~Yesterday's sunset~
There were around 600 who signed up for this party and I still have many to visit yet. Many of the bloggers that participated in this party are mainly into needlework, quilting, etc., as well as other interests. My hope is to gather enough inspiration from talented bloggers to get back into a little crafting. And, I am planning on dusting off my sewing machine which has been sitting unused for too long and make a few pillow covers and valances for starters. Surely I can still sew a straight line!
I made a quick and easy sweet treat yesterday that was a hit. I'll share the recipe with you in my next post. Happy Monday to you!
Until next time...
We had a beautiful weekend and even got out for a long hike. I would have been happier to have a son visit though! I sure miss my boys! Happy Monday my friend!

Happy Monday back to you too.
ReplyDeleteI need to dust my sewing machine off and do a few clothes repairs. I gave my newer machine to my daughter who sews more and I use my mothers very old Singer sewing machine that still works great.
I loved your post and your weekend thoughts.
Blessings for all your great thoughts and photo's. I love following your blog.
A visit from the child or children is always good.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for more rural bloggers this time around on the blog hop -- I don't do crafts much anymore.
Glad you are finding some inspiration from the hop. xo
awesome sky, just amazing!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteNow that is one big party! It will take a while to catch up.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to spend time with your son. I miss all of mine. I'm thinking I'm going to wait until it's warmer before I go visiting any of them though!
Happy Monday your sky photo is too awesome! I painted a sky on fabric this past summer-first attempt at trying that-so now I really enjoy viewing the colors in sky more; it changes all the time
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Kathy
I am so happy your son was home! How nice is that! Sounds like the party was/is a really good one. Good for you! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI had a good weekend, although quiet. This is a lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteI was visiting many of the Grow Your Blog participants. I decided not to comment or participate so that the outreach would remain clear. After all, I'm here nearly all the time. I'm glad that it was a success! It was an interesting post to read.
ReplyDeleteNow I thought we had a lovely sunset until I saw this one! Wowzer!
Did I miss this....I think I did. sounds fun!! Oh my...this is a gorgeous of the sky... outstanding!

Happy Monday Cheryl, I did have a busy weekend with going to see hubby and then Sunday warmed up to 56, but when the front came through it was something else. I thought about your other half with the outages they had because of the high wind. I prayed that he didn't have to get out. I hope your son made it back to the city. I was glad to be home when the front came through. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteA truly heavenly sunset! It was a good weekend here --- they all are. I have this saying about our lives now - "When you're retired, every day is Saturday unless it's Sunday!"
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo! Glad you had a visitor this weekend...love having those kids come home don't we?? I visited some of the participants on Grow Your Blog!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Skies like that give me hope that maybe humans won't mess this world up after all.
ReplyDeleteGlad your "Grow" was successful. I have grown as much as I can handle.
Your saying it was a lot of quilters and crafters makes me wish I could have had time to participate!
ReplyDeleteGet out your sewing machine...you will have fun!
Parties where you don't have to dress up and go anywhere or even bring any food are a great idea, Cheryl. Glad you had such a great time and a good family get-together weekend as well. The sunset shot is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sky. I call those great grandpa bunny bunny skies. Have you ever seen that book?
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that your son was in to visit. I hope you got a good amount of time to spend with him. This blog party has us all so busy. So many people. I have been inspired by everyone's creations too. Such talented people out there.
Blessings for a wonderful week,
Bird
Oh Cheryl, was a beautiful catch! That sky is awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, the weekends are soooo short...but whenever I say that my husband says, "Yes, and so are the weeks." He's right. Time flies.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your weekend was sweet as well as short. Ours was too...although I'd love to have seen my son and his family. Thankfully, the rest of my family is nearby!
BEAUTIFUL sunset. Good luck with your sewing machine projects. Looking forward to the recipe.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset! We had a blizzard with white out conditions yesterday. I read and slept and read some blogs.
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl. fantastic sunset shot. Glad you had a great weekend with your son. I am back from Scotland and now thankfully back to blogging. Was nearly caught in a snow blizzard and road was closed just after we past through and then we heard that the boat we used, broke down after the very rough crossing!!
ReplyDeleteThe weather was gorgeous this weekend and Monday was a public holiday so I enjoyed 3 days at home.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the "sewing in a straight line", it is one of the things I stuff up on, for some reason (and I can't blame the new machine) I sew all wonky!!
Have a fab week.
aw, what an amazing sky/sunset!
ReplyDeleteterrific shot, cheryl. i am glad you had a wonderful weekend with your son.
have a great day!
xo
Beautiful Missouri sky!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Cheryl!

ReplyDeleteWow, 600 participants, that is amazing! Also amazing is your photo!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl! What a beautiful sunset! Isn't it wonderful when you happen to see one at just the right times? I didn't hear about the Grow Your Blog thingy until too late. Will there be another one any time soon? I'm crazy to think about finding new blogs, since I can't even keep up with commenting on the ones I'm currently following!...such as yours! I'm so sorry I haven't been by in such a long time. Hope your week continues to be lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour sunset was Broncos colors, Cheryl! :) You can see I have Superbowl Sunday on my mind..lol!
ReplyDeleteIt is incredible that 600 blogger joined this blog party! What a wonderful turn out. I have also not crafted in a long time and miss it. ...someday hope to get back to it!
