Barn Charm

This barn photo is a SOOC shot taken last month.  I see a corn crop in the background, but otherwise, the place looked abandoned.

  1. So many old barns like this where the farmhouse is gone and the land is being farmed by someone who does not live there.

    Beautiful Cheryl!

  6. I see that a lot here as well. The crops are being planted by guys who have other jobs and the farm properties are going to seed.

  7. I like the shadow in the foreground. Yes, too many barns are being abandoned as farming isn't small time anymore.

  16. Many of the old barns in our area have gone by the wayside to make room for shopping centers! I have a couple of items that were found half buried in a nearby field by my youngest son on his way home from school...I have had them about 35 years now. Only blacktop is to be seen there now.. :(

  18. Hi Cheryl, Great barn photo. We saw a bunch of barns today when we were in Tullahoma --taking Dad Adams for a ride in the country... George was explaining the difference in field corn and sweet corn to me (the ole city girl).... ha

  19. Hi Cheryl, I am trying to catch up with my friends tonight. You see so many barns and farm houses vacant now days as you drive around the country side. Your sun flowers make me think of the drive we take in Kansas where there are fields of sunflowers being grown for their seed. They are beautiful. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your NW Missouri Friend.

  24. Sad to see such a fine old barn left to the elements. Sadly, it seems small family farms are disappearing in many states.

  25. I am thankful that my husband doesn't object to my solitary travels.. Once a year I go for week long trips by myself for photography.. I cannot change a tire either and on my return from North Carolina I had a wheel bearing go out on a day I drove 755 miles through rural Nebraska, and South Dakota and into Wyoming... The guy at the repair shop in Cheyenne said I was lucky it hadn't ceased up and my wheel fell off... Sheesh I am thankful that didn't happen! I hope you ask and your husband let's you go!
