Cat Naps

I don't know why this is, but my kitties seem to need to be near me as much as possible lately.  Even Sissy, above, who has never been a lap sitter...and still isn't...wants to be close and jumps up onto the foot rest of the recliner when I'm sitting down.

Don't mind me...I'm still in my nightie...and trying to read and comment on blogs while Sissy naps by my feet and legs.  Meanwhile there is still room for....

Stormy and....

Callie...who both take turns sleeping on me while I'm trying to hang onto the laptop.  Forget the typing.  Keeping furbabies happy comes first.  I do manage to maneuver the mouse so I can at least read even if I can't type.

I might have even joined them for a little nap every now and then.  It's been a good time for resting lately as it's been too cold to get out of the house.  And most days have been too dark to want to work inside the house.

We didn't get but a dusting of snow.  That's okay with me as we've had too much rain and didn't need the added moisture.

With all the Christmas things put away, the house looks bare and in need of a few things to perk it up.  I've tried shopping the house, but nothing appeals to me.  Probably because I've had the same stuff around forever.  I think some of it must have come over on the Mayflower.  Ha!

The new bathroom looks a little barren.  The only decorative things in there are the bottles I've had for awhile.  And I swear they were evenly spaced before I took this shot!  Must be the angle as I was sitting on the edge of the bathtub.

Stormy makes for some cute bathroom decor, doesn't she?  I often find her in the sink, silly girl.  She's so big that she makes the sink look tiny and it really isn't.

It's supposed to be warmer today, maybe 40 degrees plus.  So I think I will take a spin to the Big Town to look around a couple of flea markets and see what I can find.

Please forget what I said about staying away from flea markets a post or two ago.  This is serious shopping.  Yes, indeedy.   I need something different to perk up the house.  Also, I think one more piece for my gallery wall is needed, too.

Have a great day!

xo Cheryl

  2. Cats sure do love comfort. Annie would sit on me all day if I wasn't so busy. Enjoy your shopping.

  3. Love seeing your kitties hanging out. Cold weather seems to bring out the "lap cat" in them, doesn't it? :)

Don't expect me to dissuade you from shopping. Flea markets or antique shops are my favorite kind of shopping! It's a treasure hunt!

  4. hope you find all your NEEDS today. that makes me smile as did the lap cats and foot cat, the big laugh out loud moment is Stormy in the Sink... love it... Jake lays on my feet while i am typing but if he wants me to get up and do something, he knocks my hand off the mouse by hitting my elbow with his nose. he NOSE it works so keeps on doing it

  5. Had to laugh. Minnie really gets needy when it gets cold outside. Maybe it is the short days for the house temp doesn't change. Stormy in the sink is priceless.

  7. I'd rather shop at a good flea market than anywhere else! I can relate to what you said about maneuvering the laptop...except mine aren't kitties keeping me from it. My doxie, Oscar wants to be all over me when I sit down with mine...but what would we do without them, right?

  9. Your kitties look so happy!! I've had two Yorkies on my lap for most of the day. Good day for it here...we have 3 to 4 inches of snow and it is 18 degrees.

  10. Hi Cheryl~

I would love having a little fur baby sitting on my lap, so warm and cuddly! They really are adorable, I'm soooo envious . . . ;0)

I look around my house, and I totally understand what you meant about the, Mayflower! I have things in my house that were my great-grandmother's, and I still use them! Have fun at the flea market, I wish I was with you, my house could use some perking up too!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  14. I completely understand the need to find just the right something right after swearing off the flea markets. Ha! Relieved to know I'm not the only one fighting that losing battle :).
Your nap time with the kitties looks like time well spent.

  15. I begrudge no one time spent in a flea market. It can be wonderfully therapeutic. Hope that you find just the thing! Your fur babies must be chilled and need some wamth and contact. Too funny!

  16. Your kittys love you! We used to have a cat who slept in the sink all the time. Yes a Flea Market day would sure perk me up but I will have to wait until spring:)

  17. I need to shop my house too, but I have the same problem, I've had everything since the Mayflower. My kitty likes to sleep on the back of the couch and when I sit down, she curls up on my neck which is okay for awhile then she starts feeling to heavy.

  18. They are so sweet. My Abby has been a bit clingy lately too. Maybe its the cold weather.

  20. You have inspired me. I think I will re-evaluate my home and get something to perk it up. I think January is the month to do just that. I did get a lovely painting that is being framed; so I am excited to get that. I love the pictures of the fur-babies. I miss my Willie. He always loved to curl up at night in my recliner while I watched TV, read or worked on the lap-top. I do have our sweet our Sammy but he likes my husband the best. Although he will sit by me when we watch TV. Hope you had a great day shopping. Well sending hugs your way.

  21. Ohh...Your cats are so cute. I don't have a cat but I think they're really cool pets. My friend from http://essay-writer.club/ has a cat. He sais that his pet just loves napping in strange places. For example in the sink or like a little Christmas present under a Christmas tree between the presents.

  22. My Katie has been doing the same thing and I have wondered if she is ill or something. It is unusual for her- she is not a cuddler by any means. Have fun shopping!

  23. Kitties and flea markets are a couple of our favorite things as well. We are now petless but previously had cats thatbwould curl up beside us whenever we sat down. The only thing to do then was nap along with them as they had the right idea. Flea markets are such fun even when we come back without any purchases and the same for thrift stores.

  24. You sound like me trying to visit blogs with kitty in lap...I am thankful to at least be able to read sometimes.

  25. My daughter has a cat that won't let her out of its sight! The other one, not so much. Do they keep you vacuuming a lot? That has always been a drawback for me. I know cat lovers won't understand that.

    Cold down here too.

  26. Awww.. your sweet cats are adorable!! It's nice that they want to be so close to you :)
So, did you find anything at the thrift stores?? Retail therapy always helps me get through the cold winter months; especially if I snag a great deal!!!

    Sending warm wishes..
