Peanut is a rescue kitty like Stormy. She's 2 years old and the most shy kitty I've ever had. She's smaller than the others, but is sweet and likes to be nearby. Every now and then she will jump into my lap. For such a shy one, she has been known to be pretty adventurous. Such as the time we walked into the living room and she'd climbed up the drapes and was walking along the drapery rod. Peanut loves the little twisties you take off the bread wrappers. She'll watch for one to be laid down on the kitchen counter and then jumps from the island and grabs it and runs off to play.
Callie is just over a year old and she loves to be in my lap. When I'm in the recliner with the laptop, she will often leap onto the computer and send my comments or blog post off into cyberspace. If you ever get any strange comments from me, it's Callie's fault! I'll put the laptop down and let her sleep awhile. I really think it's the ear rubs she's after...that and a little attention. Callie gets along well with all the other kitties and is the only one who doesn't like treats.
There are a ton of kitty quotes out there, but one of my favorites is this...
Dogs have owners, cats have staff. ~Author Unknown
Isn't that the truth? lol!
Happy Wednesday to you!
xoxo Cheryl
You have quite the assortment to hug today, I hope you are enjoying a hug right this minute . . .
ReplyDeleteI love that quote, and I use it often myself! We were the staff members for four kitties: Ginger Victoria, Buckwheat Elizabeth, Spanky Hilliard, and Trubble. (Trubby was the only one without a middle name for some reason, but he was also the only one with registry papers!) Your lovely post called back sweet memories of my four --- Bucky Liz lived to be 18, and she was the last one to go. I know they're having a fabulous time in heaven, though, and are keeping the chairs and couches warm. And chasing chickens. And letting our late, great St. Bernard and bloodhound drool all over them. And entertaining everybody...
ReplyDeleteI definitely hug my cat - plenty! And she loves me. Loves to snuggle up beside me on my pillow at night. And she whines when she thinks it's time for me to go to bed at night. Your Callie looks like our Tuppence. Meow.
ReplyDeletewe used to have a barn cat that looked like peanut, his name was cheetah...we don't have a cat anymore so give yours an extra hug for me!
ReplyDeleteHugs to your kitties Cheryl! I don't have any to hug today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder...Fioré is not much of a hugger...thank goodness. She's trained me not to particularly like a clingy cat, though I have been known to waste a lot of time hugging the cat. So, then, did you decide to keep them all? I thought Peanut was having particular troubles with one.
ReplyDeleteyour quartet are a cute bunch! i love that all cats have different personalities.
ReplyDeleteAll of your cats are very pretty, and they each have such cute personalities.
ReplyDeleteYou'll just have to give your cats an extra hug for me.
There are no cats here.... just one very, very, very spoiled border collie named Rowdy.
Smiles :)
Kerin
Loved reading about your babies! They each have their own personalities, don't they? Although they all have "cat" traits. The quote you shared says it well.
ReplyDeleteCats have personalities. Some are such snobs. Some are so loving and can't rub against you enough. I always said our old cat Zoey had too much cat-a-tude. Enjoy your little sweeties. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteYour cats are so beautiful! And each with a different personality, of course. And I just know that You are Sissy's forever home!
ReplyDeleteHugs to all your sweet kitties. Now I'll have to hug mine too. LOVE that quote.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...did I EVER enjoy this post!! Sweet Kitties. Each and every ONE!! PURRfection both in the photos, the kitties, and your narration.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your cats...they are so cute! I think our dog has a trained staff...maybe he's part cat! He knows how to work us...lol
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
OH- This makes me miss having a kitty so much. After we lost our last kitty I just could not stand the thought of losing another one. Your kitties are all so cute. I especially like the sweet little one with no voice---poor sweet baby! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSuch cuties!! I didn't even know that yesterday was Hug Your Cat day. My daughter is currently "pet sitting" for my niece. Since she is head over heels in love with her cat, I'm sure she did a lot of hugging last night on the appropriate day.
ReplyDeleteOh Cheryl they are so precious. I love kitties!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so sweet!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the quote. I enjoyed meeting your kitties.
ReplyDeleteOne of our cats herds us around...I swear it.
