It's time for Good Fences hosted by Theresa at Run*A*Round Ranch. Today, I went back into the archives for a fence photo and decided to use some photos I took in 2011 at Arrow Rock, MO, which is a quaint little village on the Missouri river and well worth a stop if you are ever in the area. I don't know the history behind this home, but I loved the pretty white fence.
I've been having a lot of fun lately using the water color pencil in Photoscape, so I just have to show one of those. If you would like to read more about this charming village and see other buildings from my post in 2011, just click here. I was having fun with the water painting feature, which is a little different than the water color pencil, in Photoscape back then, so you'll see some of the buildings including the photo above have the water painting effect which gives it a different look that I also like.
This is the original, unedited photo. Is that a crape myrtle on the other side of the fence? They are so beautiful and I want to try to grow one sometime.
Now it's time to hang out my Gone Fishing sign and say that I'll see you next week, if not before. Enjoy the rest of this week and your weekend!
Until next time...
xoxo Cheryl
i have crape myrtles here - but i want your lilacs. ;)
ReplyDeletethanks (in advance) for linking up! these are beautiful!
Cheryl...this is beautiful...and yes, that is crape myrtle...they are all over in the south. I love your experiments with PhotoScape...just lovely!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, That fence is very nice. Goes with the house well. Have a great weekend, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteNice fence and such an interesting house! Enjoy the rest of your week, Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Cheryl, and I am loving your water color pencil, simply beautiful. Enjoy your fishing, see you soon! Blessings,

Yes, I have gone nuts with your editor!!! It has many features that others do NOT, like all the watercolor and other things. I am still playing with it and soon will post a really pretty picture from it. Thanks! The fence is very well taken care of, and I love the overall effect of the house with the crepe myrtle. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure having fun with photoscape! Looks like several of us are! Have a wonderful week...wishing you beautiful weather! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the house and fence; this is clearly a wonderful place for photo ops! I may try PhotoScape. I already have Photoshop but had to pay for it, of course. Here's something you may want ( and it's free unlike Microsoft Word and all that expensive stuff): Open Office. Fully compatible with Windows. Free, free, free! I figure one good recommendation deserves another.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fence and a beautiful house. I love the edit too!
ReplyDeleteI been there!!!! Arrow Rock is a charming place! Sure looks like crepe myrtle and we have lots in our yard, CH loves them. Even the drought can't kill them.. :) Beautiful post Cheryl and the fence is charming. Enjoy your away time, fingers crossed for a better forecast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a very cute house and fence!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Good Fences,
~Lindy
It is such a beautiful home...and the fence really adds to the beauty.
ReplyDeleteThe crepe myrtle is pretty, love the fence and the house! Lovely series of photos!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...the trees and shrubbery all look so nice. I know nothing of crape myrtle, but whatever it is is quite lovely. Hope that you have a pleasant break.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful home and charming fence! The flowering tree is the perfect touch!
ReplyDeleteThe water color effect is awesome thanks for showing it off.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole scene! I wish we could grow crepe myrtle here but we do have the lilacs which should be blooming soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, Cheryl! You know Arrow Rock is my favorite place! I know this scene very well:). I love your editing. I'm going to have to try that myself. This house was built by Samuel McMahan who had a dry goods store across from the tavern. It burned in the great fire that happened on Main Street in 1901.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, that fence is really pretty and suits the stately home behind it. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the watercolor effect in your photo! There is something about a white picket fence in any form...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your "fishing"! :)
This is such a beautiful picture. I would love that home. The fence is perfect. I love your Photoscape program; it is such a unique look.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Mother's Day and blessings to you!
Love the special effects. The house and fence are lovely, indeed. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

ReplyDeleteI want that house AND the pretty fence...:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Mothers Day.....
What a sweet looking house...wouldn't you love to see inside and get to know the stories it holds? Darling post!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, that's the cutest little house. And I have been adoring that Photoscape app from afar...going to see if I can find it on Android.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving such a nice supportive comment, I appreciate that. So sorry it's taken me a few days to return to your blog. Family stuff going on.
Jen
I love your fences Cheryl - especially your water color pencil version - so clever!!
ReplyDeleteDiane of "Lavender Dreams" mentioned on her post that you helped her with Photoscape.
So this morning I downloaded the program but I can't for the life of me find the color pencil tool - can you help me please Cheryl.
I can see how you have mastered it!
Hugs
Shane
Select the photo you want to edit, then look at the bottom of the page and find Filter. Click on that and a list pops up and then you hover over Pictorialization and you'll see another list. The water color pencil is the second from the top of the list. Hope that helps...have fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the white picket fences. I haven't heard of or tried PhotoScape. I think I will have a look.
ReplyDeleteThank your Cheryl for sharing, wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day
Nice photo and the Watercolor photo too!
