Mosaic Monday

I'm back in my flower garden again today.  It's one of my favorite places to be in the summer.  I love flowers, birds, and just nature in general.  There is something so comforting in gazing at the wonders of nature to soothe the soul in this often less than peaceful world we live in.  Seeing the exquisite beauty all around me, I'm reminded that there is Someone who is in charge, no matter how fearful and disturbing the news might be.

Did you have a nice weekend?  We sure did.  Our son surprised us by coming home Friday evening for the weekend.  I had just talked to him by phone that afternoon after he had landed in KC from a business trip out east.  I assumed he was going to stay home after his long week and never suspected what he was up to when he quizzed me about our plans for the weekend.  We had a nice visit and played cards and grilled.  I even made some homemade ice cream.  Yum, yum.

After our son headed back to KC yesterday afternoon, I went with our daughter to her school to help with a few things that needed attention there.  After we got back home, we discovered the kittens were missing.  They finally came after much calling.  We know it's time to take them to their new home.  It's something we've all been dreading as we've become so fond of them.  They have really been a source of entertainment this summer!

I'm joining Mosaic Monday today at Mary's Little Red House.

Until next time...

  5. ...and what a beautiful mosaic it is, Cheryl! Love the style and it goes without saying that the subjects are fantastic.

Sounds like a fun weekend surprise. Your son was very thoughtful to quiz you about your plans first. Adult children cannot assume that parents don't have plans! = D

  11. The first zinnia I have seen that is variegated like the one you have. I agree with you totally on someone greater in charge, and I am thankful for that as man can sure make a mess of things.
A very nice day you had with your son, I love times like that too.

It's always nice to spend time with a son--we helped ours hold a garage sale this weekend. He did pretty well with it and I only bought a few things from him..lol.
