~water pencil in Photoscape~
The flowering redbuds and lilacs will soon
be just a memory until next year.
It's hard to say goodbye to such beauty and they
have been exceptionally beautiful this spring.
We are fortunate to have several lilacs and redbuds
in our yard. Some of our redbuds were planted
by Mother Nature. The redbud growing in the row of lilacs is
a volunteer as is the larger redbud in the background
in the photo above.
We dug most of our redbuds down by the creek when
they were very small. The lilacs were planted from
shoots we dug from around the base of the main
plant. One of our lilacs was given to us by a friend and
a couple of them were brought here years ago
from our former home.
I adore the pastel colors of spring such as the pinks, lavenders,
yellows and greens. It's hard to choose a favorite spring color.
I love them all. Do you have a favorite?
Until next time...
xoxo Cheryl
Love your flowering redbuds and lilacs. They are beautiful, indeed. I love lavender.

Love!! the beautiful blossoms. Especially the one with the water [pond or lake] in the background. So dramatic.
ReplyDeletei have always wondered why they are called "redbuds" ... they aren't red? makes me think every time. i love the artistics license you took on the 1st shot ... neat-o!! (my art teacher use to say that to me all the time as a kid or student, brings me back) i love spring for the same reason ... the blooms, the trees, i wish they would last a bit longer but ... i love the forsythia, it really looks like it is a bright sun or on fire. byiee!! ReplyDeleteBeautiful! We don't have lilacs down here, but I have lovely memories of the lilac bushes in my childhood home, both purple and white. Magical. Thanks for bringing them back to me.
ReplyDeletelove those red buds. OH NO don't tell me another software for edits... photoscape is new to me and now i will have to look at it.
ReplyDeletelove the first one.. beautiful...we did the same with our pink hibiscus, when we moved here there was one, bob moved roots from it and now we have 4..
Spring is simply beautiful, as evidenced by your beautiful photos! Favorite spring color? Hard to choose...but yellow is certainly one of them. It's so cheerful! :D
ReplyDeletejealous of the lilacs. we only have vitex (aka texas lilacs) here.
ReplyDeleteWe are still waiting for our lilacs, Cheryl. They are one of my favorite blooms, too. Your photos are gorgeous. Deb
ReplyDeleteMy redbud died years ago and I haven't replaced it.
ReplyDeleteLilacs are my favorite flower of spring.
Have I already complained to you that we can't grow red bud here? I love that shrub and saw it for the first time on our first trip to Gettysburg. It is stunning - and a zone or two higher than ours in NW Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty, thanks for making my gloomy day here brighter, Francine.
ReplyDeleteThe colors of Spring have been splendid this year....I love to drive down into the fields where my husband grows thousands of red-buds. The field is like a plush field of pink/lavender. God paints the most beautiful canvas and we are Blessed to walk in the middle of it....
ReplyDeletehugs
Lavender and purple are my favorite colors, in the garden. Lovely photos...
ReplyDeleteCapturing images of the spring flowers helps to keep them alive longer. These are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI tried to scratch n' sniff your close up of the lilac to no avail. I adore that smell, but they don't grow very well here.
ReplyDeleteOur redbud has come and gone. So pretty while it lasted. Your photos are all beautiful!
Your pictures are wonderful! And I will have to check out Photoscape, I looked and looked at the first beautiful one. We have one purple lilac by the back door. And I think that and Wisteria are my favorite bushes.
ReplyDeleteOur Lilacs haven't bloomed yet ~ I can hardly wait for that lovely aroma .
ReplyDeleteSo pretty at your place! It won't be easy saying goodbye for another year, maybe sooner if spring shows up on time in 2015.
ReplyDeleteI like the pinks in spring, too. Of course, the forsythias add a wallop of cheer once they bloom. I imagine that they are spent in your corner.
Love the treatment on that first photo!
I downloaded Photoscape, but cannot find water pencil anywhere! Where exactly is it?
ReplyDeleteSpring showers us with its abundance of color, then we have to settle for the milder versions of summer.
ReplyDeleteVery clever adaptation with that first photo. Suitable for framing.
I am waiting for some of the same . . . Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHello Cheryl, I absolutely Love your "water pencil" by photoscape Lilacs photo. So very pretty. I think I like it more then waterlogue. I will try and find it. I enjoyed seeing your Spring blooms, not to many here yet. So great to see. Lovely blog. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteLove the red buds and dogwoods all blooming the same time right now! BUT I need to see the sun and I am tired of cold and wet BUT I know we need the rain!
ReplyDeleteI love the pastels of springtime too. So much nicer than the stark look of winter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can hardly wait for our lilacs to bloom:)
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the Lilac bushes. You have such love scenery to look at each day. My husband took pictures of our Lilac Bush today. We have been talking about putting more in our yard. They bring back some tender memories of being with my grandmother in her yard. She had a few Lilac bushes and I just love the smell and they are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!
I love both redbuds and lilacs...love the smell of lilacs....have one and should plant some more but never have.
