Good Fences
I spotted this old picket fence while driving down a street looking for a flea market. The flea market turned out to be closed but it wasn't a completely wasted trip. I spotted something very rare that I've never seen before (nor has anyone else that we've asked) on my way home. I will show you what I saw in Saturday's post. Sorry, I can't help myself...I love to tease!
This property appears to be abandoned, judging from the look of the house you can barely see in the first photo. What really caught my eye was that wonderful old tree. Can't you just picture kids climbing and sitting on that big limb back in the day?

Happy Thursday to you!

Wow...what a great fence...and that tree is just wonderful!
ReplyDeletei love that the sort of look like a triangle. i wonder how they came to this shape? new to me. i wonder what the reason is? it doesn't seem like the land calls for it? ( :
ReplyDeleteGreat capture --both tree and fence.
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteI find this property, in general, to be mysteriously mesmerizing! Do I feel a light breeze in these photos? Thanks for sharing!
Poppy
tease-monster! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cool fence AND that great tree! wow! greatness!
You are killing us !! You know how we are, we want to know. LOL. Love the fence and the tree. Cheryl, it reminds me of a tree , I used to lift my baby bother onto the limb and have him hug the tree, then I would climb beside him and we would watch traffic. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteGreat fence...don't you always think, when you see an abandoned house, what happened to the family? I always want to know why no one loves the house anymore.
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, I am doing some catching up this morning. It is going to be hot again today. I love the pictures and kids always love to climb in trees if there is a good way to do it. Summer fun is what you make it. Water fights, ball games, carnivals, outside movies in the small towns, were some of the things we did during the summer. I am anxious to see Saturday's post. We only have two days to wait. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from your NW Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeletei love that tree...and gosh darn you!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful. All of it... the tree, the fence the greenery!
ReplyDeleteI adore fences that are unique. Around here, vinyl fences are popular..... one after the other... cookie cutter looking.
Fences should have personality. They should be interesting to look at :)
Looking forward to your news!
K.
I would love to sit and contemplate the story that house must hold. Love that tree and know it held many a kids behind.
ReplyDeletethat tree is what caught my eye right away.. the fence seems to point to it... i would like a look behind the fence at the house and to wander around there. can't wait to see what you saw
ReplyDeleteAwesome fence! One the other hand, don't you know curiosity killed the cat?!?!

ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, love the fence and the tree, Francine.
ReplyDeleteI love that tree!! And of course cannot WAIT to see this rare find!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this is a great find. I loved the fence of course. However, the tree is the best. I would have loved to have climbed this tree when I was young. It brought back immediately a memory of a couple of trees that I used to climb on the high school property.
ReplyDeleteI have missed reading your blog and will pop back over and read some of the past one.
Blessings to you!
That is a beautiful fence! but I bet it was a pain to build. Imagine having to keep track of which post goes where. I guess it was a good exercise in focusing and staying on task!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fence, and I love the tree too.
ReplyDeleteGreat fence photos, I really love the tree! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Cheryl I really like this fence, but I love the tree...

O, I do love this fence. Love seeing all these unusual, olden, fancy, rustic, all different kinds of fences. I never really paid that much attention to fences til Tex got us all out looking. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the kind of tree kids dreams are made of.

ReplyDeleteI love the way that fence spikes upward. Very interesting. I've never seen a fence like that! The tree's nice, too, but the fence caught my attention.
