Helloooo, anyone out there? It's me, Stormy. Man, has it been hot lately.
We got some rain Saturday. Mom had planned to grill some steaks for Brett's birthday, but she had to cook them under the broiler. I'm sure they were good, but I wouldn't know. She didn't share even a tiny morsel with me.
I think she was still mad at me for getting on the counter and snuggling up next to a big pan of veggies she was getting ready to roast. She was afraid a cat hair might have gotten into them, or I might have licked them, so she had to rewash everything. I don't like veggies, so I didn't touch a thing. Yuck. I'd rather have the good stuff. Like ice cream.
I don't know why she made me get down and I heard her tell Dad that she was too busy to think about getting a picture. She always has that camera handy just in case I do something cute. To tell the truth, I think she was just mad because she forgot to take a picture of all those veggies.
Mom was in the kitchen a lot that day and I just wanted to keep her company. Everyone else was watching tv and I'm just like my mom and don't care much for tv. She made some banana and zucchini bread and also Strawberry Fluff. Yum, Yum. It sure smelled good. I wanted a taste of the Fluff stuff, because I love ice cream and thought it might taste like it, but do you think she let me have some? Nooooo. She told me I needed to go on a diet. I didn't tell her what she needed to do, I'm nicer than she is.
I even did my cute little trick for the family while they were playing cards. I jump up on the table and walk around several times and give a little love to everyone. I've decided that I like Brett, too, so I don't ignore him anymore. He's a good guy and, besides, it was his birthday. I hope you have a nice day 'cause I certainly plan to. I have a few naps to take and some treats to eat if I meow often enough. Hope your day is filled with fun things, too.
Happy Monday to you!
xo Stormy

ReplyDeletethanks for my late afternoon bra ha haha... laughed all the way through your story, Stormy.. wish i could have seen you parade on the card table... brahhhaha MOL MOL.... we find dog hairs in the food once in a while, they must float off my clothes because the dogs aren't like you, they can only stand up under my feet while i cook and make me almost fall down when i step backwards
ReplyDeleteoh stormy, i really enjoyed your post! sorry mean mama didn't share the steak with you. we grilled steaks saturday too and ozzy ended up with some yummy steak bones! you sure are cute!!
ReplyDeleteHi Stormy! You sure are looking pretty today, and I love your fluffy white tummy. Mommy is good to you! Our Sunny gets on the table and counter and I can't keep him off. So whenever I need to fix food, I have to close the kitchen door so he can't come in. I do not think he would have been as polite with the vegetables as you!
ReplyDeleteStormy..all the kitties are in the very same position you are in the first photo. It is hot as blazes here. There are a few 'snitches' here, too and they would have gone for the steak, too. Hope you get some treats and give a head butt to Brett for his birthday. Hugs, Deb

ReplyDeleteHi, Stormy! We are dictating this note to our mom since our donkey hooves are much too large to properly work the keyboard. And we tend to jostle each other around when something fun is happening. It looks like fun at your house. We don't know much about ice cream, and we've turned down carrots before, but mom brings us sweet feed a couple of times a day. We eat the stuff out of her hands. We are gentle and careful. Mom, though, always remembers to give treats with a flat hand. One time Virgil accidentally nipped at mom's finger. Oh, dear. We are blessed that mom is forgiving. We like to help mom with things around here. We watch the chickens and the dog as they meander about, and we let mom know when it's time to eat. Each of us has a different bray: Otis sounds like a fog horn, Virgil snorts, and Opie howls. It's hot on the farm today, so we are going back to the barn and stay cool. Mom's coming out with her rake, shovel, and wagon to clean up the pasture in a couple of hours. We try to be neat, but you know how it is. We're not as fastidious as you are, Stormy. Maybe you could teach us how.
ReplyDeleteWe send our love and a hearty hee-haw from the farm, Stormy.
Otis, Virgil, and Opie
