We have had rain, lots of rain. More rain is forecast from now until Christmas. Just kidding about Christmas. But it's supposed to rain through the weekend. I want some nice weather and see skies again like in the photo above that I took the other day.
I did get the planting of flowers in my pots finished this week in between feeding kittens. One job crossed off the list. Yay!
The kittens are still having a time getting used to bottles. They might start out eating good, but too soon they act like they don't know what to do. They do purr and are walking fairly well, but the female, Rainie, is not quite as big or eats as much as Rambo, the male. I'm a little worried about her, I don't think she gets enough formula.
I managed to get some blueberry muffins made yesterday. I had heard about these delicious muffins at Vee's and the recipe for them came from Estelle's. They were every bit as delicious as promised, but I will make them next time with fresh blueberries, I only had some frozen berries on hand. If you like blueberry muffins you must try this recipe from Estelle's.
~What did he say?? Yes, I lightened the dark circles.~
On Tuesday, BG and I drove to the Big Town for his doctor appointment, but the doctor was called away and BG had to reschedule. He did get the blood work done. After fasting all morning he was hungry so we stopped for a nice lunch. After lunch and a stop at Lowe's we headed home. On way home, the conversation went something like this.....
BG: I really missed going into work today.
Me: What??
BG: I enjoy my job, as you know. So I miss it when I'm not there.
Me: You probably think the place would fold up if you weren't there.
BG: Ha. Ha.
Me: You know I'm really glad you love your job. Everyone should be so blessed.
Me: Well, you know you could have added that you were blessed to have me riding with you to your appointment. Or better yet, you could have said you were blessed to have me!
BG: Sigh. Were you just taking pictures of yourself?
Me: They are called selfies and I didn't think you would notice.
BG: Sigh. Like I said, I really missed going to work today, but I did enjoy lunch.
Me: If you want to work, when we get home you can mow the lawn. It's supposed to rain tomorrow.
BG: Pop in a CD and let's hear some music.
Me: Sigh. I know when to be quiet.
Hope you have had a wonderful week. It continues to be hard to get all the reading and commenting done that I would like to do. Thanks for hanging in there with me...I'll be by as soon as I can!
Happy Friday to you!
xo Cheryl
Wonderful shot of the sky! Cute little kitten. Sweet muffins...
ReplyDeleteHad to smile I've had conversations like that. I Love the names you picked for the kitties. I hope Rainie starts to take the bottle better, soon. Those blueberry muffins look delicious. If I close my eyes I can almost taste one. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIdo hope the femalkitten will pull through, you are doing a great job. Loved the conversation!
ReplyDeleteAww, that kitten is just precious! I may have to try those muffins, I'm sure they are fat free! Oh, your conversation, too cute! Turning the music on...that's a great one!
ReplyDeleteOh now that is a conversation worth recording :):) Take care OK Hug B
ReplyDeleteNo worries....visit when you can. You look so pretty. I hope the female kitty will thrive. My husband just pulls out his hearing aids when he doesn't like my suggestions!
ReplyDeleteThe muffins look so yummy that I may have to bake some up now! Yup. Talked me into it,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the dialogue. You presented it so well...made me laugh!
Cheryl, I do hope BG will be fine. It is a blessing to like your job. That wee kitten, so cute. I bet BG liked the muffins. :):) Take care fo each other. Wishing you a good weekend, I want nice days too. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeletehave had many conversations somewhat similar... and we all know HE is blessed whether HE does or not...
ReplyDeletelaughing at the conversation. :) but am really glad he loves his job - that man might never retire. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL at the conversation. Hope the kittens do ok, so so sweet... Those muffins look so yummy, love a good blueberry muffin. Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteHaha re. the conversation. I think we're all familiar with those conversations. LOL
ReplyDeleteYummy muffins. I've not made those in a long time. Maybe this weekend.
Darling kitty!'
Have a great weekend.
Kittens and blueberry muffins...a beautiful combination ;-) Have a peaceful weekend.
ReplyDeleteWow...that is SOME sky shot! Glad to hear that the babies are doing well...they are precious. Oh...and save me muffin, will you? :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteHope the kitties are pooping and peeing OK. I bottle fed one once and even using a wash cloth for stimulation, he would not go. Finally the vet had to give him an enema and I had to follow giving them for a few days. You haven't lived till you have given a kitten an enema. That will really open their eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe conversation sounded similar to some we have had in the car, just different topics. I know what you mean, Cheryl, about not having enough time!
ReplyDeleteThose muffins look tasty and now I want a muffin, but no time to bake now.I have to head off to work very soon.
ReplyDeleteThe muffins look great, but I could get rid of about 10 pounds. I think the kittens will do fine with you bottle feeding them but that is a hard job. CH and I might have similar kinds of conversations but not about work anymore... but I know when it is time to zip my lips.. :)
ReplyDeletei am beginning to think you only have half of a face. you always show these half face shots, that is why i am saying that?? ha. ha!! ( :
ReplyDeleteyou had me at Christmas - i thought wait ... i know they celebrate Christmas in July ...but in May? you are early. ha. ha!! i am happy you are getting rain. i know you guys probably need it. we are so green with pollen it would be nice to dust away the green with a bit of rain. lots of wind here though.
those muffins look delicious. i have not made any in a long time. need to get with it. have a happy weekend to ya my friend. ( :
I hope the kittens do okay . . .
ReplyDeleteI liked your selfie and the conversation!
I'm smiling . . . a bit of Mars and Venus . . . riding together in the car . . .
I did eavesdrop on your conversation. I think you guys are probably pretty normal. The blueberry muffins look delicioso, but I try to stay away for such temptations! I'm sure I make up for it with pasta.
ReplyDeleteI love the conversation........gonna share it with my Sam! Yum....send some of those blueberry muffins to Texas...looking delicious.
ReplyDeleteI decided to do some reading tonight for awhile. Your kittens are so cute. We have had enough rain up here. It has rained out our first horse show with the weekend. I am hoping the weather map is wrong because I sure don't like what it is showing. I know I live in tornado alley, but really we could do with a little less rain at the moment. I have enjoyed catching up with you this evening. Hugs and Prayers from your NW Missouri Friend Shirley
ReplyDeleteI loved your hubby and wife conversation. It sounds a bit familiar. I do hope the little lady kitty will be OK. It has to be a job to fed them both by hand. They are so cute. It has been raining everyday here too. We need it but I do love the blue skies and would like it a bit warmer. I should have kept my winter clothes for a while longer.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!
You two sound like an old married couple! Your cloud picture is beautiful, and so are you! Poor little kitty, I guess he's the runt. We are to get rain all weekend, too. How inconvenient that it does not pour mid-week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates on the kittens. I hope that they are both thriving before too long!
ReplyDeleteYum...those muffins. I remember Vee recommending them a few weeks ago. I need to put my resident baker on it! Thanks for the reminder! :)
Hi Cheryl~
ReplyDeleteI love clouds - such a pretty picture!
Your little kittens are so sweet - it's a huge job feeding and taking care of them though, I can remember more than one kitten that didn't do well with formula, it was a challenge, but they usually started doing better when they could eat solid food. I hope she does better soon . . . :0)
You look like a teenager! So pretty!
I would love to have a blueberry muffin right now! I will have to check out that recipe, it looks so delicious! I have a bag of frozen blueberries in the freezer calling my name.
I love conversations like that!! Sometimes it is just better to listen to the music and know that you are loved! But, it's always good to love your job!
Have a wonderful week-end!
Hugs,
Barb
Sometimes finding the right milk replacer for the kittens is difficult. We raised a bottle kitty once from the day it was born...she was always a bit strange she thought she was a person and not a kitten. As long as you are stimulating their bottoms to pee and poop and milk is going in then they have a good chance. They are cute little things:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, such a cute little kitten and enjoyed the other photos. Thanks for visiting my blog and enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Cheryl, I love your sky shot.. We are having rain off and on this weekend too. I am glad the kitties are doing well thanks to you. I like your selfie shot, very cute! And the blueberry muffins look delicious.. I will have to check out this recipe. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI have extra blueberries so maybe I'll make muffins this week! They look so good and I can make them without sugar. I'm glad you are enjoying your job. And don't worry about visiting....we all understand. I can NEVER keep up. Thanks to for your concern. I am so much better now! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteCute conversation with your hubby.... Glad he loves his job.. That makes so much difference especially these days I think --since there is so much stress in the workplace.
ReplyDeleteHope both kitties make it... I'm sure you'll make sure they do...
We hadn't had a drop of rain in 2 weeks until yesterday. FINALLY got some--but need more. SO--send yours our way please.
Hugs,
Betsy
Funny! Love the conversation! Those muffins look so good!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, you are a woman after my own heart, taking in those poor sweet babies and doing your best to keep them alive. It's so wonderful that you are doing this, they are gorgeous little things, and so deserve a chance at life. Cats are so misunderstood by many people, and in some places they have little value...especially out here in the country. I keep telling Boo that he has the life of Rielly, and doesn't know how good he has it.

What a job feeding formula to kittens! Kudos to you! The muffins look scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI made those same muffins from Estelle's and Vee's....used fresh blueberries and those muffins just about knocked our sox right off our feet...
ReplyDeleteYou are a cutie in your selfie...when I try to do it, the camera is waaaaaaay too close for a 77 yr old face and all I see....wrinkles, dark circles, teeth that need whitening....sheeze.....
I love sky photos...and kittens :) So glad your hubby loves his job. Mine is itching to retire. Still a few kiddos at home though, so it will be a few more years.
ReplyDeleteYour conversation was so funny! So glad your hubby loves his job! It was that way with me, and I always felt blessed! Your kitten is so precious! Love your selfie!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
