My Knockout Roses are...I've got to say it...knocking themselves out blooming this year. I love this flower because it doesn't require a lot of care and adds so much color to the garden. I have them all around my yard and want to plant a few more. I've read that some folks snicker at these flowers because to them it's kind of like comparing a Chevy to a Rolls Royce in the rose world, I suppose. And it's true the Knockout doesn't have much of a scent, but for a beautiful flower that blooms all summer long, and that you can plant and almost forget about, the Knockout is a plant to consider.
Do you have a busy week planned? I have several things
on my to-do list. For one, I'm trying to decide if it's too late to plant more
zinnia seeds. The many seeds I planted are barely coming up and if we
don't get some much needed rain soon, I won't have near the zinnias I
had last year in the garden.
Happy Monday to you!
xoxo Cheryl
i think i need knock-outs. i killed the 2 rose bushes that grew here just fine before we moved here. :)
ReplyDeleteI planted knock outs last year and they are a pitiful mess right now. Bug eaten etc.
ReplyDeleteI got some spray and hope to get them established so they look like yours.
I love them!!
these are truly knockouts in my book and I like these type roses much better than cultivated roses... my favorite roses are the wild Cherokee roses that climb around in the woods in KY... i love weeds and wild flowers and all we have in our yard is something we can plant and water and it just grows. i just wish i could see fields of flowers like they have in TX
ReplyDeleteI have never seen Knockouts like THIS! The ones here do not have many petals, that's how you can tell what they are. These are so full and lush that they look like regular roses to me, I really do not see much difference. Each flower is special in it's own way and those rose purists are flower snobs!
ReplyDeleteGinny, they have a double Knockout rose and those are the ones I've been buying. The first ones I ever had were the singles, but the doubles are so much prettier!

Delete...and yours are quite just as the name implies...KNOCK OUTS!
ReplyDeleteWe lost all of our rose bushes this year due to the harsh winter. I have never tried the knockouts..but yours are beautiful. I just ordered a New Dawn climber and can't wait until it gets here. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour Knock-Outs are pretty ---and alot less work than our roses.. We do have some beauties here so far this time of year. I'll do a blog on some of ours on Friday.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Beautiful! Whatever you are doing..it is the right thing. I heard that there was a Yellow Knockout:)
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! Two out of my three roses are knock-outs. Yes, I have heard the scorn. Sigh. To each her own. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful, they defiantly are a Knockout Rose, Francine.
ReplyDeleteWell, let it be said . . . your knockout Roses are stunning. Who said they are commonplace . . . they are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese roses are certainly bright and cheerful looking. Blessings, Catherine
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colors! I love roses like this --- carefree, casual, full-blown. Pretty sight today on your post!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are gorgeous! I have one bush and it's really putting out the blooms this spring. I guess all of this rain did that.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous roses and wonderful photos !
ReplyDeleteYour roses are so pretty. I bought three yellow knockout roses, but they are so tiny this year.
ReplyDeleteCheryl - Your roses are definitely a knockout! They are just beautiful! We've been so dry but have had rain every day for the last week. I'm afraid a lot of what I have planted to water soaked.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by 20 North Ora.
Judy
These roses are beautiful, but then in my eyes, all roses are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, Your roses are so pretty and I love them. Hubby has some outside his window at the nursing home. I will be going back there tomorrow to check and see how he is doing. It has been a day of taking care of situations. Wednesday it is a trip to the doctor, the weekend watching the boys show their horses. My custom order of horse tea towels are done so now I can work on something else. I keep busy. We had rain last night and they say we are going to have storms tomorrow. I have enjoyed catching up with you. Take care. Hugs and Prayers from your NW Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteThe knockout roses are beautiful, indeed. Lovely color too.
ReplyDeletenow that sounds like the perfect kind of rose to have in the yard. love that you don't do much work. hope you can get your zinnias all worked into your schedule. good luck on that. busy myself. have a good week. ( :
ReplyDeleteWOW! These roses are so beautiful! It wouldn't be too late to plant zinnia seeds here in Ontario, but I don't know for sure about where you live.
ReplyDeleteYour knock-outs are gorgeous...scent or not! I love plants that are okay mostly fending for themselves. That's why I love herbs.
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, your garden is spectacular! Roses has on top of my most fave flowers. Hope you get some rain soon.
ReplyDeleteUs, down under are needing rain very desperately.
Enjoy your week,
Aida
Finger crossed for rain! I don't even want to think about another summer of drought.. : ( Your knock-outs are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the vibrant colours of your Knockout Roses; so vibrant and fresh and bursting with bold hues! We just got some tiny dazzling pink and red zinnias and potted them, along with some purple daisies, a few other pretties, and some fresh basil. Have to get into the habit of watering them every evening, again!

Those are gorgeous!! I was just telling my husband earlier that I need to plant a few rose bushes, now I really want to plant some.
ReplyDeleteOn these flowers are so beautiful. I think I will look at planting some. I do hope it rains and that you will get the Zinnia's to grow.
ReplyDeleteBlessing on this one!
