When my family sits down to share the Thanksgiving meal, we each tell something we are thankful for besides the obvious...faith, family and friends. This year I will say that I'm thankful for the gift of eyesight. I know I often take it for granted and I have been thinking how much I love to read, watch the birds and see the beauty of God's creation all around me. I love watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I love seeing smiles on the faces of those I love. I am thankful for eyesight.

As we are leaving tomorrow for Branson, I will be taking a short break and will return here the first week of December. Have a wonderful week and Happy Thanksgiving to all who will be celebrating this special holiday!
Until next time...
Oh Cheryl...I can so relate to your post today. First of all, the sunset photo is so beautiful! Like you, I find myself dozing as I am commenting, etc. and wonder if I may have done the same thing! About the eyesight... I have started a post that I have yet to finish and publish about this very thing. My eyes have literally been opened this past year since I had cataracts removed. I can't believe the difference and can now see such detail that I have probably been missing for years. I will never take my eyesight for granted again. Thank you for this reminder today and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your time away. safe travels. gorgeous sunrise/sunset. lovely times. Happy Thanksgiving!! ( :
ReplyDeleteMorning Cheryl, love the picture, lovely post my friend......Happy Thanksgiving and have a blast on your holiday, Blessings Francine.

ReplyDeleteMy step mom was nearly blind by the time she passed. I can still hear her soft moan, "Oh Patti, my eyes, my eyes" every time I saw her. Yes eyesight is a pure blessing and one we should never, but too often, take for granted. I have added it to my list of things to be grateful for also. Thank you for the reminder.
Oops, Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy Branson.

ReplyDeleteenjoy your holiday and Have a Blessed thanksgiving. my eyesight is the first thing always on my list to be thankful for. my mother went blind the last 2 years of her life and it was a horror for her and daddy, she loved TV and reading and looking at trees and flowers, he made a place for her on the back screen porch where she could sit in her wheel chair and look at the flowers.. when she could not longer see, it was so bad...
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Cheryl. I love that photo of the beautiful Missouri River:) Twyla

ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Your sunset is beautiful. I know you will enjoy Branson and the holiday lights. I still think about the year we went to see the lights. We took a tour on the Jolly Bus which was wonderful. I got to enjoy the lights instead of driving. The Christmas shows are always enjoyable. I miss seeing them. Have a wonderful day.
