Tuesday Tidbits

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!   Do you wear green or get pinched?  Some of my ancestors came from Ireland.  Also from Germany, England and Scotland.  The most famous of my ancestors was the first king of Scotland, also known as Robert the Bruce.  According to my late aunt who researched our genealogy, he was my great...count great 27 times...grandfather.

I want to thank everyone for the sweet birthday wishes.  I had a lovely birthday over the weekend.  We enjoyed beautiful, warm weather.  We were invited to KC again by my son, who wished to eat dinner with me for my birthday.  I didn't take one photo this trip, just enjoyed the day.  We did stop by the newest shopping center at Blue Springs because they have a TJMaxx.  I could have filled a shopping cart, but didn't buy one thing.  Talk about restraint!

Our weather continues to be very nice.  It was 80 degrees yesterday, but today is a more normal 56 with sunshine.  It won't be much longer now...those beautiful redbud trees will be blooming.  I can see the yard getting a little more green each day.

I have just changed my email address that I use for blogging to gmail from yahoo.  Maybe that will help those who have said they don't get my comments sent to their email.  Please let me know if this has helped.

Before I hit the publish sign I want to mention that the ol' dizzy stuff has struck again when I'm reading and scrolling at the computer.  Sometimes it doesn't bother me too much, other times it's quite dreadful.  This is one of those times and so I will be at the computer much less until this passes, hopefully soon!  If you don't see me for awhile, this is why.

Happy Tuesday to you!
xo Cheryl

  1. Hi Cheryl, so lovely to hear that you enjoyed your birthday. Your photos are beautiful and bursting with spring hues! I think I've mentioned to you before that your emails never reach my inbox, either. They show up in my Blogger Dashboard comments though, but if I forget to check it, since I return visits straight from my inbox, then it goes unseen. I hope this change from yahoo to gmail will help.

  6. Coincidentally, my husband's family is also related to Robert the Bruce. My sister-in-law is quite a genealogist and found that tidbit awhile back. I am not sure of the exact connection. Another interesting thing she discovered is that my husband's also related to author Harriet Beecher Stowe (Uncle Tom's Cabin). I don't know of the famous folks in my ancestry; we are Dutch, and I need to wear orange on St. Paddy's Day!

  11. Oh My Goodness... You are not going to believe this but Robert the Bruce is one of my relatives also.... My Bruce line begins with my Grandmother (Mom's mother)... We have traced the line WAY back to Scotland and to Robert the Bruce... You'll have to tell me where your Bruce line begins --so that we can see where we might cross. We may be Distant Cousins.... How 'bout that????

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  16. i understood the problem was because people used gmail and yahoo it doesn't come into our email that don't use it. we shall see if when you comment on mine it comes, it always has, i will try to remember to check.

  17. Oh no, not vertigo again. I am so sorry and hope it is short lived.
I am half Irish and half English. The only famous people in my lineage are Lady Cathcart who was deported from the US for moral turpitude and Dr. Mudd who set John Wilkes Booth's leg.
Robert the Bruce must have been quite prolific and it seems you have lots of kin in your followers. You ought to have a "Bruce" reunion.
