3. My hubby's birthday is on Labor Day this year. Happy Birthday! He is also on-call this weekend, so we won't be going anywhere. Bummer!
4. I need to get some new photos taken of the 2 remaining kittens. It's only been a few days, but I'm still finding myself looking outside to see what the Fearless Five
5. Have you noticed that some folks just don't seem to have a sense of humor anymore? I don't know if it is the problems going on in the world today, or what. I know that many have real worries or sorrow in their lives and that's certainly no laughing matter. But, I believe that having a sense of humor is a great asset and I know it has helped me out countless times to be able to laugh.
I'm joining (late, I know) Random 5 Friday at Nancy's A Rural Journey for the first time. Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
Until next time...
I'm just joining the Random 5 crowd, too. And late. I loved your photos of zinnias because I try to get some in every summer. Thanks for educating me about chocolate being a salad. Very important to know.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to your hubby! i love your sweet stormy buddy. :)
ReplyDeleteWe definitely NEED a sense of humor in these times, Cheryl!
ReplyDeleteHappy B'Day to your hubby.
Did I ever ask you what brand of camera you have? Because your photos are always fabulous!
Stormy is a cutie, and I definitely agree with you about folks not having a sense of humor anymore. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletemy birthday lands on labor day once in a while, mine is the 5th... the week of my birthday and the week after is usually when hurricanes come to FL but they have not since 05.. i have had several hurricanes for a present in my life.
ReplyDeletei love that pic of stormy and the computer. Jake does that to me if bob is not home, if bob is home he follows bob.
love the Zinnia photos, awesome shots. our sense of humor has gotten us through many things, and yes i have noticed it is lacking in a lot of people...
sweet kitty... beautiful flowers. Great random 5
ReplyDeleteYou struck a chord with your #5. I have a couple of friends I really like to spend time with because they can see the humour in everyday happenings. While there are many serious things occurring all around us, there are some funny happenings too.
ReplyDeleteI adore that picture of Stormy and the computer.
ReplyDeleteHumor is vital to our health. The funniest people I hang out with are my Cancer Support Group. We laugh so loud and long that restaurants in the know put us in some back room with the doors shut.
Happy Birthday to your hubby.
laughter, has saved my life....true stroy!!
ReplyDeleteyour flowers are just so beautiful, you photograph them well.
i am ready for fall...sweatshirts, pumpkins, cooler temps and mums! it's going to feel great!!
What a sweet companion. I have one, too, though she prefers to sit on my head. This makes many things difficult. Ha!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, in troubling times, the first thing to go is my sense of humor. I notice myself being more prickly than usual and pretty humorless. Unless I laugh at The Top, I'm having trouble just now seeing humor. My apologies!
Hope that your husband has a good birthday and a superb replacement birthday!
LOVE Stormy. Happy Birthday to your hubby. Mine is born on Labor Day too.
ReplyDeleteYour little buddy sure is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteI think a good sense of humor is a real gift. My dad had that gift and he always made things seem better even when the going was tough.
I hope your husband has a wonderful birthday and you both enjoy the weekend.
Oh I love Stormy! Isn't it the best when your cat follows you around? I love having a cuddly cat in my lap while I'm on the computer.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your husband on Monday! Hope you guys have a fun day and he doesn't get called in to work!
Love the idea of Stormy being your constant shadow -- what a gorgeous companion.
ReplyDeleteAnd I so agree about keeping one's humor -- especially during these trying times.
Thanks so much for joining in this week Cheryl at R5F. So nice to learn more about you. xo
My Abby does the same thing. She wants to be in on everything I am doing.
ReplyDeleteStormy is such a pretty girl!!
I think I'm going to go and make a salad.
Hi Cheryl, Laughter is the best medicine we could possibly have. You even have to be able to laugh at yourselves. People don't believe in the Golden Rule anymore. They think it is their way or the highway. Whatever happen to be able to work out the solution together. Sorry Cheryl, but what happen at our state fair was nothing but what was done in the past. I love your pictures. Happy Birthday to your hubby. Have a safe and Happy Labor Day weekend. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
ReplyDeleteGreat post- love love love the zinnias. They won't grow in our yard, too much shade from the woods across the street - but I can enjoy everyone else's photos.
ReplyDeleteStormy I think you are a cutie! I have loved you since I saw you in the middle of the Christmas tree.. :) Happy Birthday to your Hubby Cheryl! Hope he doesn't get called out in this heat. Cold front arrives tomorrow, YES! Enjoy the rest of the holiday!
ReplyDeleteYour cat is beautiful!!! Such a nice coat. And your flowers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWowee! I love that purple flower!!! Happy birthday to your hubby....hope he gets to stay home and doesn't get called out! Your babies are so sweet and yes, chocolate is definitely a veggie...and that's why I know that veggies make you fat and lose your teeth...I'm living proof! (some days, I still have my sense of humor....like tonight, when I bit my taco and swallowed the OTHER half of my tooth that broke in half a year ago....wondered if swallowing it would help me grow another in its place) (getting old is the pits sometimes....but beats the deep hole I'd be in otherwise!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog you have. Your Zinnias are gorgeous, shame they don't flower all year round. Enjoy the colder weather.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Aida
A sense of humor is very needed and to me such a joy.
ReplyDeleteStormy looks so sweet waiting for you to finish up on your computer. What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your hubby, Cheryl! Hope he doesn't get called out and can relax a little on his BD. Stormy is a beautiful pal to have. =)
ReplyDeleteA good laugh is medicine to the soul. blessings ~ tanna
Stormy is really quite adorable. I would love to have a cat, but my hubby is not fond of them. I know if I could find one like stormy, he would change his mind.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are so right....no sense of humor. I just don't think people take the time to laugh.
Have a Blessed Holiday weekend.
shug
Happy Birthday to your husband, your zinnia photos, spectacular, and stormy is precious. My dog Jack follows me wherever I go, too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your labor Day, and celebrating with your dh on his special day..

Happy Birthday to your hubby! Pets are so sweet! Stormy must love you a bunch. :) Did you give the other kittens away?? I know you'll miss them.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what is going on I find silly moments to laugh my head off...I always feel better. :)
Love your Randoms! Gorgeous kitty and flowers. I haven't paid enough attention to my zinnias this year, other than watering them. I need to pick more fresh bouquets around here, darn it :) Gorgeous pics as always. And.. a sense of humor is supremely important in my book. Happy b-day to your hubby!! Mine had to work today - ahhh retail! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteI used to have a cat like stormy...I had him for 17 years. Or maybe I should say sort of like stormy...he wasn't always with me...except if I sat down he was in my lap. But I could call his name and no matter where he was, he came. I miss that boy to this day...
ReplyDeleteSome people don't have a sense of humor that is prevalent. It's uncomfortable to make a joke or say something light when they just look at you so seriously over it, haha. My mother-in-law (and I like her so it's not a diss) is like that. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your "chocolate theory" :o)
