What have I been doing while on blog break? Well, certainly not as much as I had hoped to do. But then, do I ever? Don't answer that! :-) A few of the items on my to-do list have gotten crossed off, but there
is plenty left to do. And my little brick cottage is still undergoing
some fixin' here and there. It will get done eventually.
Since my post in September, my life has been mostly calm, relaxed and restful. Or, in other words, mostly dull, boring and lazy. Just the way I like it. It means nothing much is going on in my world. Which translates into nothing has broken down, including us, and everything is running as smoothly as possible right now. In this uncertain world, who could ask for more? Oh, a trip to Paris, or some new bling, or a facelift, or a brand-new wardrobe would be wonderful. (Forget I said facelift, although itmight be is needed I'd be too chicken to do it.) But, I really don't care about any of those things. I am content with the sweet, simple things in life.
One of those sweet, simple things I love is watching the changing seasons from my kitchen window. Above is a shot I took out the window yesterday afternoon. Even though it was a bit dark outside, aren't the fall colors just gorgeous? It rained off and on the last 3 days, and while it is causing the pretty leaves to fall, I'm happy to see the rain. We needed it. Below is a shot I got of the rainbow that appeared yesterday for all of about 3 minutes. I think the rain is over with for a few days. Sorry the shots aren't more clear, but it really was a cloudy, rainy day.
We went to Branson last month and I only took a few photos, however I'm sure one or two will show up here soon. We had a great time and the weather was wonderful during our trip.
I've missed keeping up with everyone and will have a lot of catching up to do. A blog break now and then is a good thing, but I'm ready to jump back into the blog pool again. I couldn't stay away as long as I thought I might. Happy November to you!!
Until next time...

HAPPY to see those fall colors. Missed you. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteIt's always such a miracle to look at just the right time and see a rainbow. I'm happy to see your new post today, too. Sounds like you've had a good Fall so far! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures. I think sometimes a cloudy day can make the colours even more vibrant.
ReplyDeleteThe view out your window is so beautiful! LOVE it! Life is full of so many ups and downs, it's nice to have times when we can just cruise along comfortably. Time to catch our breath before the next drama unfolds.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, I MISSED you!!! I feel the same way you do about just liking the simple things. I always say that I love a day where nothing happens, that means things are O.K. Your rainbow is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back--you were missed!!! Those blog breaks are necessary every now and then aren't they?
ReplyDeleteWe have had the 3 day rain also and we are slipping past peak. It was prettier this year than most. Now we just wait for snow.
Welcome back! You have such beautiful views!! Happy November to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, Your pictures are so pretty of course it is my favorite time of the year. I love the change of the seasons and don't think I would be happy anywhere else. Branson was one of our favorite trips, but now I travel through my friends in blogland. I know my post probably aren't that interesting, but it is me. I just wish I took better pictures. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs and Prayers from your NW Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteLove your view. Autumn colors just do not last long enough for me. Happy November to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, it is good to see you...I need to make a list of things to do. I know I need to get up from here and get busy....but just had to say welcome back...
ReplyDeleteHappy November to you too, Cheryl.

Hope that this is a week blessed with simple pleasures for you :)
I'm glad you are back too...Sometimes doing "nothing" is good for the soul....
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Cheryl! I'm glad you had a restful break. That is a good thing sometimes. You have lots of colour there outside your window. What a view! Take care and enjoy the week. Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteGlad you have returned to the blog-world, Cheryl, as you were missed. A break is a good thing, even if little, a lot, or not much gets done and we all need one from anything we are doing. Every day we can wake up is a good day and filled with possibilities is how I see it.
ReplyDeleteYep..we've been to Branson. Went to dinner with friends there. The restaurant threw busquits to you from across the room. LOL We had a good time.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you are back blogging; I missed you. I did do one barn picture while you were gone. The Barn Charm site was down or deleted; I don't know what happened there.
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful scenery to look at from your home.
I have been in Missouri taking care of 5 of my grandchildren and they have a home that as beautiful scenery too. I really had a good time with them and enjoyed the beauty of the area.
Blessings, hugs and welcome back!
