We lost our sweet furbaby, Truman, just a few hours ago as I write this. We are all heartbroken. He had become very special to us in his short 1 year of life. I'll never forget the times that he would hop on the bed and flop down beside me and turn on his back wanting his belly scratched. Truman was a sweet cat and never bothered anything. He did like to go outside when he could sneak out. Last night, I tried to get him inside but he didn't want to come in. How I wish I could have gotten him in. Please don't tell me that cats should stay inside all the time. That won't bring Truman back. We tried our best to keep an eye on him and his sister when they were outside, and until now, he never went near the highway preferring to stay in the back part of our property.
In memory of Truman, and with tears running down my cheeks, I'm going
to go ahead as planned with this post on Truman and his sister. I just took these photos Monday evening.
Truman to Sissy, "I want you to tell me where you hid my mouse."
"I want to know now. Got it?"
"What do you mean, you don't remember?"
Sissy, with head bowed, "I'm sorry." Truman, "Hmmph."
"Let me tell you, sis, you just better not lose another one!"
Sissy, feeling bad, "I said I was sorry!" Truman, "Yeah, well, you can
make it up to me by letting me have your treats."

Oh I am sooo sorry. We have an indoor kitty and an indoor/outdoor kitty and it worries me when she goes out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible shock!!!!! I am SO sorry! He was a beautiful cat. And I think you did the right thing and he would thank you if he could. He would have been miserable inside all the time, you gave him a full life full of fun, and what he liked best! Each cat is different and needs to be cared for accordingly.
ReplyDeleteAwww Cheryl, I am so so sorry. I loved seeing Truman in your posts, I love seeing all the kitties. I am glad you decided to go ahead with this post. It is a lovely sweet way to say good-by and to thank him for all he was to you and your family. I wish I could be there to give you a hug so {{{hugs}}} this way will have to do. Thinking of you Cheryl. I know you have him tucked away in a special place in your heart.
ReplyDeleteOh it is so difficult to lose a pet, someone you love that is a part of your family. I am so sorry that Truman is no longer with you. My heart goes out to you on your loss.

I can relate to this one. We have had cats through the years that we have lost. The hardest one for me was a cat that we had for 18 years. He is buried in our yard and I had a hard time with this one. Since then we haven't gotten another cat.
ReplyDeleteTruman is a beautiful cat. I often wonder if we will have our pets in the next life; just a thought.
Blessings and double hugs!
awwww, so sorry cheryl. a beautiful furbaby!!
ReplyDeleteOh Cheryl, I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a pet. Truman knows you loved him. You will see him again someday. I really believe that.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you. I so know how it feels.
Losing a beloved family member, human or not, is always so hard. We have also been there, Cheryl. As hard as it was for you to post this, your memories will keep Truman with you and others.
ReplyDeleteCheryl
ReplyDeleteI'll pray for you. I know how devastating it is to lose a pet you love.
Sissy will really miss him too...
I'm so sorry for you. It's so hard to lose a pet that has been a part of your family like a child. We do love them, don't we? We can only hope that someday we'll be surprised to find that they are waiting for us in Heaven....because that would truly make it so!
ReplyDeleteOh, Cheryl...I feel your pain! I am so sorry...I sure know the feeling.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. You might find a little comfort in the fact that Truman probably always tried to sneak outside because that is truly where he was happiest. Lovely tribute to Truman.
ReplyDeleteTruman is beautiful in this post. I'm so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you Cheryl from me!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I am so, so sorry for your loss... I know Truman will still hold a place in your heart. Blessings and hugs ~ tanna

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know this is such a difficult time for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am so sorry. I believe cats NEED to go outside. It's in their nature. This was just a tragic accident. My last kitty lived to be eighteen years old and went out on her own everyday. Truman had years of loving in that one year.
ReplyDeleteLove to you, Ginger
Very beautiful cats and a sweet tribute to Truman.. It's so very sad to hear.
