Missouri River
1. I admit I'm a night owl and stay up way too late most nights. If you see me commenting on your blog late at night, that's usually the best time for me to do so.
2. I haven't turned on the tv for a couple of weeks at least. Have I been missing anything? I think I read that Pioneer Woman's cooking show will have a new segment tomorrow, so I might try to watch it if I don't forget.
3. I stopped in at a Flea Market the other day and there was a new booth being set up. I have an oak front cabinet just like the one in this photo. I saw a couple of things I'd like to have. Isn't that white table next to the cabinet cute? I also like the old school desk.
4. BG is taking the day off work today. I'm not sure what he has in mind to do, we have so many projects to finish that I'm sure we'll find something to keep us busy. It's very cold outside this morning and we had a little bit of snow last night. I think the high today is supposed to be 10 degrees. Brrrr.
5. Remember our little kitten that was abandoned by his mother and we coaxed him inside and took care of him and found him a home? Some of you wondered why his mama would leave him. Well, I forgot to tell you that she left a note behind to explain. See below.
He is sweet, but so ornery and into everything. If you open the refrigerator door, he tries to crawl inside. In fact, he tries to get into everything! He also has very sharp little teeth. Ouch!! He'll be going to his new home this weekend and we really will miss him. We wish we could keep him, but we already have 4 in the house and that is more than I ever thought to have inside! I must say that the others sleep most of the day and aren't any trouble.
That's a wrap, as they say. Please drop in at Nancy's A Rural Journal to see what others have on their list. Better yet, join in the fun! Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by!
Until next time...
Morning, love reading these....Night Owl hey, not me, Who Who!!! Sweet little Kitten, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteSox is adorable! I'm so happy you find a home for this little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteI went to our thrift yesterday looking for jeans, but came home empty-handed. I do not dare to look at anything else or I would have been tempted. :)
No you are missing nothing on TV! That little Tuxie is too cute for words. The pink around his little mouth makes me melt.. ♥ Enjoy your time with BG on his day off. The old Missouri needs some rain! Pretty snap Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Based on that note about Sox, she had probably tried five times to get him to leave in an orderly fashion and he scurried off in some other pursuit. ;) So glad you took him in and I hope he loves his new home. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThe old school desk is exactly like the ones we had when I went to country school.
ReplyDeleteFun shot of Sox! Onery will keep you on your toes, lol!
ReplyDeleteThe Flea Market sounds like a fun stop. The many treasures you can find.
I am not much of a tv watcher either. It's more background noise than anything else.
Happy Weekend to you!
one reason why i really miss our cable - the Pioneer Lady - i love her shows & follow her on instagram & her blog ... love those recipes. she is so happy. i wish i knew what i was ... as a kid it thought i enjoyed being up late ... but i love my sleep too. i did notice your late comments. (when do you wake up like 11 am, wish i could sleep in, i can't do that like i use too. i usually wake up 7:30 at the latest.) but personally i will take your comments any old time you wish to stop by. i appreciate your kindness & love all the same. big big hugs. ( :
ReplyDeleteSox sounds like my son's kitten that is named Jesse James because of his personality. we are freezing down here, woke up to 38 so i laughed when i saw your high. i guess i will get no sympathy from you. LOL
ReplyDeletehave fun with BG today and don't work to hard
Sox is cute.
ReplyDeleteNot watching TV for that long is commendable.
That cabinet is too good to be in Flea market.
glad the little 'mouse' will have a good home. sounds like hubby might need to move some stuff around in the house to make room for a table or desk. :)
ReplyDeleteThat little Sox is a cutie. Glad you have found a good home for him. I am a night owl too Cheryl. You will never see me commenting at 6am. I love the school desk. It's like the one I had the first 6 years in our little 3 room school.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
lol i love the note from mama kitty :D oh man, i'd also love to have that kitchen table! my grandparents had one like that, but baby blue! have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the items you pointed out at the Flea Market booth. I used to spend HOURS in places like that but we don't seem to have many here as we did in other cities we have lived in. Enjoy your week-end!!
ReplyDeleteI wish there were more Flea Markets around here .... I love going to them!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

I'd love to see all that flea market...I see all kinds of stuff I would like! Sox is soooo cute...I just want to snatch him up and hug and pet him.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that kitten is so adorable. Probably a survival tactic. :-) We have 5 (yes, FIVE) cats at our house and my hubby would love to find other homes for ALL of them!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from R5F.
Be still my fainting heart....I so saw many things in the photo of the sale, that I would love to have...starting with that yellow table!! If I were near by, they could consider that thing sold.

I love the 5 items. It is fun to know more about you.
ReplyDeleteSince you have your Hubby near by remember to sit for a while and enjoy the moments with a cup of hot chocolate. I really want to do this one myself. Our weekends always fly by without a lot of relaxing.
Kittens do have different personalities as you well know. He is a cute one.
I loved flea markets and I liked the table you pointed out along with some other items.
Have a wonderful weekend and blessings to you~
I used to be a Night Owl too--but not so much anymore.. We do stay up 'til about 11:00--and get up about 7:30..
ReplyDeleteFunny about the new kitty. He is one 'curious' kitty for sure.
It's hard when one stops at a Flea Market NOT going home with something new!!!! Did you buy that sweet little white table?
Hugs,
Betsy
Cheryl

I am so happy you stopped by my blog, so I could find yours! It is just lovely here. So enjoyable to look at all of your wonderful pictures and read your stories. Thank you for the kind encouragement you left on my blog, and may the dear Lord bless you and keep you in His care. I am your newest follower, and thank you ever so much for following mine! Blessings, Cheryl
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful you haven't watched TV for weeks. Sure wish I could kick the habit. Certainly could get a lot more done.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was those sharp teeth the made her pitch him out. Takes all the fun out of nursing. He sure is a cutie however.
The Pioneer Woman is such a fun show to watch and oh my ... if I could cook like that. I think I could live on that ranch of hers!
ReplyDeleteGreat random things, Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteA night owl, huh? Well, I'm and early bird, and our daughter is a night owl. She can stay up burning the midnight oil, let me tell you :) Wish I could stay up late sometimes... it would come in handy in the summertime when I try to stay up late at the drive-in movie***grin**.
So many great things in that booth. Do you think your going to buy something?? Let us know if you do!
Have a great weekend.
Well he is just adorable! Glad you found him a forever home. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow! No a TV for a week! That's amazing! My SIL has the TV on before she gets up...lol ours up here usually isn't on till around the 6 pm news! Not a nite owl...but had a friend who was just like you...😉
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening!
Blessings,
Gert
Sox looks just like my cat Mittens. too cute for words.
ReplyDeleteWe have been staying up much later too after getting hooked on some abritish murder mysteries on Netflix. Grenville is watching Downton Abbey as well. No tv watching for us so we don"t miss a thing. Kittens seem to be into everything and yours is a cutie for sure. Enjoy the weekend and hope it warms up for you a bit.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your five favorites. Also LOVE that kitty and that white table in the booth. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLoved your random things! And I adore that kitty.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
How I love kitten's. I haven't had one since Bumpy passed away right after Pat died. I guess she didn't want to be in the world without him. I like to think they are together.
ReplyDeleteI gave her to him as a gift.
I so miss having a cat..but Mele would surely get in the cat box..or..maybe not now that she is a full grown adult doggie. :) Still...
:) How wonderful of you to take him in and find him a nice loving home. He is adorable!
Happy new year Cheryl, hope you have a good weekend. Yes I like that table too. I wish I live in your hood.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Aida

ReplyDeleteI'm a night owl too, Cheryl! I worked the night shift many years and is was always easy for me to stay awake all night. I'm trying hard to get to bed earlier as my husband gets up at 5 AM for work--ick! I feel bad that I don't see him off so I try ot wake up that early and then gio back to bed.
ReplyDeleteSocks is adorable! I am so tempted to get another cat as I miss mine so much, but I have to wait till my granddaughter is older so she won't get hurt.
