Friday's Randoms

First up, a Cardinal...just because.  I wish I could tell them how much I appreciated their cheerful, colorful selves this winter when it was so drab and dreary outside.  I expect they appreciated my keeping their feeder filled with yummy sunflower seeds, too.

BG went to see his cardiologist Thursday afternoon after having some chest discomfort and shortness of breath throughout the week.  The EKG looked perfect.  Next up is an Echocardiogram in early May.  If that is okay, then an upper GI will be done.  The doc said the problem could possibly be acid reflux.  He also said he could continue working as always.

The Goldfinches are changing back into their summer finery.  The males are especially looking more colorful every day.

I would be remiss if I didn't recognize that today is National Linemen Appreciation Day, especially since my hubby is a rural electric lineman.  That is him on the pole above.  My hat is off to all the linemen who often work in very challenging conditions to make sure that the power stays on.

The photo above is from last year.  Our redbuds are beginning to bloom and I'm hoping the frost we had night before last didn't hurt them too much.  It won't be long now and I can pick out flowers for the pots on the patio.  Can't wait!

If I don't see you before Monday, have a wonderful weekend and a blessed and joyful Easter!

Until next time...
xoxo Cheryl

  6. Amen! Here's to the linemen who keep things humming along. Good to know that your hubby's report was good and I'll pray the same for the next ones. I do not know how you manage the beautiful bird captures. We had Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal here on the deck railing this week and while I was thrilled to see them...not one photo! Your header is darling, btw. Have a blessed Easter weekend.

  17. Hi Cheryl~

Oh boy, I hope everything turns out ok with your husbands medical issues. They have come to the conclusion that my husband must have been having muscle spasms in his chest, as he was kind of low in magnesium and potassium. They are still keeping an eye on him though...scary stuff!

Lineman do have a very serious job, and quite frankly, we would all be very sad if they weren't doing their job everyday! I will be thinking of him every time I have to turn on the lights!

Your photos are so pretty - I'm so ready for spring! We are leaving in the morning to, hopefully, a greener and warmer climate for a few days!

    Happy Easter sweet friend!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  19. So good to hear about your honey! My husband had that happen one time also..the acid reflux can definitely be painful, but easily treatable! Our grandson in law is also a lineman! I worry about him a lot too...bless all of them for the great job they do!

  20. So glad BG got the all clear to continue to work.
I use to work for a power company and having been out of power many times, linemen are my heroes. They work in the most awful conditions to keep us safe and comfortable. Kudos.

  21. Yeah for lineman, they deserve their own day. Good to hear the tests are ok so far. My husband had chest pain one time it was a virus called Pericarditis...with powerful aspirins/anti inflamitories it went away..twice now. Once you get it..you are more likely to get it again. Just a thought.
Your Cardinals are beautiful! Happy Easter! :)

  23. The cardinal and goldfinch photos are amazing! What a great picture of your lineman husband, too. I do hope that his symptoms are nothing more than acid reflux. That's bad enough, of course, but there are good treatments for it.

  26. There was a male goldfinch right outside my window the other morning. So used to seeing the same birds all winter...most of them brown...he startled me! I completely forgot how vibrant they are. You have some great shots :)

  31. My husband suffered from an attack of GERD (gastric reflux) a few years ago that also gave him terrible chest pain. He had to make some dietary changes and take medication for a year, but he's been thankfully fine since. It is fairly easy to treat. Being a lineman looks challenging --your husband is brave!

Have a very happy and blessed Easter, Cheryl!
