Cranky, Cranky, Cranky

(I do get up occasionally to see the sun rise!)

Yesterday was just one of those days.  And, yes, I have to admit that it made me more than a little cranky.  The last several days it seems like it was just something all the time.  A new kitten in the house crying constantly was annoying.  I'll explain that one in another post.  The jackhammering that went on for 2 straight days was annoying.  The very cold temps of minus 35 degrees with the wind chill that made my olden body hurt was annoying.  The water heater quit heating water just as I started to shower and wash my hair.  There's more, but I'll just say this morning when I sat down in my recliner with the laptop and my cup of hot chocolate to relax and work on my blog only to hear a few minutes later that our phone would be shut off for the rest of the day, well, I got very cranky.   No one told me that the foundation crew was going to have to disconnect the phone line.  And that means no internet connection.   Arrggh!!!

I did manage to get through the day without my computer and I'd like to say that having a sense of humor saved the day, but my sense of humor must have taken flight to a warmer climate.  I couldn't seem to find it anywhere...especially when BG reminded me over delicious hot dogs for dinner that the phone line might have to be disconnected again today.  What????

Until next time...

  2. Cheryl, I didn't know you were back! I need to get caught up again.
First, are you adding on or remodeling. I saw references to jackhammer and noise???

If you want some real annoyance try having two 18-20 year old girls and the ensuing neighborhood boys for breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner...DH and I have been alone for a lot of years now and this was a shock to my system to say nothing of my kitchen!

I love the photo of the ice crystals!

  5. Cheryl it's been a bumpy ride and we had a cranky too! We got home late last night after staying with The Mama after the pipe going to the lagoon froze up early Monday morning.. :( Thank heavens for 4 wheel drive or we would have never gotten out of the garage Monday morning. No internet at the Mama's, all I had was my iPhone and it's too teeny to mess with! Hope your foundation work goes smoothly from now on. What is this about a new kitten? I'm telling you those cats around you have a hot tip they spread around about how good it is at your place! It's going to be almost 60 degrees on Sunday and we are finally going to have our family Christmas!!!!!!! Take care Cheryl, I may shoot you an email and share crankies.. :)

  7. I hate to admit just how attached to my laptop I've become too!
I'm glad that your power didn't have to be disconnected too.
With the cold, that really would've been a disaster.
    Hang in there, Cheryl!

  11. Hi Cheryl, First, I love your picture that you started your post with, It is so pretty. I think jack hammering would give me a headache if I had to listen to it that long. We don't realize how attached we get to our computers until they are down for one reason or another. Take a deep breath and everything will get better. Stay warm. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  16. Losing internet connection can really kill our sense of humor. However, I commend you for surviving a day without your computer. I'm not sure if I can do the same. Hehe! Anyway, I do hope your connection problems are already fixed. Well, hope that foundation crew will notify you when they'll disconnect the phone line next time. :)

  17. We all have those days (or weeks). Hopefully, you will be better today. I am ashamed to admit how much I love and depend on technology. It really is sad.

  19. I would tell you to take a deep breath and try to relax, but been in this situation before and know it is easier said than done. But things will be better in the end...at least that is what I tell myself, over and over.

  23. Cheryl, I can feel your achy bones from freezing temps, and goose bumps from the cold water attack, but also your relief at sitting down with a cup of hot chocolate, looking forward to working on your beautiful blog. When my laptop crashed on me this summer, I went into a week of wacky withdrawal symptoms! Just before I got it back, I actually realized that I had cleaned out many neglected spaces, both in my home and in my heart!

But, ice cream and strawberries would have worked, too!;-D

    Hope you're feeling better!

  24. The only good things about days like that is pretty much you have gone through several months of miseries in one lump. Get them out of the way all at once I say. Should be smooth sailing once this is over.

  25. OMG. It is beautiful. I'm glad that I can look at it in a photo rather than be in though. Thank you for sharing.

  26. I feel it on this one. I would be cranky too. Your day didn't sound like a pleasant one. Of course, with that cup of hot chocolate and the recliner chair I would take that as a message to curl up and read a good book.
    The picture was lovely!
    Blessings to you~

  29. These kind of days are hard to handle....but keep in mind the comfort and beautify of what is ahead. You will later enjoy the hard work that is being done. It certainly is discouraging when the phone line is shut down for the day.
Hope your day today is full of warm blessings...
