet that you had such a special relationship with your grandpa!
DeleteRemembering the good times you had with your brothers may help, but certainly not ease the pain of not being able to call them and chat. I feel the same about family and friends who are now gone.
ReplyDeleteIt must be hard to say goodbye to siblings but you must have some wonderful memories of your times together
ReplyDeleteAmazing shot of the sun. Lovely road...
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time realizing how old some of my siblings are getting....heck, I have a harder time realizing how old I AM GETTING! My 7 siblings are all older than me, the oldest by 20 years. When I see most other 80+ year olds, I see them as so much older than my oldest brother who is 82. He has been diagnosed and being treated for cancer and when I saw him a few months ago at my BIL's funeral (who was the same age), I couldn't believe how old he looked. He lives in SC and I hadn't seen him in a while. Thankfully, he is doing pretty good right now and getting stronger. Still, seeing him like that really sent a message of harsh reality to me...my family is getting OLD and it makes me SAD! I know you certainly miss both of your brothers and my heart goes out to you. Hugs to you, sweet friend.♥♥♥
ReplyDeletepretty photos...hope you are doing great!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Marie
Happy November to you... I'm hoping that November here will be better than our October (or our entire Fall) was.... We are in a terrible drought --and it has been SO hot.. It's a little cooler --but still warm enough for shorts and short-sleeves.... Crazy for November....
ReplyDeleteWe don't get 'trick-or-treaters' at our house since we live in a predominantly retired area... BUT--I did see some cute costumes on Facebook.. Even adults love to dress up!!!!!
Well--the election is tomorrow. We voted about a month ago... I dread the outcome ---but won't be surprised... Did you read that the Virginia Governor pardoned 60,000 Felons in that state --just so they could all vote for Hillary? So typical----and again, SO dishonest.... Unbelievable what has happened in our country...
Hugs,
Betsy
You take the best photos ever, I love them. I have lost both my brothers and what is really weird is they both passed away at the same age of 74 years old. I would kind of like to skip that year. I miss them both so much along with my parents too. I don't have any of my immediate family still here. I do feel like they are close at times.
ReplyDeleteWishing for you a really sweet November filled with fun moments. Sending loving thoughts your way~
