We took a drive Saturday afternoon and ended up at this lookout to get a good view of the Missouri River.
You can see how full it is. The rains of the past week totalled over 10 inches in my town.
Here's a closer look. They are predicting minor to moderate flooding along the river in our area. But, more rains are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, too.
Here's a shot upstream of the river as it rounds the corner. It's hard to see in this photo, but as you can imagine, the river is full of logs and limbs.
The new furbabies are growing and into exploring new territory. Aren't they just the cutest? I don't know how I'm going to be able to give away any of the five, they are all adorable. We spend a lot of time watching them play and it's every bit as entertaining as any movie could be.
Until next time...
Until next time...
Well---it will be hard to give away even one of those kitties. They are adorable!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard about the flooding and the tornadoes... GADS---Mother Nature is not being very nice, is she?
Had a friend who was in Iowa visiting her mother recently. She said there was FLOODING there bigtime..
Be careful... BUT--they are wonderful photos.
Hugs,
Betsy
aww, those kitties put a smile on my face! they are so cute. and i'm with betsy. it will be hard to give away even one of those babies...
ReplyDeleteoh, those tiny ones! :)
ReplyDeletethat is a very high river! loved the blue and white skies you had that day, though. hope the flooding is not too bad. yikes!
They certainly are adorable...love the little calico. The river is high and wide and beautiful, but I hope she doesn't flood all over the place. Looks as if the Lookout is high and dry.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree - those kittens are as cute as they can be. And boy is that an impressive river! BIG! sandie
ReplyDeleteThat river is swollen with water. I hope the flooding doesn't destroy too much. those kitties are so precious. I wouldn't be able to part with them.
ReplyDeleteOh those kittens, oh my gosh how cute are they! Darling picture of them. I hope the river doesn't flood to much.
ReplyDeleteWIDE is the key word.
ReplyDeleteWe had 8 inches on Thursday and Friday. And yes I hear there is more on the way.
Keep dry!
That's how I ended up with three cats....couldn't part with them....now I have 3 dogs that I couldn't part with the two puppies. I'm a sucker for a sweet face!
ReplyDeleteI hope that river does not rise anymore. How about taking a short video of the'cuties' so we can see their antics! Margaret
ReplyDeleteThey look super curious in that picture above, I love it! They are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI hope the rain gives you a break soon!
Morning Cheryl, love the scenery though, so pretty but hope the rain stops for you soon......Oh the Kitty`s are so cute, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteHope that the rains will abate before the rig gets much higher, Cheryl. We had a full day of rain yesterday and lots of street and ditch flooding, but within a few hours everything recedes here, thankfully. And, we do not live near water, except in the backyard during downpours. The fur babies are great photo subjects and I would also find it hard to part with any.
ReplyDeleteOh your furbabies are so cute I would not be able to give them away either.Wow you do have a lot of water your photos are fabulous. B
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't believe how wide the Mighty Mo is down your way. I snapped a picture yesterday up here in Iowa and it's nothing like that. I'm so sorry as I remember our flood up here a couple years ago.
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way, I want that calico kitty! How adorable they are! Lol
Blessings,
Gert
Part of our country is in flames, the rest under water. I do hope there is no severe flooding.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is postcard worthy.
Ha, I thought you were going to get attached. Kittens are like potato chips. It is hard to have just one.
that river looks wicked even though i can't see what is floating in it. stay safe. the sky is fantastic, so blue and white...the kittens are to sweet. my cousin many years ago, had 2 cats, they had 5 kittens, she kept them, one day i went to visit and there were more than a dozen cats on her porch outside. i said what happened. she said they keep having kittens and i can't part with them...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the kittens! So cute!!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so lush but it sounds like you've had a tad too much rain lately. :)
Your furbabies are growing in leaps and bounds!
ReplyDeleteMany farm fields are already flooded here. I've taken so many flood pictures (flood of 93 of course being the worst), that I'm not sure I have the heart to aim my camera that way.
The wide Missouri is definitely impressive in your photos.
I can't believe all this rain and flooding this year. Last summer we couldn't buy a drop of rain.
ReplyDeleteThe kittens are sweeties!
beautiful views!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the Missouri River. The St. John River has flooded the valley here too from all the thunder storms on the weekend. The farmers want to start their planting on the flats and islands but can't because it's so wet. Not going to be a great year for crops. The kittens are so cute. It would be difficult to separate them now.
ReplyDeleteLove the shots of the river and the sky...and those babies are adorable.
ReplyDeleteHope you all stay safe! Those little ones are so cute!!! I hope you find them good homes. :)
ReplyDeleteWith all this rain, I'm not surprised to see the river so swollen. I Just hope we don't end up with flooding that causes lives lost, homes washed away and property damaged. the kittens are sooo adorable!
ReplyDeleteThose are great pictures of the Missouri River. We have visited our daughter in Peculiar Missouri once. It is a lovely area. The baby kittens are so adorable. I am sad that I am allergic to them. We always had a cats or kittens through the years.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
